That's exactly what I like about her books. She does it better than anyone.
I just finished reading Cover of Snow by Jenny Milchman. While there were some major issues with the writing itself, I was very impressed with Milchman's originality. She is definitely one to watch. Now I'm reading Fatal Decree by H. Terrell Griffin. This is the latest in the Matt Royal series. Griffin has never let me down in the past, so I look forward to reading this one.
i am a little confused about this group. but i guess i will just follow along with what everyone else is doing. i just finished reading "Take the monkeys and run" by karen cantwell and it was amazing which is book one in the series. i am currently reading "citizens insane" which is book number two by Karen. im on page 74 and it is amazing as well. i hate to put it down!!!!! these r both mysteries and some of the best!!!!!

Couldn't get into All Fall Down - Erica Spindler, so now decided to read Priced to Move - Ginny Aiken.
I finished Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell. I thought it was okay. I'm currently reading Deadman's Poker by James Swain
I just finished Ngaio Marsh's Death in Ecstasy and enjoyed very much. It's the 3rd Inspector Alleyn mystery I've read in January and it's been a most interesting journey. Alleyn is a very interesting police inspector, humourous, intelligent and ruthless. I plan to read one more Marsh mystery in January, just starting Artists In Crime, the 6th Alleyn mystery. I'm also currently enjoying a Michael Gilbert mystery, Close Quarters, about halfway through.
Just finished The Black Box by Michael Connelly. It was really good! Now I'm gonna start V is for Vengeance. It's been awhile since i've read a Kinsey Millhone book and i'm loooking forward to spending time with her. :)
Just finished A Letter of Mary by Laurie R. King. I am so enjoying her series featuring Mary Russell and her partner/husband Sherlock Holmes. The series is wonderfully set in time and place and Mary is brillliant. A delightful change from the usually depressed and lonely female crime fighters.
I just finished...
And downloaded the next book in the series straight away, but first I'm going to read...
Curlyhair wrote: "Just finished Long Lost by Harlan Coben. Absolutely fantastic."He is simply a wonderful author!!
I finished What the Cat Saw by Carolyn Hart. It's a cozy about sabotage, theft, and murder at an environnental corp. A telepathic cat provides the main clue - good light read.

reading Desert Places by Blake Crouch. Serial killer, pure evil, but compelling book. I definitely want to continue this series. any other fans here?
I just finished Deadman's Poker by James Swain. This is such a great fun fast pace series. I'm now back to reading Mitch Rapp. Currently reading Act Of Treason by Vince Flynn
The Man in the Seventh Row by Brian Pendreigh. It's kind of like a movie critic's magical realism romp through classic cinema... and it kind of falls flat. The review is here if anyone is interested.
Currently reading
Bad Move by Linwood Barclay. So far it is kind of funny. I think I like it, but always reserve judgment until the end.
Just finished The Beautiful Mystery
a kind of locked door style chief Inspector Gamache mystery involving monks in a monastery in Quebec and Gregorian chants. Ends with kind of a cliffhanger involving one of the characters.Currently reading
Broken Harbor. This is supposed to have a dark storyline--we'll see.
I am currently reading Zoo by James Patterson. Fans of James Patterson will not be disappointed. Although, it is not your usual Patterson mystery novel. Nevertheless, a new twist of genre is always healthy for the soul...and readers. Wishing you all the best!
Just finished reading The Secret Keeper. I love her books and although it isn't classified as a mystery it does contain a mystery. I absolutely love her books. I don't usually give 5 stars but her books deserve it.
I'm catching up on one of my favorite series, the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith, with In the Company of Cheerful Ladies
.
Last night I finished Close Quarters, a mystery by Michael Gilbert and I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised. I like it when I go in with no real expectations and it turns out that the book is an enjoyable read. I'm also enjoying Artists In Crime, the sixth Ngaio Marsh mystery and the more I read her books, the more I enjoy them. I'm just starting The Woman in Black by Susan Hill.
This week I am starting on The 5th Horseman by James Patterson
Criminal by Karin Slaughter
The Survivors Club by Lisa Gardner
Improbable Cause & Paradise Lost by J.A. Jance
Taylor wrote: "Joanne: I just checked Burning Man by Alan Russell out of the library. Let me know if it's good!"I really liked it, Taylor! My review really doesn't do it justice. What's interesting is that when I was posting my review to Amazon, I saw that he and Michael Connolly are friend/acquaintances. I hope you like it as much as I did!
I just finished
as an audible book. Really gripping! There's some romance, but it didn't get in the way of the exciting plot and the constant twists. I'm starting
, which I won here at Goodreads!
I'm reading The Sins of the Father by Jeffrey Archer and I'm loving it. It is book 2 of 3 of The Clifton Chronicles and I can't wait for the 3rd one to come out. I love his books, they never disappoint!
Finally tracked down a copy of Red Harvestby Dashiell Hammett and really enjoyed it. Less a mystery than a tale of corruption, it is a pretty good read. Way more violent than "The Maltese Falcon."
Bryan wrote: "Just started Rain Fall by Barry Eisler. My first go at one of his books."I enjoyed that one and intend to pick it up as soon as I finish with the Mitch Rapp series.
Just started Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie. Just finished one of Jefferson Bass's Body Farm books The Bone Yard.
Just finished ELLY GRIFFITHS new book Dying Fall You only have to read the first chapter to be hooked, it is a captivating book. A foray once again into the world of forensic archaeologist Ruth and her somewhat unusual, mystic friend, Cathbad; a foray into a thrilling plot that intrigues, fascinates and alarms.
