Tragedy is a toughie. Nicholas Sparks works well. He isn't a PNR author, but a very good romance author.
Lenore wrote: "Tragedy is a toughie. Nicholas Sparks works well. He isn't a PNR author, but a very good romance author."Good idea, Lenore! If a book from the romance category is allowed, I may try to read The Last Song.

Yeah The Last Song will work. It can be any genre that ends without and HEA. Not an ongoing series but either a stand alone, or the series does not follow one character.
Well, I could't wait and read "DEAD TOSSED WAVES". For those of you looking for a tragedy, it does fit, but sadly I am gunna have to look for a replacement for my list. 0/9 Complete

Does the Nightside series need to be read in order?
Lenore *--*Phierce*-- * wrote: Does Nightside series need to be read in order?I think it would be best...but the books are fairly self contained. I have been reading them in order and more is revealed about who he is-which is nice-in each book. They are gritty paranormal mysteries so they probobly hold up out of order pretty well though.
Good to know. I am usually pretty good at picking up things in books. The first just did not get good reviews so I would rather jump to the one that sounds interesting.
