Read Around the USA Challenge

Hi Linda! This is actually an open-ended challenge, meaning no set end date. You can take as long as you want to complete..."
Thank you Heather. I was hoping to finish within the year. You are like me with so many to read and not being able to get to them.

I know what that is like. I have run out of room on shelves so I have gone to stacking them up against the wall on top of the shelves. Just toom many books to read. I think everyone has outstanding states. I hope.
Linda wrote: "I am looking for places like Idaho Montana and Vermont. I think the rest are in my TBR. "
Those are three of my open states yet as well. Nothing in the TBR pile for Montana or Vermont, but I do have one for Idaho: Blue Heaven by C.J. Box. Delaware, Utah and the Dakotas are all still blanks, too.

I did find a book for South Dakota. Funeral Food

I have Dakota

I think I will try your Dakota by Martha Grimes. But I did find a book for So. Dakota. Funeral Food by Kathleen Taylor. I am reading now. I did use TuTu Deadly for Utah.See Great minds work together.
For Noth Dakota, if you have a Kindle, you can try Ranch Park. And for South Dakota, you have Lori G. Armstrong's series, Merci Armstrong and PI Julie Collins.

Linda: I actually have Funeral Food on my list of books to look for, but haven't had any luck yet. Also added a book for Alabama based on someone else's list. I also figure if I just keep shifting through the mountainous TBR pile I might eventually find books to fit other states I am missing. Maybe, lol. Of the states I haven't yet crossed off the list, I have books slated for twelve of them, twelve more to go.

I do not have a Kindle. And am reading So. Dakota already but thanks for the info.

I will look him up. It sounds like it could be interesting. Thank you.

I think if I could go through my whole TBR pile I might be able to find something for all the states. When I get back from vacation I think I will do that. After I finish Funeral Food we will probably put it up on PBS. I check others list also. Gives me ideas.

For UT try Natalie Roberts Jenny Partridge books. They're pretty good and you get a few laughs, too.
For Iowa I have Marshall Cook's Twin Killing (book three in his Monona Quinn series; the other three books are set in Wis) on my TBR list.
For RI, I read the Alice Kimberly "Haunted Bookshop" series.
For RI, I read the Alice Kimberly "Haunted Bookshop" series.

I read 61 HOURS for my SD book. It's the only Reacher book I've ever been able to finish. The series just doesn't appeal to me, tho I have lots of other book friends who dearly love the books. Love Lee Child, just not his books!
I've just read Funeral Food for South Dakota. Nice book, but I'm not sure about keeping on reading the series.

Kaye, I love the Alice Kimberly series (RI)--which you probably noticed from some of my past Teaser Tuesday selections. I ended up reading a rom suspense by local author Ann Voss Peterson for WY, Wyoming Manhunt, which had a good mystery in it. I really need to pick off a couple more states on my own list! Sigh. So many books...

There's a mystery series set in WV that I found on www.stopyourekillingme.com. I was able to get one of the books on PBS. I haven't read it yet, but it looks good!

I think the first book in Sarah Andrews' "Em Hansen" series is set in WY...Tensleep. I haven't read it yet, but that's what I'm planning on using for WY.

Congrats, Kaye! I seemed to have stalled at 29. I have books for at least ten more states in the TBR pile, but have been horrible about getting to them. Must do something about that...

I finally knocked two more states off my list, Kansas (The Winter Widow) and Vermont (The Christmas Thief). Only twenty more to go....
Thanks, Lisa Kay and Marisa. I have books for about a dozen of the remaining states, but am having trouble finding something I might like for a few others. Like Delaware. I know a lot of people read that one on racing, but that just does not appeal to me.

Yeah, and it wasn't that great either. I read it for DE. I was almost thinking of starting the challenge again, it was so much fun, but after reading your post about DE, it got me thinking no to another round. Have fun with the rest of it Heather!
I agree with Kay, not so great reading. I have seven states to go, but I don't find any interesting book for me.

Heather, I have have started a Reference Log, it is in the GoodReads Group "Happily Ever After Café" - but it has more than just romance books there. It covers all genre. You, and anyone else, are more than welcome to browse around. Starting at Post #3, most of books for the states are hyperlinked, but I haven't finished them all. You might find something.
Reference Log for Keeping Track of Books for 50 States Challenges
Also, there is another GoodReads Group called "Settings" that is getting quite a bookshelf collection. The states are listed as "usa-alabama" etc. That hyperlink is to the first bookshelf page. Again, with multiple genre.
Good luck! Happy book hunting. ☺

Thank you Karen. I did find the ones for New Jersey. I am looking for places like Idaho Montana and Vermont. I think the rest are in my TBR.
