Little Women Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
The Pillars of the Earth The Pillars of the Earth (Paperback) by Ken Follett

It hurt to only pick two... but I will leave it at that for now. If I pick too many you won't even listen :) So those two are WONDERFUL.

Zoe | 113 comments The Pillars of the Earth is one of my all time favorites too!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty White
The Stand by Stephen King
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

My FAVORITE book? Beyond the Pawpaw Trees by Palmer Brown. It is a children's book from the 40's with pen and ink drawings by the author. I can pretty much pinpoint that book as being what made me fall in love with reading. It is out of print now. I paid a fortune for a copy on Ebay a few years back, but it was soooooo worth it!

I think I speak for all of us Wallace when I say that we want to see more of your top picks!

Ahhhh, I LOVED A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I have a copy that I think might be a first edition. I found it buried in a small antique store in Boulder City, NV. It was only $16. Crazy! If it isn't a first edition, it was one of the first because it's from the year it was published (even has an inscription in it).

Speaking of inscriptions... has anyone seen Definitely, Maybe? In it there is a character who collects (for a sad reason) versions of Jane Eyre that have inscriptions in it and lines them along her wall. i actually think that's a beautiful idea.

BTW, I've been wanting to read Outlander for awhile now... it's waiting on my shelf.

Ok, more of my top picks:

Heavier Reads:
The Bell Jar
The Great Gatsby
Pride and Prejudice
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Lighter Reads:
Evening Class & pretty much anything by Maeve Binchy
The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club
Needles and Pearls

Lightest Reads:
Something Borrowed
Something Blue
Holly's Inbox
Undead and Unwed

Haha, ok I'm going to stop now or I'll start cataloging ALL of my books. I'm sure there are tons more to add to the list, so there will be more opportunities.

Yes, I thought that was sweet. :)

Nadia A (bagambo) I loved that she did that in the movie! That was one of my favorite things about that movie.

Ti (bookchatter) | 13 comments If I had to pick just a couple, I'd go with East of Eden and A Separate Peace. I know a lot of people that have read A Separate Peace and thought, "Gee whiz Ti, what's the big deal anyway?" but I LOVED it. I think I read it at the right time in my life.

LemonLinda (lwilliamson0423) Probably for me it would be A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and To Kill a Mockingbird.
There are so many more, but those two stick with me.

Ti-- that happens to me too, the right book at the right time that no one else gets (and sometimes I didn't like it when I tried to read it earlier, but when I came back at the right time ended up loving said book).

LemonLinda-- Loved both of those books when I read them too... both were in middle school I think.
