message 251: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie broke away eventually, her azure eyes glittering. She laughed a little as she pressed her forehead against his and smiled radiantly. "You're not dying on my watch."
He shrugged without another word and yawned. She stood and smiled. "I'm going to bed. I didn't get any sleep last night."
She winked and headed off to go find her sleeping bag.
Emmett just stayed there, thinking.

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bryant turned over in his sleep.

Bridget sat up and looked over at Bryant to make sure he was okay. She decided she couldn't go to sleep so the best thing to do was to go for a walk. She didn't want to run into any other people so she headed into the woods.

message 253: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie walked to her sleeping bag which just so happened to be in the forest. She noticed Bridget and flashed her a small smile.

message 254: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget smiled back at Paizlie. She kept walking since she wasn't really in a mood to be with other people. She walked farther and found some good trees to climb. She grabbed the lowest branch and pulled herself up. She climbed for a while and then settled down on a branch leaning against the tree trunk.

message 255: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie fell asleep soon after, the Glade silenced.

message 256: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget closed her eyes and finally fell asleep.

message 257: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments NEXT DAY........

"RIIIISE AND SHIIIINE GLADERS!!!" Emmett announced, quite loudly. Paizlie was already up for the new day, checking in with the med-jacks.

message 258: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bryant woke up and looked over at where Bridget should have been. "Bridget?" He stood up and looked around wondering where she could be.

Bridget was startled when she woke up and almost fell out of the tree. She climbed down and ran back to where Bryant was. "Sorry." She said.

"Where were you?" Bryant asked puzzled.

"In a tree." Bridget said trying to be nonchalant about it. She started walking towards the building with the map room to get there stuff and food for today.

Bryant stared at her then ran to catch up. "Why were you in a tree?"

"Well I couldn't sleep so I went for a walk. Then I found this good climbing tree so I climbed it." Bridget explained. They had just reached the map room doors.

message 259: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "So, you're sure none of you got stung?" A curious med-jack asked Paizlie. She rolled her eyes.
"No, I completely forgot."
The med looked at her hopelessly. "How's Emmett doing? After being in the maze after going thru the changing?"
Paizlie paused. "He's different."
The jack tried to get more out of her, bit she couldn't take it and ended up leaving.

message 260: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget and Bryant went into the map room and grabbed their stuff before heading over to Frypan for their breakfast and food for the day.

message 261: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie popped up behind the two twins. "Hey kids, do you two want to go running today?"

message 262: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments "Might as well." Bridget shrugged.

Bryant nodded while eating through his breakfast as fast as he could. The sooner they started the better chance they had at getting back on time today.

message 263: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((One of your charries should get stung.))

Emmett walked up to the bunch and grinned triumphantly, winking in Paizlie's direction. He looked back toward the greenies. "So lets not get stuck again, yes?"

message 264: by ɐlʎʞ (last edited Aug 07, 2011 05:44PM) (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments (( Okay!! :) ))

Bryant finished up his food and packed his food for the rest of the day. "Right, don't get stung, got it. Ready Bridget?"

Bridget had just packed her bag. "Yup. I'm ready. Let's go. See ya later." She said waving at Paizlie and Emmett before running off into the maze.

Bryant followed Bridget.

(( Should they get stung right off the bat or should I wait a little? ))

message 265: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((Wait a bit....))

Paizlie and Emmett sat next to each other, looking at the distance. "Wow." Paiz muttered under her breath.
Emmett nodded. "It's kind of amazing."

message 266: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bryant and Bridget were running the section with the cliff today. They started out at a steady pace. "Bryant? Have you noticed all those signs that say W.I.C.K.E.D on them? They sorta creep me out." Bridget asked.

Bryant nodded. "It's just a sign. It won't hurt you. Now the grievers on the other hand. Those could do you some serious damage."

Bridget punched him on the arm "Stop joking around. This is serious."

Bryant shook his head.

message 267: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "ALRIGHT, we got all the keepers here? Baggers, slicers, all that junk? Good." Paizlie stood at the handcarved podium, staring at all the faces.

"Why are we here again?" Frypan asked boringly, leaning back in his chair.

Paizlie glared at him and ignored the comment. "Some of you might've figured out that we had a special arrival the other day. Two greenies."

She watched carefully, waiting for a response. None was given. Emmett watched her carefully, his arms folded. Finally, the main bagger spoke up. "Your point?"

She smiled. "They could be our key to escaping."

message 268: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments (( I gtg :( ))

Bridget stopped to grab her water bottle out of her bag. She took a big swig and then started running again.

message 269: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "Whadda mean?"

Paizlie drummed her fingers, studying the speaker. "What do you think I mean?"

"Honestly, I think you're crazy. The creators just made a mistake, sending two."

Emmett glared at the girl and ushered her out of the room. Paizlie glanced over the crowd again. "Any more comments?"

message 270: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget and Bryant stopped for lunch, they ate quickly and got right back up. They would be arriving at the cliff soon and Bridget didn't know how she felt about that.

message 271: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Frypan spoke up. "I agree with Paiz."

The lot of the group looked at him curiously. He cleared his throat and cowered a bit in his chair. Emmett looked over at Paizlie without words. After a long period of silence, they all began to form a plan. Well, really just shoot out ideas on what the deal was.

message 272: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget and Bryant reached the edge of the cliff. "Well, nothing new here." Bridget said turning back the way they had come.

