Katelyn | 10 comments Currently reading Passing Strange, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Penultimate Peris, The Taste of Night, and Inner Circle. I'm trying to read as much for fun as possible right now because I have to start summer reading soon and I don't know how quickly I'll be able to get that done.

I love her too! Hey, have you read any of Nicky Pellegrino's work? I'm reading 'The Italian Wedding' right now (it's not really YA or Kidlit but still). It's as if Sarah Dessen grew up and moved to Italy. :)

message 1653: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I haven't actually. You say she's as good as/almost as good as Sarah Dessen? I'll have to look her up. :)

message 1654: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Harries (melanieharries) Almost as good! The romances aren't quite as stunning, however her characters are like Sarah's in the way that they are strong young women (though in Nicky's case young means early twenties) and the settings also play a huge part :)

message 1655: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments They sound interesting, I'll definitely look into them at some point. I'm so excited, my dad ordered WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE from B&N last night and it should be here by Friday. :)

message 1656: by Amy (new)

Amy Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

message 1658: by [deleted user] (new)

Currently reading Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger in large print because I lost my reading glasses. :(

message 1659: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments That stinks.

message 1660: by [deleted user] (new)

Thankfully, I have my distance glasses which are the ones I need to be able to legally drive. (I should just get bi-focals, but all of my optometry people say "you're too young".)

message 1661: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Monsters of Men- Patrick Ness.
That man is a genius! Like, really.

My mum bought me that book because I enjoyed The Time Travellers Wife so much... How are you liking it so far (apart from the large printedness)?

No joke :) Those books are magnificent.

I am almost done with The Dead-Tossed Waves, and about to start the final book of that trilogy, The Dark and Hollow Places

I'm really enjoying it and love the large printedness (the ":(" is for losing my glasses. my insurance won't cover a new pair and i can't afford a new pair out of pocket); chose it to discuss at my work's book club tonight. :) Can't wait to finish and review it.

Which is better? Time Travellers Wife or Fearful Symmetry?
Ive got both on my shelf...which should I read first?

message 1666: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I haven't read Her Fearful Symmetry, but I loved the Time Traveler's Wife. Her Fearful Symmetry looks quite interesting, although I don't think I've seen as positive reviews.

message 1667: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Harries (melanieharries) Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favourite books of all time :)

message 1668: by kathrine (new)

kathrine (scarlettshea) | 391 comments Im reading Sweet 16!!! Sweet 16 by Kate Brian

message 1669: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read Time Traveller's Wife yet, because when I first heard about it I really wasn't in the mood for something sad. It's been on my list for awhile, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm really enjoying the darkness & morbidity of Her Fearful Symmetry. It's probably a good thing this is my introduction to Niffenegger's non-graphic novel work.

message 1670: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I've heard about the Time Traveler's Wife. I hear about it a lot, but I don't know much about it.
Is it any good?

I just finished that yesterday! It was amazing!

message 1683: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Which one? I mean, they both are amazing, but which are you saying you finished yesterday?

message 1684: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments What's CoMC? When I see that abreviation my mind jumps to a HP reference. (Care of Magical Creatures). Hahah, I'm sure that I've asked this before but I can be slow at times. ;) lolz

message 1685: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
I am also wondering what CoMC is?

message 1686: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments That's what I thought too Rae.

message 1687: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Hahah, soo.....any idea? It's popped up many times before and I can't figure it out. Cause if it's a book I've read, I've never used that abbreviation before.

message 1688: by Kenny (new)

Kenny (misterbooknerd216) I'm reading Shadowland by Alyson Noel. The 3rd book in the Immortals Series. It's my third time trying to read this book. Only reading it because i want to finish the series and get caught up before Everlasting comes out in a few months

message 1689: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments ★ Jessica ★ wrote: "I am also wondering what CoMC is?"

The Count of Monte Cristo. Only the most amazing book to ever be written. :)

message 1690: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Haahahha, thanks for clearing that up. :) YOu know....We tend to use abbreviations a lot for books and such, maybe we should have a topic devoted to those? Since while most everyone knows that HP is Harry Potter, obviously not everyone knew what CoMC was.

message 1691: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Maybe we should know that. I mean, it's been a classic for a long time.

message 1692: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments But the majority of people actually write it out. Unless you're talking about it a LOT.

message 1693: by Chloe (new)

Chloe R.B. | 2288 comments I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice, which is starting off a little slow for me, but it's beginning to get good.

message 1694: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments That one does start out slow, but it's incredible. I love it. :)
