Story of my life. <3

@Cinnamon The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a great read. It starts out slow, but once you get into it, the pages go by so quickly. I think that type of book is an acquired taste though, because there is plenty of gruesome detail and mature, explicit content.

I appreciated the content of the book, but really, really did not like it for a few reasons and felt that ...Kicked the Hornet's Nest was extremely weak. LOVED ...Played with Fire, though. Best of the trilogy.

Hornet's Nest isn't my favorite either, though I did enjoy it. It's so much slower than the other two.
An acquired taste, huh...? That's an interesting way to describe a book! Thanks Zareen, saintsalike, and Pandy for all the helpful feedback on the Millenium trilogy:).
lol I guess it does sound kind of strange...I just didn't know how else to put it. I feel like the writing style is either a love or hate through the beginning of book one, and not everyone appreciates that type of content until they realize how eye-opening it can be.
I need help! I'm trying to decide between reading Beastly, Jellicoe Road, and Gone first... Any suggestions?
I haven't read any, but Beastly sounds the best. Gone sounds like a serious version of the old Jimmy Neutron movie. :D
@Zareen: OK, I'll definitely try the series. I actually borrowed the first book, read a chapter, and returned it before...@Taylor: Jellicoe Road was really good, kind of a realistic coming-of-age story. Melina Marchetta writes beautifully. Gone is apocalyptic, and I think the series starts out interesting but gets slightly worse with each new book, but that's just me.
I've actually been re-reading On the Jellicoe Road for the last two days. If you've got snow days off from school, you might as well read something you actually like! :D
I went with Harry Potter. I read the first one and a half books on Tuesday before realizing that there was still a chance of a midterm on Wednesday, so I should study. (There wasn't a midterm. I should have read)

I'm starting that one as soon as I finish Gone, which I just started today.
I just finished Gathering Blue and Peter and the Secret of Rundoon. Now I'm reading Graceling, River Secrets, and Messenger.
Okay, I just finished JELLICOE, and once again...I feel like a little part of me has just fizzled out, since the story's over. Anybody ever just feel - I don't know - glum when a story ends? Will start Vampire Crush tonight
I know how you feel Amelia. Not with Jellicoe, since I have yet to read it, but with other books, totally.
Harry Potter fans dont have a name, like Gleeks or Twi-hards :O
Oh well, there are too many of us for a nickname.
But seriously, why has nobody thought of a one?
We could try Potheads, but that may be misleading... XD

Okay, thank you. Glee is my life. Or is it just reading? I don't know. Harry Potter is #3 on my list, even though I've just read 2 of them (; That is a cool cover!
Glad to hear it Natalie! Aren't you glad your friends made you read it then? They just keep getting better, too.Whatever you call them, Potheads or anything else, I am one too. What are the first two on your list?
I've never heard the term "Potheads" used for Harry Potter fans; just people who smoke marijuana on a regular basis, lol. (Must be a regional thing.) Where I'm at now, we're called by whatever house with which we associate or by Team Voldemort or Team Harry.
I wish I could say that I'm a fan of Glee, but nope. :|

@Kate: Yes, I am. Gleek, then Twi-hard. Pothead is third on my list because I'm not done with the seires so I have to put Twilight ahead of it.
Omg Twilight ugh. I live in WA and everyone asks me about Forks and vampires. :/
And it's also a real small-town city in Washington state, which is why people ask me about it all the time.
Natalie wrote: "Forks WA. That is the city Bella lives in. Duh!:D"
Well sorry. I've never read Twilight. I just hate vampires and wierd love triangles that make no sense.
I read them so that I could informedly make fun of them. And because since I live in the area... I thought I should know what people would be referencing when they talked to me.
I was so disappointed with the novella about Bree. There was nothing in it that actually screamed it taking place in Seattle. From the descriptions, it could have taken place anywhere. There were also a few other errors, but it's a Stephanie Meyer work so I didn't expect anything from it.

That's the problem, is that, at least where I am, there is no name except Harry Potter fans/obsessees.

Except, of course, for Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.
I devoured hundreds of pages a night.
I even read it whilst walking home from school. I didnt even look up once (Except to cross the road. But still...)
Kate, you're finished with I AM #4 already?
wow, that was fast! It took me two days to read that. Its so addicting!
I'll see if I can get some discussions up now :)
