Last night I finished Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James. It was an intense books. It had me crying, laughing and even cringing at the events of Mr Grey and Ms Steele. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James.

I starteChampagne for One a Nero Wolf book in large print. My eyes are really going. I think it is a bit old fashioned but I am giving it a chance. That makes 3 books at one time. My poor house has to wait to be clean
Just finished my first "Prey" book
and really liked it. The end had me again with palms sweating and frantically turning pages. I will read more of Sandford now. I started Storm Runners
and am again reminded of how great a writer T J. Parker is and how much I enjoy settling in to his style of writing which is unparalleled in this genre, as far as I know. If there are other fans of T.J. who could recommend an equal author in the crime/thriller genre, I would be happy to hear about it.
Finished Die Trying now starting with Tripwire. If you guys want something light to read, this series would be it.
Voltaire wrote: "Finished Die Trying now starting with Tripwire. If you guys want something light to read, this series would be it."If you're reading them in order, you're smart. Great series.

Yeah thanks, always the way, right? The second book actually surprised me 'cause he was not as invincible here as he was in book 1.

Wow! Gatorman, I read Buried Prey and felt the same -now I started Naked Prey is there an order to them?
Currently reading Where Billy Died by Earl Staggs. Looks like it's going to be a fun read. I do love humor.
Okay, I just discovered that Where Billy Died is a short story. I enjoyed it so much that I'm going to see if Earl Staggs has written any novels.
Mina^_^ wrote: "I am reading Uglies by Scott Westerfield (i have no idea hoe to put the book's cover up here)"Mina - Look above the comment box where you wrote your comments - see the "add book/author"? Click that - that's how you add either a link or the book cover....there's more "how to's" in the technical discussion in this group... :-)
Audiobooks have been my friend lately. I've enjoyed Whiskey Sour, Murder On The Yellow Brick Road and An April Shroud.
Currently listening to Wolf to the Slaughter and reading A Carrion Death

I only listened to one audiobook. One of the Kinsey Milhone mysteries and I was disappointed that the voice did not match my mnd's eye of the heart of the alphablet series that I was addicted to
I finished The Night Stalker by James Swain. Another great suspense novel featuring Jack Carpenter. I picked up Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay and Grift Sense by James Swain
Marilyn wrote: "Wow! Gatorman, I read Buried Prey and felt the same -now I started Naked Prey is there an order to them?"Marilyn, I think you have me confused with Tim. He read the Prey book, not me. :)
I have just begun reading
I had already read Birds of a Feather, and a lesson in Secrets. All very good books. The one that I have just started is the first in the series and I recommend it to all. London, aftermath of WWI. Maisie going into the Detective business.
finished GarnethillGarnethillGarnethill Liked, but did not love the book,Exciting throughout but the ending was a bit of a letdown instead of the satisfying finish I was expecting. I felt a bit tricked not in a good way. I like the Scottish words I had to look up and the atmospheric prose of the author and her likable Maureen. Maybe I'm being too picky.

I really like her voice, but I guess if you were reading them first and you already had her voice in your head, I can see how a different voice would cause a problem.
While I am anxiously waiting for the next Bosch book to be available for me to download from the library, I went into my Nook library to pick something I had never read. I picked
by Simon Wood. Normally, when I'm simply reading something just to pass the time & not because I really want to, I find myself not giving it a fair shot so I told myself I wouldn't do that with this one. So far, other than the poor book format on the Nook, it's a really good & complex story! It's not supurb writing or suspense but it's definitely keeping my interest. For it to have only been 99 cents, I definitely feel like it was worth it. Curious to see how it ends! After that, I'll be reading
and I can't wait!! :)
I just started A Carrion Death, introducing a Botswana police detective. I have a soft spot for the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, also set in Botswana. This is a bit different. Not quite so cozy. I am slogging through, ever so slowy, The Egyptologist: A Novel.

She didn't remember much about the first books in the series but she did remember LOVING The Concrete Blonde. I'm dying for it to be available to download!! I'm really enjoying these books!
Just finished
a free download that had a very interesting twist on the spy/agent thriller ... the U.S. government going to the private sector for contract agents.Very good characters, very intriguing plot. My only criticism is that the first half of the book was very slow and provided a lot of information I didn't need. I am hoping this becomes a series however, because I'd like to read more about these characters.
Barbara wrote: "I'm reading Hunter's Moon by Dana Stabenow, a Kate Shugak mystery set in Alaska."I'm reading these all out of order, as I find them at the used book store...I think I read them because of Mutt...I need a Mutt!
I have finished Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Freed - E.L. James.
After being disappointed in The Devil of Nanking I followed the urging of several friends and picked up Birdman what a reward. This was a solid mystery/ police procedural. I will be reading more.
Read first chapter of Naked Prey and it depressed me so much I couldn't go on. The hanging was gruesome. This is not a spoiler as it is on the blurb. I liked buried prey so I am tres disppointed. I remember reading an amazon review that said all his books are the same. Does anyone agree, disagree. ps I had nightmares last night
finished champagne for oneChampagne for One and though some of the language was dated what language it is. Rex Stout is/was a genius wordsmith. loved the book
just read
. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved the top good guy. Starting
, my second "Prey" book
I'm currently reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and just started The Coroner's Lunch, a new mystery series for me.. Enjoying both so far.
I recently finished Falling Angel by William Hjortsberg. It's a classic hardboiled mystery/horror tale originally published in 1978 but now being re-released. You can check out my review of the novel here (it was quite good). And if the book looks like something that will trip your trigger, please consider signing up for the giveaway. There's a free ebook copy up for grabs, and all you have to do is fill out the rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the review.
I just looked it up on Amazon and it sounds like a courtroom thriller. Thank you for suggesting it Malina. I will check it out.
@Rachel, I thought it started out slow, but liked how the story switched back and forth from courtroom to actual story. The ending was quite unexpected though.
I agree Malina, I read it also, and thought the same thing about it starting slow. I did stick with it and ended up really enjoying it. And like you, I did not see the ending coming at all and was quite surprised!!
