Currently Reading? Just Finished?

I noticed the other day that V is for Vengeance was nominated for the Golden Nugget Award. But The Drop was, as well, and, personally, I thought that Connelly's was the better book.

I've never heard of her. I'll have to put her down on my TBR list. Any idea which one I should start with?

The MC was a FBI agent who hosted 5 personalities. It's kind of funny to see how he worked and talked and lived with his other personalities.
The mystery is good - solving some serial murder cases. You won't find a silent moment reading the book, you will have the feeling that you were at a party the whole time. LOL.

I've tried that, too. But then I drove by a used book store and all my good intentions were for naught! :)

I think One Grave Too Many was the first in the Diane Fallon series, but I'm not sure. I started with one of the newer ones and then went back later.

I am starting my next Montanari... Rosary girls.

I'm the same way. The thrift stores here sell them for 50 cents and then on the last Tuesday of the month they are 25 cents. It is hard to pass them by at that point!!! My husband clearly doesn't understand.

I too will check her books out, thanks Marja.

Just finished Gail Bowen, highly recommend her. She knows how to weave a plot and you end up loving her main character Joanne as she is so, well so real? also i don't know the end before it happens, full of surpises.
Anyone read McCall-Smith's Isabel Dalhousie series? i have tried to get into this series but I just can't connect with the ultra rich philosophical Dalhousie

Ahahaha!!!!! Laurin, I feel your pain!"

me neither, I always keep buying new ones ;)"
It's so hard not to! There are so many new and interesting books that I want to read. The problem with my physical TBR is that I bought the books in the span of about 5 years. I might have been interested in something then, but not now. Some of them were gifts or I "borrowed" them from people, so that doesn't help either.

That's funny. Well, you're doing your part for recycling?? :)

Hi Evelyn, I haven't been able to get into the Isable Dalhousie books either but I have enjoyed several of the Scotland Street series.

Hi Cathleen, I read Christine Falls with my in person group a while back and really enjoyed it. Not your typical mystery. Great writing and atmosphere. I read The Silver Swan, the next in the series, and I think there are now 2 more.

I really enjoyed Death Without Company. I keep hearing of a TV movie or series but haven't been able to find it on the schedule.

TV series, has been filmed but not picked up and scheduled yet as I understand. Word is they expect it to be on something this spring/early summer.

That is an excellent book as are the next three in the series.

Glad you liked Blue Hour. Enjoy the Montanari.

I like the Brodie series a lot also. Hope a new one comes out soon.

What a great site this is, I have been looking for something different to read an that's to this discussion 'Kin' is next on my list!

My review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Same here. I haven't read Started Early, Took My Dog as yet. I've heard it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so ideally I'd like the next book in the series to be out before I read it. However, I don't really see myself holding out for that long!

I love JJ Murphy's books. I've reviewed You Might as Well Die and
his first book Murder Your Darlings.

hey Gatorman,
Did you review Kin and if so, how can we read your review? Thanks for mentioning this book. Everything I have read about it rates nothing but excellent... like to get your full opinion, and I plan to read it.

Huh. I adore this series; find Isabel very simpatico. Different tastes, yes? (I do think I would not have been so fond of her when I was younger,)

I've never read Kathy Reichs, as well. There's just so many good authors in this genre I've yet to try...makes my head hurt. (laughing)
