Cool! But, have you looked into the concept of converting editing time into words so you can still "Win"? I don't remember exactly, but it's for the people who want the atmosphere and the tips but really need to be editing and not writing. You still set a word goal and everything, but you are editing instead of writing.

That's what I was originally going to do-- but my editing timetable was stuffed around a lot, so we didn't start editing until a few days ><
Not worth it anymore haha

Irene (wingdesilverii) *offers you white pomegranate tea*

Ah, makes sense. I am just exhausted between having worked forty something hours this week and staying with a friend in the hospital.

message 17710: by Emily (new)

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments Oooh pomegrante tea?
*takes*
thanks :3

Damn, that sounds hectic :(
Hope your friend is okay!

message 17711: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) You're quite welcome, squeeze of lemon?

Yah...and then I add in a whole bunch of other stuff and it ended up quite busy.

Yes. He's really a friend's kid but I get along with people much older than me and a few people my own age. So, I am friends with his mother and she and her husband foster/adopt. His previous family wasn't suitable and he ended up in the hospital so my friend was asked if she would be okay "taking him in" and he has taking a liking to me so I hung out at the hospital with him.

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments @Irene
That was very sweet of you!

@jo
HEY!

message 17715: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: Aw, thanks. He just needs to be treated "normally" and not like someone who he should have been able to trust badly hurt him and I can do that so I kept him company after work.

Awwwwww
Poor kid :/

message 17717: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: Yah, it's hard to believe that there are people like that out there, but he's in good hands now and will have the chance to stay and become a part of my friend's family if everyone feels okay with it.

message 17718: by Emily (new)

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments @irene That's fantastic!

Oh, and did you know Lena Headey is the lead in the Sarah Chronicles show? I DIDN'T!!!

message 17719: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: Yes, she does fostering and adoption and the fostering to adopt thing. Because he has so many issues the system requires that they go through the foster to adopt process.

Have no clue what you are taking about so no....

message 17720: by Emily (new)

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments @irene
Foster to adopt? It becomes so complicated.

AND SUMMER FROM FIREFLY!!!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851851/

message 17721: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: It just means that him staying with him isn't permanent. Some kids just need fostering until their parents can take them back and it's a temporary thing. Adopting is pretty much permanent.

message 17722: by Emily (new)

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments @Irene
Yeah, I know.
I just meant in general.
We've known people who have gone through hell trying to adopt and it just becomes so much trouble.

Yah, it can be really tough sometimes with all of that.

She was told she wouldn't ever be able to have kids though and so her and her husband fostered a child right off the bat. It worked out so well that the family services (I can't remember their exact name right now) asked if they would like to adopt him. Her family is favorite in their eyes because they can easily handle the problem kids who get tossed between foster home after foster home.

@Jo: Haha, thanks. The faith in humanity needs to go to my friend but thanks.

message 17730: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: I think what really helped was that she was from a big family and liked children so growing up she pretty much helped raise younger siblings and was completely ready to be a mother at 20.

message 17731: by Emily (new)

Emily Taylor (taylorink) | 1045 comments @Irene
That's really adorable! She must be the nicest person-- strict, but loving haha

I have two younger sisters, so I think I'd be ready more the most, but still. A long way off! haha

message 17732: by [deleted user] (new)

And Emily is the winner!

message 17733: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) @Emily: Haha, something like that! And I just don't like children in general so I highly doubt I will have kids.

message 17734: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 30, 2014 06:53AM) (new)

I like kids, but only in small quantities at a time. I can get over whelmed if there are fifteen 3-6 year-olds running around! (which is why I don't help out with the little kids programs at the library)

message 17735: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Eh, not even then. I mean I can put up with them and take care of them (like when I occasionally watch my little cousins or my friend's kids) and all, but I don't really enjoy it.
