Oh no! Sorry Heidi, yeah it was a day only!! I sold more books than I ever have in a day before, by far! LOL it was a fun day.

Started Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout while finishing Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 836 comments Aww thank you!! I was seriously having a heart attack (OK, not seriously seriously but it felt like it!) when The Sun Dwellers hit #41 on Action/Adventure bestsellers on Kindle. Of course that lasted about 36 hours and now it's out of the top 100, but it was still my moment of glory!! Mwahahahaha!

I still need to finish Moon Dwellers ... I have it on my Kindle, but I've barely been reading at all lately thanks to school. >_< The semester is ending in a week though, so I can get back to it soon!

That's awesome, David!

I'm still working on The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . I love Maggie but this is a strange book. Kind of reminds me of On Jellicoe Road in that it is very confusing. Ugh.

Hopefully it ends as well as Jellicoe Shannen! I am feeling super lost reading Quintana of Charyn (Lumatere Chronicles, #3) by Melina Marchetta because I can NOT remember anything from books one and two!!

Oh yeah, I need to finish that. I love it so far, although I agree, it kind of feels like one big puzzle. That aspect also reminds me a bit of Jellicoe.

message 3510: by [deleted user] (new)

Heidi - I don't remember anything from the first book which is why I haven't read the second one. Haha!

Brigid - Yes, it is one big puzzle. I finally got to a part in the book where I feel like things might be fitting together a little more. Trying to figure out the boys is difficult.

Aww thank you! Not sure how far you got, but if you didn't get that far, I've recently released a new edition with some changes that reviewers think have made it a better book. You might want to download the new version. Can you do that on your Kindle? If not, I'd be happy to send you a coupon code for Smashwords to make sure you get the most recent version :) Thanks again for your amazing support!

Thanks!! Ooh, I like strange sometimes, depending on how strange. I still really want to read it, I hear she makes up a lot of words in it?

Two things - please vote on the poll for our Jan read (aka Bluemoon's kind of pick). Also if anyone has any ideas on how to breath some new life into the monthly reads and/or how they are picked please let me know! I think we need to spruce things up. Some thoughts I have had are that group members are allowed to pick a book that they love but is obscure or no one they know has read, or group members get to pick a book each month in 2013 (one person per pick). Not sure if these sound crazy I am just trying to think of things!

The main thing about group members picking would be that I would request that the book be readily available to both print and ereaders and not be a sequel in a series.

Thoughts - ideas??

Hmm well I started reading again today and I'm like a fourth of the way through it, so I guess it depends on where the changes are. Haha. But anyway, I really like it so far. :D

I like the idea of members picking obscure books and/or books they like (or want to read) that not many other people have read. Maybe we could do something like that every other month? And how would do we determine who gets to pick?

LOL thanks! Hmmm, hard to explain what I changed without giving it away. I cleaned up a few consistency issues that I missed during the beta stage, but they weren't too major. I did, however, make the mystery around Adele and Tristan's strange connection more clear that it's not insta-love. That was the biggest issue I found is that my hints were previously too subtle so most of my reviews knocked a star or two off for insta-love LOL when I always had bigger plans for the relationship. But it's up to you, I'm glad you're enjoying it either way and plenty of people enjoyed the first version even if they didn't like what they thought was "insta-love"

message 3517: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 2471 comments Mod
Ah, okay. Makes sense. I don't think it's really insta-love, more like just a strong mutual intrigue ... Haha. I tend to think of "insta-love" as being more like when two characters say they're madly in love with each other after they've known each other for like two days. That kind of thing. :P

Well we could either put up a poll with everyones picks OR we could decide ahead of time who gets to pick the book for each month??

What do you mean about the polls? That we would include everyone's suggestions rather than cutting it off at five?

But yeah, I like the idea of choosing someone ahead of time to pick the book.

message 3521: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
We would pick the first 5 choices and put up a poll. I like the idea of everyone getting a pick though.

Lol you weren't alone! And my hints were pretty subtle so it's completely understandable. It's like I thought my readers would just read my mind :P Stupid stupid stupid (hitting my head against the wall). But that's ok! Because of well-intentioned comments like yours the book is much better now :) So thanks!!

I just went back and reread those parts on the newer version, David. Perfect! I missed it in the first book and really didn't catch on to that connection between Adele and Tristan until much later in the series. Glad I saw this thread and got a chance to reread! Mucho better!
