Read-a-thon Progress and Discussion - March
Happy reading everyone. I can't participate this weekend as my son and grandson are here visiting, as are some of my neices and nephews and families. As my niece likes to call them, we are having two "fam-jams" one on Saturday and one on Sunday. but I'll check in and cheer you on as time permits. lolPat
Good luck everyone, I couldn't get on to be a reader, but I would like to help with the cheer leading. Come on everyone.
I will be cheerleading too! I'm planning on reading a little bit tonight but I won't count myself as a reader since I can only read for a fraction of the 24 hours. But I wish everyone else good luck!!
I am ready to start reading although I will have to take some breaks for sleep and my daughter's activities.
Woohoo! 8 minutes and counting... Enjoy reading everyone! This next 24 hours is going to be awesome :)
Okay, everyone, start your reading engines! Post updates as often as you can and the cheerleaders will push you on to glory!!!
I want to finsih my current read Undead and Unwed then I'll be moving on to Ransom by Julie Garwood.
Just staking out a "space" on the first page. I plan on updating with every book I finish. Good Luck fellow readers!!
I'm a reader and will be posting updates until I fall asleep! I just started at 7 PM PDT. At dinner, and ready to get reading =D.
Ready for the fun to begin. Already getting a late start but thats ok. I am starting with a chunker, hoping to atleast finish The Host.
I'm ridiculously excited about this. It's so cool that we're all doing the same thing at the same time!
I grabbed my first cup o joe. Foldger's w/ hazelnut creamer. Just about to post my first finished read. Its a short story I meant to read earlier this afternoon but didn't start until after dinner!
hi all,Happy Reading. I am gonna start with Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. I am quite excited about this reading marathon and looking forward for many more events!!!
Happy reading, everyone!Listened to my audiobook Queste for 30 minutes, and am now 30 pp. into White Lies.
It is cool thinking about everyone reading diligently right now! :)I am about 50 pages in but feeling very very sleepy! I have already been distracted by husband and tv and now sleep. I will push on.

That's what we're here for!! To motivate to read and not sleep. LOL!! :) I had to fight that too, after just coming back from a tiring interview. I did catch a nap, but I'm sure a few hours later, I'll be aching for a little more sleep.
First one down...HOW TO WASH A CAT by Rebecca M. Hale
I was already 130 pages into the 295 total.
So that's,
1 book
165 pgs.
by 8:23pm Pacific Standard Time
I will now start on a Dean Koontz's story of his late dog Trixie.
I am being a "good girl" & have started my first read of the marathon - A Crazy Little Thing Called Death I love this series so it was a shoe-in for keeping my attention which is what I needed.....

Sounds like everyone's busy reading.;)I had to start half an hour late so I've been reading for about two hours now, just finished Surfacing, so I'm allowing myself a quick break. It's been on my to-read pile for a while, so I'm grateful for this read-a-thon! Starting on The Princess Bride before bed. I'll get some sleep and read more tomorrow.:)
I am kind of slow... slower than the normal pace of my reading. The tough week is taking a toll on me. Hope I keep up the spirits!!!!!
I've started to read Murder With Peacocks and if I finish it I'm gonna finish off one of the two other books that I'm reading at the moment.
I missed the first hour because my nap went a little long but I have been reading for 2 hours and now that I have had this little break, I have fought off sleep and reading to get back to the book. Reading these posts have definitely helped me get motivated again. Thank you cheerleaders!!!!!!
After four hours I finally finished by first book, Succubus Heat. It was good but not as good as the first 2 books in the series.
I started late. I am 39 pages into The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game. I watched the movie in preparation yesterday, and it is a good thing because without it, I don't think I could have gotten through all of the football jargon of the first couple chapters!
I just finished my first book - Need. I was on page 35 at start of the competition, so that's 271 total pages read so far.I did take a nap for about an hour, so I've been reading for a total of 3 hours so far.
After going to sleep for an hour or so, I finished Undead and Unwed. I only had about 120 to go with that one. I'm moving on to my next book.

I had the opportunity to meet with MJD for a dinner/book club meet last year in November, she writes like she talks. Just hilarious! I recommend you continuing with the series if you enjoyed it. I love them all :)

My left over Thai food was calling me, so I've extended my break, lol! I loved Undead and Unwed. I've just moved Undead and Unemployed up to #1 on my tbr list. I was lucky to get most of the series at the used bookstore a while ago, when another customer recommended the series to me; she insisted I get them all. I am kicking myself now for not starting this series sooner. Undead and Unwed was just what I needed to end the work week. I thought it was funny, and just the right amount of romance and drama. It didn't fall short where a lot of other books that are the 1st in the series do. The world building wasn't all complicated and boring. I also have Sleeping with the Fishes and Derik's Bane, and now I have plans on getting the rest of the books in those series as well.
I just finished Untouched, and 300 pages. Now I'm starting Strange Brew. I'm in California and it's 11:51 p.m.
After 5 hrs. of reading I'm taking my first break. I finished Silent Prey about 11:30, an hour and half into the Read-a-thon. Was gonna start Cold River, but decided on Fallen instead. I'm almost half way through it. Going to get some coffee and read more. Catch ya later.
I am thinking if I should take my sleep break now. I do have an early morn. But I only have to be awake and alert for 2 hours, lol. I can come home and rest if I really need it. I may just rest for a bit, then get back into it. Either way I do need an EYE BREAK after almost 3 hours straight. WTG everyone!!!
Well, I finished my second one a while ago, but had to get into something much lighter to ease the pain. I don't know why I put myself through the misery of animal stories when I know how they are going to end. 2. A BIG LITTLE LIFE: A MEMOIR OF A JOYFUL DOG by Dean Koontz. 271 pgs.
This bring my total at 12:33am PST to:
Two Books
436 pgs.
Books mentioned in this topic
Never After (other topics)Feast of Fools (other topics)
White Lies (other topics)
Born in Ice (other topics)
