Anything by Kinsella, Keyes or Giffin. Chick lit is definitely a great reading staple during the summer.
I am new to Keyes and really like her. I FLEW through Something Borrowed and Something Blue by Giffin.
I just remembered my sexy vampire series (see below for book #1)... I think I've made it to book 5. Now that I think about it, I'm adding some more of these to my Summer TBR list...

Keyes is great for some good chick lit. I love the books she writes that center on the Walsh sisters - those are my favorite. As for Something Borrowed and Somthing Blue- Loved them both! I'm looking forward to the movie version of Something Borrowed - should be fun!I've never seen those vampire books you mentioned. I'm still trying to get through the Sookie Stackhouse ones. I'm barely on the first one.
My 2 favorite chick-lit authors are Jennifer Weiner and Anna Maxted. I'm not a huge chick-lit fan, but they are a fun distraction sometimes!

I forgot they were making the Giffin books into movies, can't wait!

I've never read Anna Maxted. I'll have to give her a try.

I loved 84, Charing Cross Road this summer. A short, easy book to read -- and a cult classic.
I also thought Major Pettigrew's Last Stand was a nice summer read. Gentle and subtle.

I loved The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons which I read in July. I am now reading the second in that same series - Tatiana and Alexander which I think will be equally as good.
My favorite reads this summer have been The Unit and a short story called Mr. Penumbra's Twenty-Four-Hour Book Store and The Passage! Loved those summer reads!
