Haven't logged on in a while ... Actually, I was pumped to read this since I had read Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk and really liked it and I really like the movie Fight Club (haven't read it). My sister has been bugging me to read it telling me that people had passed out during author reading of "Guts," etc. So, I delve in. Granted "Guts" was nasty. Really nasty, but it wasn't an original story. I had heard stuff like it before, but who knows, maybe it had all come from this short story. Either that or I just don't get grossed out like some people do. Granted, I did grimace while I was reading it. ANyway, I think Palaniuk should have placed the whammy somewhere toward the end. Starting the collaction off with the grossest of the bunch made the rest of the book kind of a let down. There were one or two other gems in there and I liked the "Canterbury Tales" like style.
