★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments Z: It is about 433 pages in my nook with little little writing and I pretty much have started to read it for a day in between my other books. I think if the book was in paperback it would be anywhere from 500 to 800 pages long. Haha. Plus for awhile it got a little boring but I may have to pick it back up again because Dr. Van Helsing is now starting to play the vampire hunter part.

I love that book. I took a medieval women's lit course. The other book I really loved from that class was The Book of the City of Ladies. I also loved the letters between Abelard and Heloise. It was so sad, even pathetic, the way she still loved him and he would merely respond as if she were an acquaintance.

message 382: by ɐzzıɹʞ (new)

ɐzzıɹʞ I'm halfway through The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa (The Iron King). After that I'll start Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms, #1) by Kristin Cashore (Graceling) because I just finished Fire (The Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, #2) by Kristin Cashore (Fire) and thought it was good.

Right now, it's only getting a 1.5 rating, but it may get better along the way. It's more stupid than witty to me, but there are a few funny parts. I've got about 5 good quotes so far. :).

I'm working on finishing some of my currently-reading books, since I have 3 that will be going for a while on Daily Lit. I expect to finish Just Like Someone Without Mental Illness Only More So: A Memoir today or tomorrow, When I Was Puerto Rican and The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries are Failing and What Can Be Done About It within a week or so. I'm on disk 12 of 18 for Tree Of Smoke, so that's probably 2 or 3 weeks depending how much I'm in the car. My reading always falls off in the fall because I have assignments to grade.

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments Ugh! It seems I have hit a reading rut! I usually finish at least one book in a weeks time and I have barely read 100 pages in the last week. Anybody have a good remedy for this. Maybe I am getting a little better already though. The last two days is when I have read about 80 of the pages.

I usually put down what I'm reading and just read something light. Something I really want to read, regardless of when it's due back at the library or how many books are ahead of it in the pile. I think I'm going to do that, as soon as I finish the three books that are due back at the library within the next three days.

message 395: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading The Book Thief

It's fantastic. I'm almost done. It's one of the greatest books I've ever read, I'm thinking.

Would anyone be interested in doing a buddy read with me?

Do you like the Once Upon a Time series? I enjoy it- they're very original versions of the fairytales we all came to know and like.

I go through that too Meghan!! When I first started reading Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros and there would be days where I wouldn't read the book and days where I read the book. I eventually started reading about 50 to 70 pages sometimes, depending on how interesting the book is and now I'm starting to read the book almost everyday!
