What We're Reading on Our Kindles ...
I'm almost done with I'm No Monster: The Horrifying True Story of Josef Fritzl and No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington. After these two books, I'm going to read a long
novel. I love books, and my kindle. I can't imagine my reading life without it.
The past few days I decided to read some of the books I bought cheap to download on my Kindle. First, I read the romantic thriller "Heritage" by Johnny Ray. The story was ok, but this guy really needs to get himself an editor. I had a really hard time looking past all the typos, misspellings and other grammatical errors. The writing style and dialogue was also quite juvenile. 1.5 stars
Then, I read Lethal People by John Locke. Kind of a silly James Bond-ish tale...very improbable, but entertaining nonetheless. Read the entire book in about 2-3 hours. 3.5 stars
I'm currently reading a short story, vicious circle by Todd Ritter. I love mystery novels set in small towns. Ritter has written two novels in his excellent series to date, and I'm looking forward to more. Meanwhile I found this ebook short.
Reading "Eating For Beauty" by David Wolfe. Halfway through and I can't put it down. I'm on health food info overload and I love it.
I've just finished reading Something Nice, by Andrew K Lawston. It's a brilliant anthology of his short stories, thoroughly enjoyable and worth every penny at only 72p for the kindle.
When you buy books for the kindle cheaply you worry that the books going to be rubbish. But this is certainly not the case with this book. Go read it and it'll provide you with some lovely bedtime reading. A review can be round on the amazon website.

This morning I finished Abide with Me - Ian Ayris. Now I am going to see what the hype is about and read Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James
I downloaded the free e-book Critical Mass through my membership to ereadernewstoday.com, which posts free Kindle books available daily on Amazon. I prefer suspense/thriller mystery novels, so a quick look at the description made me think this book would be an interesting read. To my surprise, it was an okay read, awkward transitions and nothing special in creating conflict, but its real purpose was to the promote the anti-abortion, Pro-Life agenda. It starts off as any other thriller novel, but as you near the end it quickly ups the rhetoric to a stridently Pro-life agenda, and even includes a afterword by the author citing supposed research on why abortions are evil. So, reader beware. I posted this to this group merely to offer this warning about the agenda of this book.

I think that might be more effective for reaching potential readers of this book.
I've just finished reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch and I'm about to start The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.

.I got Ignition because it was advertized here as free but I was not impressed with the book at all.
I'm now reading God Don't Make No Mistakes by Mary Monroe on my Kindle. I'm getting my summer reading list together.
I am currently reading Zane Grey's "Riders of the Purple Sage" which is a free book. Would love to read the next Dean Koontz "Odd Thomas" novel (Odd Apocalypse) due out in July 2012 but the $14 Kindle price is ridiculous. Maybe some rich sucker will let me know how it is.

Mine seems to have the latest bestsellers rather than older books.
I've finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks earlier and now I'm starting Seven Up by Janet Evanovich.
Alright I am done reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth (it's so freaking good..) and now I am starting on Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James (I already read the first book months ago)
Last night I finished Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James. It was an intense books. It had me crying, laughing and even cringing at the events of Mr Grey and Ms Steele. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James.
I've just started
by Susanna Kearsley. I previously read and really loved
so I'm hoping this will be good.
I'm reading

Yesterday, I finished reading Seven Up by Janet Evanovich and today I've started The Client by John Grisham.
Karen M wrote: Have you tried digital downloads through your local library, that is if they offer them? Just for reference figures there is a waiting list of 290 people for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" Kindle book and the fewest on a waiting list is 25. The interface for finding Kindle books is very poor also and you pretty much have to enter the name of a book you might want. You can't browse through the books to find something you like.
I read Twilight by WILLIAM GAY and it gave me a shudder I have never felt before. Very dark Gothic southern lit. Description is amazing. Gay passed away in February...now must own his whole collection. Worth your time but be warned. Did I mention the shudder?

Mobipocketreader does the job as well, but I think Calibre is easier for the file transfers and editing the metadata (title, author, etc).
I have finished Fifty Shades Freed - E.L. James. Now I am reading Quenched, A Paranormal Romance - Z.L. Arkadie.
I've finished reading The Client by John Grisham last night and now I'm reading Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon.

My digital library is handled by Overdrive and I can select a genre or look at everything available. Sorry yours is not so user friendly.

Available copies: 0 (1154 patron(s) on waiting list) Library copies: 25
LOL Glad I don't really want to read that one!
I just got done reading Fifty Shades Darker.. and it was interesting.. now I'm about to read Fifty Shades Freed.

I'm 70% of the way through "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro and so far it's very good.
Best wishes, Stephen Livingston.
