I enjoy historical fiction of the WW2 era especially when infused with historically accurate facts. Philip Kerr, Robert Harris etc

Good Morning from California,My name is Jeff and I am an avid Military History enthusiast, especially regarding WWII and many other great campaigns of the past. I am currently awaiting orders to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training for the Air Force. I recently switched to the Air Force after serving 10 years in the Army as an Airborne Infantryman. I look forward to all the discussions and book recommendations. I am currently on the final book in Jeff Shaara's trilogy on WWII, and have Heinz Guderians "Panzer Leader" on deck. Pleasure to meet you all.

Nice to have another Californian in the group! Welcome aboard, Jeff!
Hi Jeff and a warm welcome to the group. I wish you all the success on your training with the Air Force plus I hope you enjoy "Panzer Leader", I loved that book when I read it back in the 1980's.
Hi all,My name is Karen. I am interested in just about anything in history, but WWII has been a particular favorite time period for a long time. There is so much I don't know about it.

Good morning to all. I am an avid reader of military history, in particular ww2 aviation. My favourite author is Max Hastings (have read Catastrophe, Armageddon, Retribution, Inferno & Korean War). Read several general ww2 histories but am currently reading Dk’s World War Two Day by Day. Will post a review once i’m done.
Hi Raymond and welcome to the group. Very hard to beat Max Hastings as an author/historian! He has quite a few followers here in the group :)

See his book on Vietnam as well, I assisted him with setting up meetings with some heavy hitters, especially former USMC commandant Gen Al Gray, and others. he does deep research, and likes to go to the living sources when possible, like me.

Yes, am eagerly awaiting his new Vietnam book. Very sure it will be full of little nuggets of information as most of his books are. My to read list has grown exponentially since i discovered the joys of e-retail. Ebay has both been a boon & a bane for me; a boon for the sheer variety of affordable out of print books & a bane because limited budgets means limited purchase options!

Hi there. I'm 81 and therefore a witness to WW2 events. After 20 years of effort and research I'm writing a trilogy. Tracing the odyssey of a Czech refugee family (my own) from Prague, through Germany to Britain. The first 2 novels have been published and are on Amazon and Goodreads. The Dragontail Buttonhole, and Cafe Budapest ( April 2018). Cafe Budapest describes the family's year in France (1940) and the relatively unknown evacuation of thousands of Czech and Polish troops from the south of France. The third book describes the family in the midst of the Blitz and then D-day. Its a mix of adventure, intrigue and family drama- and most of it is true! Good Amazon ratings. I'm interested in books about refugees in the UK in 1941-1945, and also in the manufacture of tanks and gun decoys. www.petercurtisauthor.com

Thank you Geevee. Have posted on the Mediterranean Theater discussion and gotten a recommendation. Hoping for other areas of Greece as well, since most of my reading about Greece has been fiction.
