Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "Creepy and comic? Sounds interesting!"I should specify: Through the Woods was creepy and was a comic, not creepy and comical haha. There wasn't much cheerfulness in it, but it was pretty good nonetheless.
eh. I just read it cause the book is a duology. So might as well.
Actually in fairness this scared me more than Anna Dressed in Blood did.

Anna Dressed in Blood debate: I actually LOVED the first one. The second one was a big letdown compared to the first. It was so meh! Definitely a skippable book!
Anna dressed in blood: not interested in this book at all. I do not like being scared so this is not for me.I enjoy action but not scaryness.
ODA: It's actually not that scary and I'm a super scaredy cat. I'm not forcing you to read it, just letting you know in case you're interested ^_^

Yay! One of my favorite audiobooks ever. Will was the best choice ever for narrators (besides of course Kristen Bell for Veronica Mars).

I was so sure I've read this book, but now that I'm half way into it I seriously don't remember anything about it

I'm in love with all the 80s references and gamer geekness. and Wil is perfection. I'm only halfway through disc 2 lol. THIS BOOK IS MY NEW OBSESSION. WHAT IS CROAK.
Bluemoon wrote: "ODA: It's actually not that scary and I'm a super scaredy cat. I'm not forcing you to read it, just letting you know in case you're interested ^_^"I've seen it compared to Supernatural a few times, which is really the main thing that made me want to read it.

Wow. I looked that up and there seems to be a lot of controversy with that one! I love Agatha Christie so let me know if her predecessor does a good job in your opinion.

Glad you liked Anna (Anna) - it was just ok for me. Not sure why I didn't connect with it totally.

HEIDI: I finished it and it's good. Its pretty interesting as far as the mystery goes.
ODA: Oooo..I have that book too! I just couldn't start it. Just the thought of someone else writing Poirot, besides the queen of mystery, is scary.
ANNA: just finished that book...Girl of Nightmares. I still wasn't sold on the romance part O_O

Finished
and absolutely loved it.Am reading the firsts trueblood book right now
And am debating on what to start. I have so many I can pick up.
Among the top contenders are:
What should I pick!?
Bluemoon wrote: "HEIDI: I finished it and it's good. Its pretty interesting as far as the mystery goes. ODA: Oooo..I have that book too! I just couldn't start it. Just the thought of someone else writing Poirot, ..."
Heidi: looks like an impossible romance in Girl of Nightmares. Gosh, is Jestine annoying! competitive too. I miss the snarky Cas, the one that doesn't take things seriously. And the all powerful, white-dressed, dripping-blood Anna is now cowering in pain. It's still a breathless read, full of suspense, scary corpses in the woods, but not as good as first one. I'm two-thirds on it and can't literally put it down!

Yay Kaylani is back and reading! Loved Curious Incident as well :) I 100% vote for Will Grayson if my vote counts! I was not a huge fan of the True Blood books so I hope you like it more than I did

Glad to have you back Kaylani!
I just started an Around the World book from another one of my groups Hate is Such a Strong Word
which I was originally excited about because it is from an Aussie author (which I normally love) but my other friends who have read it are not in love so my excited has been dampened somewhat.

I finished
last night. Really liked it, but in this particular story that had a lot more to do with plot than character. I will say, I heard Emma Watson is supposed to play the lead character in a movie and I just cannot see that. Then this morning I read 3 of the 6 Amulet graphic novels
I don't know how many of you guys read comics/gn's, but this series would technically count as YA and has an awesome female lead many seem to be in search of. Plus it's just so good.Up next I'll probably read
Tommy I have never really read any graphic novels. Not sure why. I used to love comics when I was younger so you would think I'd want to at least try graphic novels.
ANNA: I think the only thing I really liked in Girl of Nightmares was the suicide forest. That was way too creepy!
Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "Tommy I have never really read any graphic novels. Not sure why. They're a fun, different kind of read so I try to stay on the lookout for any that seem interesting.
I think perhaps I have too many regular books in my tbr pile Tommy so haven't wanted to start adding a whole new type/genre of book!
Haven't updated in awhile!
was just okay for me. I liked it, but I wasn't over the moon with it. I will continue the series, because its Ally Carter!I finished the
and overall I really liked it. It was a well written, strong book with some great myths and storytelling. The ending was a pretty open ended ending, though, so if you don't like that, you might not like it. Also read
and I struggled through the first half. The second half was awesome, though, and I really ended up liking the read and this strange Oz that the author made!Right now I'm reading
which I'm really enjoying, and getting ready to start

Kaylani, I loved The Curious Incident. I read all the true blood books, and I love Charlaine Harris. I thought the books were a lot of fun. My favorite series by her, though, is the Harper Connely series-just 4 books-I love them! And her new book, last year, I LOVED!!! Midnight Crossroads.
My book club just read a biography of Marvin Gaye, Divided Soul. It was good, but so sad. Now I am starting When You Reach Me, which I have read really good things about. And my book club is going to be doing The Rosie Project. I am really excited about both of those-yay!!! :)

Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "I liked both When You Reach Me and The Rosie Project - both are also excellent on audiobook :)"Yay! I am glad to hear they will be good! Tonight I will start! :D
Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "I need to read a Dean Koontz book Jenny. You all seem to love him."Yes, you should try him! I'd start with Odd Thomas, that's my favorite :) And a fun series!
Heidi (Yup. Still here.) wrote: "I think perhaps I have too many regular books in my tbr pile Tommy so haven't wanted to start adding a whole new type/genre of book!"Totally understandable. Also, if you dive into Koontz, all I've read is some Odd Thomas books, but I can recommend them pretty heavily.
