Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Thank you, Beth! And wow, that sounds really exciting! Rhys did seem like a lot of fun and extremely down-to-earth from her blog, which I've been following faithfully; I'm glad to know it's true! I love finding out that authors whose books I'm a fan of are lovely people in real life. She has a truly packed schedule, but it'd be amazing if she ever found time to join us here.

Bobbi, hope you enjoy your visit to Australia! You'll have to get your beach reads ready, because it'll be quite hot by Christmas. Funnily enough, I don't think I've read any cozies by Aussie authors. The most "Australian" cozy I've read is G'Day to Die by Maddy Hunter, set in the Aussie outback and quite a fun read.

Hannah, if you want to read a cozy set in Australia, pick up Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series (best read in order, if you can.) I'm always reminded of Daisy Dalrymple and Lady Georgiana when I read them, though I don't think the characters are all that similar. They are good fun reads, all set in Australia, with an interesting set of characters.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) I can second Sherry's recommendation Hannah - Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series is one of my all time favorites. Of course I get an added kick from them b/c I live in Melbourne - not quite the same for a Sydney-sider. ;-)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Ooh, that sounds like just my kind of thing! The mention of Lady Georgiana and Daisy Dalrymple clinched the deal; I adore them both. I'm off to the library later today, so I'll see whether I can find the first one. Thanks for the rec, Sherry and Jennifer!

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 14 comments Thank you Beth and Sue T. for the nice welcome. Anyone know of some good mysteries set in Australia or New Zealand?

message 1006: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 661 comments Welcome to Robin (your book is on my TBR list!), Bobbi (I'll look forward to your book!), Diana, Hannah, Jean and Anne. I'm certain you'll find lots of great reading suggestions here!

If you like cozies, you would definitely enjoy Malice Domestic (shameless plug). I always have fun getting to chat with lots of my favorite authors - and they're all so nice to keep writing so I'll have plenty of reading material! LOL I wish I could give everyone a free ticket for the weekend but I spend most of my money on books so... The good news is that next year, the hotel rates are the same all weekend (not higher on Weds/Thurs).

Enjoy this group, please! Mystery writers are some of the greatest folks around! : )

message 1007: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 661 comments And thanks for the nice comments, Beth! Our Malice photog (my pal Greg) took about 5,000 pics so we should have some up on the website in the next week or so!

Ann Babcock Hi Everyone! My name is Ann and I live on the coast of Washington in a small fishing village half way between Seattle and Portland. I just love cozies because I feel that they are more interesting and are a lighter read than your full mysteries. I especially love ones with dogs or cats or both seeing that I have 3 large dogs and 8 cats at home. I look forward to being in this club and meeting everyone. (I hope I am doing this right).

message 1015: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 2 comments Hi - my names's Jo and I live in the UK. Always loved reading and found this website while looking for reviews for new books to read (for the kindle my family bought me in the desperate attempt to not buy more bookshelves). I spotted this group and had to join I've always loved mysteries from Enid Blyton's Famous Five as a kid, moving on to Agatha Christie as a teenager, many more since and most recently Cleo Coyle Coffee house mysteries.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Welcome Ann and Jo. There is no end to the recommendations for cozies and almost-cozies you'll find here. We're an active group and collectively we keep the market for bookshelves in business. :) Hope you enjoy!

I live in Austin, I'm a big cozy fan, and I'm always looking for great new authors. I'm also new to Goodreads, and I was so excited to find this group. message 1043: by Jen (new)

Jen (JenD_Author) Hello! I just joined Goodreads today. It's far overdue. :) I saw this group and had to have a look. Mystery is my favorite genre and I enjoy paranormal mysteries the most. I just finished E.J. Copperman's An Uninvited Ghost. Really enjoyed both books in that series. They were both fun, easy reads.

Alex Sinclair Hello everyone, I am Alex, I am a romantic suspense author and a fan of mystery books. I didn't actually know this group was here! The mystery group was... a mystery!

I am from the U.K. I currently have two books out that seem to live in the top 100 kindle rankings, which is nice. I love to read and since getting my kindle I have been through more books in a month than I did in the whole of last year, lol. I am really happy to be here and I look forward to getting to know you all.
