I like country - but there aren't many names I recognize there. They must really be sucking hind tit when it comes to booking talent.

Ah, now I get it. Last I heard, Kracker was one of Kid Rock's boys.

By the way, I'm headed up to your area this weekend. If I have some downtime in Wayne County, what's not-to-miss as far as historical sites, reataurants, etc.? Please keep in mind that I have no intention of going anywhere near Detroit. If you need reasons, they are the following:
1. It's Detroit
2. I hate large cities
3. It's Detroit
4. I don't know my way around
5. It's Detroit
6. I don't have a permit to carry concealed in Michigan
7. Well, you know.

Let's see, Wayne County but outside Detroit city limits...not too much. All the good restaurants are there as well.
Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village (they're right next to each other) in Dearborn should satisfy your craving for history.
It's not in Wayne County, but a short drive (30 miles or less) west on I-94 will take you to Ann Arbor.
There's also a lot to do in uber-trendy Royal Oak, just north of the city, actually in Oakland County. That's probably your best bet for clubs and/or restaurants.

Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against country music or the people who go apeshit for it (I grew up on a steady diet of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Roy Acuff, and Ernest Tubb courtesy of my parents), but the crowd that was sitting around waiting for Uncle Kracker (who booked him for a country gig anyway?) to hit the boards looked as if it may have been short a chromosome or two. Or maybe they had a few extra.
I couldn't wait to get the hell out of Dodge er, Detroit.
