I have never heard of her, defintely going to find them. Thanks so much.

Our library only had Dandy Gilver and the Proper Treatment of Bloodstains on hand. I'm impatient so I checked it out. I really enjoyed it, but did wish I had read the first one first. I think it could have been read on it's own. But I didn't finish it and am on the lookout for the first. So, I've got no real advice, just my own experience to share.

That is the only one I have been able to get so far Renee but I might have to order the first one. I do prefer to read series in order if I can.

I have..."
The first one is called An Expert in Murder and is a really good read.

I found that as well Stefanie. I haven't picked up anymore of her books since.

I like it. Anything by Baldacci is good. The only one I didn't like that I couldn't finish was True Blue.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought True Blue was beyond horrible.

I agree PC seems to have lost her way. I think Scarpetta has become a thoroughly unlikeable character.

I've read a couple of the early ones, Body Farm, Body of Evidence. I enjoyed them. What's come over KS to make her unlikable? Did she toss out her neice?

LOL! No she hasn't tossed out her niece. In fact Lucy has become equally 'unlikeable'. I really enjoyed her early books too. PC appears to have lost the plot around book 11 or 12 when she did something which to me was unnecessary, unbelievable and frankly quite ridiculous. I won't say what that was in case you decide to read more. Suffice to say the recent books have been light on plot and heavy on the emotional baggage carried around by the main characters.

(laughing) I completely agree. More misery than mystery, and the books did lose luster after the silly event.

After the third one, I suspected Scarpetta was going to hook up with Mitch Rapp. Is that the silly event you are keeping secret?

Jiminy Cricket!! (shudder) What a thought!! (laughing)

Last man standing was a fantastic book. My favourite books by Baldacci's are his Maxwell and King stories!

I totally agree about the Scarpetta books I stopped reading them about the same time, I don't know why Lucy had to become such an unpleasant character -glad it isn't just me. :)
Finished reading Rogue Island which I really enjoyed. A hardend newspaper reporter investigates a series of fires (arsons?) in his hometown of Providence, RI. Crisp writing and some quirky characters with touchs of wry humor.
I also listened to Chasing Vermeer, a YA or even childrens book. Fans of From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Faithwather would enjoy this.

Almost as silly but lets say it was straight out of a day time soap! Almost as bad as Bobby Ewing and the shower scene for those of us that remember Dallas!

@Dieter, I read the first one,
The Case of the Missing Servant and enjoyed it. I do plan to read the others at some point. I can relate to them b/c I am also from India, Punjabi, just like Vish Puri.
Have you read any of the A Most Peculiar Malaysian Murder series? I would like to try those too.

I've only read
T is for Trespass so far and enjoyed it. I only read the ones where the storyline interests me.

I have put it on my TBR list -- sounds great :)

I have read both of hers and loved the style x

Shelter -- Coben is one of my favorite authors and this was his first foray into YA. Review posted.
The Sixes -- this was the first book I read by White but it won't be the last. Good suspense.
Creep -- LOVED this book. Can't believe it was a debut. Review posted.

I thought Creep was amazing too. More so I think because this could actually happen.

I'm really looking forward to her next one,
Freak. It's supposed to be a sequel. But it's not coming out til August :(

You won't be sorry x"
Thanks for the reco's :). Looking forward to them. But I need more books in my TBR pile like I need a hole in my head! But I can't stop myself.

Besides, I am always checking our library sale shelves and thrift store bookshelves.
Finally, I'm a magazine subscription junkie(MANY subscriptions and yet never enough), another source for my TBR list.

Bulwer-Lytton ??

I went through a Lee Child kick and am now caught up. They are all very good books.

I really liked the first, A Most Peculiar Malaysian Murder. It was a great plot--with interesting plotlets--and a likeable detective in the middle of the action.
I haven't gotten to the second--A Bali Conspiracy Most Foul-- which sends our intrepid investigator to Bali after a terrorist bombing of a nightclub. But now that you've reminded me....

I have recently bought the first two books of Tarquin Hall's Vish Puri series and am quite looking forward to reading them. Glad to see you enjoyed. I've also got a series by Colin Cotterill about Dr Siri that looks pretty good.

Awww I'm sorry - keep going if you are enjoying the books. Don't forget it's just my opinion you may not agree with me as you get further through the series. If you do carry on I'd love to know what you think.
