Bloodring - In a near-future world, seraphs and demons fight a never-ending battle. But a new species of mage has arisen. Thorn St. Croix is no ordinary "neomage." Nearly driven insane by her powers, she has escaped the confines of the Enclaves and now lives among humans. When her ex-husband is kidnapped, Thorn must risk revealing her true identity to save him. I thought the first one was a little slow as the world building is pretty extensive, but it was good and different from so much that is out there.
Thanks for explaining, Darcy. I got back here too late. ;-)It really is different from a lot of UF. I like it.
No problem. I have read them too, but did think the first one read slow for the reason I listed above.
Is there another listing for it here? It doesn't show any reviews or ratings in the one posted above. It sounds really interesting. Maybe I'll see if my library has it.
The Jane Yellowrock Series by Faith Hunter is a very good series to check out. The heroine is a supernatural vampire hunter and is hired to take care of the New Orleans Vampire Council's latest issue. I reminded me a bit of the Mercy series while I was reading them.
