I like the series very much too, Marjorie. I've only read the first two so far, but I've got that one on my bookshelf to read. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm currently just over half way through The Water Man's Daughter, a mystery set in South Africa that I'm enjoying. I'm about to start The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K. Dick.

I liked the first book of the series enough to want to read the second, but I doubt now that I'll get to it. The ebooks for this series are ridiculously overpriced for some reason. The second book was released almost 3 years ago and I'm still waiting for it to drop below $10.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9999 comments I finished That Will Do Nicely by Ian Wallace Campbell. In this book, Tom Pascoe, left in debt by his vindictive ex-wife, devises a get-rich-quick scheme to forge traveler's checks. The fascinating forgery plan is well-detailed....made me wish I knew how to be a forger. :)

Oh! How is Kinsey and Me? It was sitting there on the shelf at the bookstore and I was tempted. My fear of commitment kicked in, though and I didn't buy it.

Is it a worthy read? Will I merely become saddened? Does she hint about future Kinsey books? (WAIT! Don't answer that.)

Terri-Lynne Smiles (tlsmiles) | 5 comments I recently finished The Silla Project The Silla Project by John C. Brewer . I read this when it came out last summer, but with North Korea testing missiles and nuclear bombs, I wanted to read it again. It's a thrilling read (although I skimmed a chapter that was mostly physics)and gives me a perspective on North Korea that makes the news originating there both chilling and pathetic. I recommend it if you want something to think about (and a good story).

Susan Oleksiw | 65 comments I just finished Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell. I seem to be on an Orwell kick, reading his lesser known novels. I also recently finished Burmese Days. Both books are full of interesting characters, and a thoroughly unsentimental look at life (the poor in the first and colonials in the second).

Susan Oleksiw | 65 comments I am impressed that other readers have Orwell's two earlier books, lesser known ones too, on their shelves. My fiction library is sorely lacking. Right now I'm reading a collection of short stories, "Video" by Meena Nair.

how's that working out for you? i really liked it, though i was worried that title and the main character's name were just too cute. would like to know that others think of the series.

I enjoyed Whiskey Sour and plan to read others in the series. I liked the relationship between Jack and her partner Herb.

Joanne | 19 comments I just finished listening to The Dead Shall Not Rest (Dr. Thomas Silkstone, #2) by Tessa Harris , which was quite good, although I think I liked the first book, The Anatomist's Apprentice (Dr. Thomas Silkstone, #1) by Tessa Harris a bit better. I finished reading Bone River by Megan Chance , a rather mystical mystery that was just excellent!