Bryant gave one last look over the cliff and followed. They ran for about five minutes when he heard something behind them. He turned around but saw nothing. "Bridget, I heard something." He said nodding in the direction they had come.

Bridget turned and ran to the edge of the row and took a peek around the corner quickly pulling her head back in. "Bryant run!" She said sprinting toward him.

Bryant started running.

Bridget peeked behind her. The griever was now about 15 yards behind them.

Bryant looked behind them and saw the griever. Then his toe caught on something and the ground rushed up to meet his face. His head smashed against the ground hard. His vision went fuzzy and his head hurt.

Bridget turned and went to help Bryant up but it was no use. She pulled out a couple knives she had in her pockets and threw them one at a time hitting the griever. They slowed it down a bit but weren't really that helpful. She grabbed Bryant's bow and arrows. She shot a couple at the thing. One seemed to hurt the thing and it paused for a minute before continuing.

message 273: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie paced outside the entrance to the maze. All the runners had come back. Where the heck were Bridget and Bryant? "Bloody..."
She was about to leave when she heard a faint sound within the maze.

Nina ((sooooo how can i weave my character into the story? can Emerson be the new newbie??))

message 275: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((Sure thing. ;) ))

message 276: by Nina (new)

Nina ((okay! umm how should i write the arrival..or should someone else rp it?))

message 277: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((I can give you the cue once Kyla responds. Or....I'll do it sooner than that. Lemme think.))

message 278: by Nina (new)

Nina ((ok thanks!!))

message 279: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments (( Sorry it took me so long!! ))

The griever was coming at them. It rolled right up to them so she could see the under side of the thing, then it reached out and stung Bryant before rolling away. At first Bridget was in to much of a shock to do anything. Then she realized they had to get back to the glade. She picked Bryant up and helped him walk. "Can you go any faster?" She asked.

Bryant nodded. He started jogging even though it really hurt.

Bridget kept pace with him.

message 280: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Emmett looked at his watch. It had been a month already. Time did indeed go fast. He looked toward the lift as it left to go get another victim....er.....greenie. He smiled to himself and sat on the grass, waiting.

Paizle saw them running in the distance and her mouth dropped open in shock.

message 281: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bryant was getting tired. He didn't know how much farther he could make it. He passed out.

Bridget felt Bryant's body go slack. "No!" She screamed. She was now dragging his limp body behind her. The wall wasn't that far. She could make it. They were twenty feet away when she heard the walls starting to close. She picked Bryant up, which wasn't very easy considering he was bigger than her, and started running as fast as she could.

message 282: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie took the opportunity and shook herself out of her own denial. She rushed into the maze and helped Bridget puck up Bryant, using her small but strong arms to fully pick him off the ground and run to the homestead.

message 283: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget turned to smile at Paizlie as they went through the door. Then she collapsed on her knees. "He... got.. stung." She said in between deep breaths.

message 284: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "No shucking way." Paizlie gritted her teeth as she layed him down on the bed and the medjacks immediately gave him the serum.

message 285: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget followed the medjacks that were carrying Bryant to the upstairs room in the homestead.

message 286: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie stopped Bridget. "You should probably leave. You don't want to see him in the state he'll be in in a few minutes."

message 287: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments "No. I want to be in here." Bridget said, she didn't want to leave Bryant with complete strangers. The only people she didn't consider strangers here were Paizlie and Emmett and she didn't really know them that well either.

message 288: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "But you don't." Paizlie countered, almost to the point of yelling. "You'll just be a distraction."

message 289: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments "You went in there when Emmett got stung didn't you?" Bridget said.

message 290: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Paizlie blushed. "That's different."

message 291: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments "How's that different? Someone I love is in there just like you love Emmett. It might be a different kind of love but it's still love." Bridget said.

message 292: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments "I don't love...." She cut herself off. Sure, Emmett and her had always been there for eachother. And maybe they'd shared a few 'moments' but did she love him? She couldn't decide at the moment. She swallowed and looked at Bridget. "Okay. You can stay. But don't blame me if your ears go raw from his screaming."

message 293: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget smiled and sat down in the room next to Bryant.

message 294: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments Meanwhile Emmett sat on the ground.

((Sorry for the post, I'm a bit tied up right now.))

message 295: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments Bridget grabbed Bryant's hand and stared at his limp body trying not to panic.

message 296: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((You're going to need to describe what Bryant's going through. What's in his mind, you know?))

Paizlie leaned against the door, her careful eyes set on Brudget. But her mind was wandered elsewhere. Emmett.

Emmett watched the lift slowly descend back, the box halting suddenly. A few gladers gathered around.

message 297: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments (( Brudget?? )) (( I'm going to have to reread that part of the book first. Should he see what Thomas saw?? ))

Bridget felt a tear roll down her cheek. She didn't want Bryant to change. She wanted him to be the same as always.

message 298: by Ember (new)

Ember (embersmith) | 201 comments ((*Bridget. Sorry, haha. And yeah.))

Paizlie found herself frowning at the Girl's sadness and Sge walked over and tapped her on the back comfortingly.

message 299: by ɐlʎʞ (new)

ɐlʎʞ | 220 comments (( Sge?? ))

message 300: by Ember (new)
