natalie | 5047 comments Thank you! I'm reading Pride and Prejudice. It's a little slow.Yeah, it's really slow!

message 855: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Oh, I thought so too, but it's so wonderful once you actually get into it!

message 856: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I agree with Taylor. It took a while to get into it, but it got way better.

message 857: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments I've actually continued reading A Great and Terrible Beauty! It's amazing, really. I'm usually like those "book a day" kinds of people, but lately, I've been reading very, very slow. I finished Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins, and Firelight by Sophie Jordan. I'm about to start Outcast by Michelle Paver and Infinity.

message 858: by Ishita (new)

oh i love that one! how do u like it?

message 870: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments I've been wanting to read that series for a long, long time. Is it good?

I'm reading Legend (Drenai Tales, #1). This is a relatively old book, published in 1984, but still surprisingly enjoyable. I expected something drab and boring, but this is very enlightening. I just finished Outcast by Michelle Paver and A Great and Terrible Beauty. Both were excellent books. Some books that I am waiting to read on my shelf: Ghost Hunter, Eragon,John Adams, Infinity, The Book Thief, and Old Yeller. Lots of books!!

message 871: by Chloe (new)

Chloe R.B. | 2288 comments I just finished The Magician's Nephew today, and it was awesome, like in an old-fashioned way.

message 872: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments I loved that book! I thought the setting and the plot was almost dreamy, you know what I mean? Although that might be influenced by the cover...anyways, it was an excellent old fashioned book!

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I <3 The Magician's Nephew! I just read it like two days ago.

I know exactly what you mean!!
I loved the Wood between Worlds, that made me really calm and such.
And the making of Narnia?
Freaking breathtaking.
I know, that sounded girls and weird but that's how it felt.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I liked the apple tree part. When it rised silently that at first no one knew it was growing and how it had silver apples. So cool!

message 876: by AnQi (last edited Dec 21, 2010 07:17PM) (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments Yes, I loved the Wood between Worlds! :) I also loved the mythology in this one-the rings and everything about the magic in this world was absolutely fantastic!

message 877: by Chloe (new)

Chloe R.B. | 2288 comments I know! The silver apples were epic.
The rings were really cool, a good way to transport I think. It's creative.
I can't wait to get to the second book!

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments You should just get this copy. The Chronicles of Narnia (#1-7) by C.S. Lewis It has all 7 books in it.

message 879: by Chloe (new)

Chloe R.B. | 2288 comments Oh! That's cool, I'll look into that. Thanks Allie!

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments Welcome!

I loved Specials :)
It wasnt as good as Uglies, though it was better then Pretties. I keep changing between 3 and 4 stars.Right now its on 4, but it'll probably change back soonish...

I am now reading Tales of the Unexpected by Roald Dahl

I love Inkheart!
Have you read Inkspell or Inkdeath yet, Jess?

message 883: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments I've read all three books in the Inkheart Trilogy-they are very original and fit snugly into the fantasy genre, and they also have more style and a poetic feel than most fantasy books today. Have you read any of Cornelia Funke's other books?

message 884: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
Definitely. She is one of my favorite authors. I love The Thief Lord, but think Dragon Rider is by far her weakest book, though it is still enjoyable.
Im hoping to read Reckless really soon...maybe getting it for Christmas :)

Have you read Reckless, her newest one-and if so, what did you think?

message 885: by AnQi (last edited Dec 22, 2010 07:30AM) (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) | 57 comments No, actually, I haven't. I've been planning to for a long time but I've never gotten to it. I love The Thief Lord and Dragon Rider. It's interesting how she writes in German, and then has someone else translate them for her back into English. I guess she feels most comfortable writing in her home language.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments I'm still reading Prince Caspian.

♫♫☺Allie☺♫♫ (alliwicious) | 1115 comments The first 3 pages are great so far.

Funny. Dragon Rider is probably my favorite, with The Thief Lord as a close rival. Reckless was good...not her best, but not bad. I felt like she was kind of having trouble leaving the Inkworld behind.

ugh im find Pride and Prejudice hard to get through. right now im on page 112.
I started another book thought call Paintbox Summer i think.

message 891: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Pride and Prejudice can be really hard to get through, but it is totally worth the time!

message 892: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments By the time I got into it, it was good, but it took a while to get into.

message 893: by [deleted user] (new)

ooooh Paintbox Summer! I gave you that book! It's so sweet :P hahaha

I agree, Pride and Prejudice is pretty hard to get into lol :P

message 894: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments I totally agree, but it's still my #2 favorite book of all-time. And I'm actually kind of glad it was an assigned book, otherwise I probably would've never finished it.

What's number one?

message 897: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I just started The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. It's for English, but we got to choose (and my sister recommended it), so I have high hopes.

The Count of Monte Cristo. It's a 1500-ish paged beast, but it's AMAZING.

message 899: by Chloe (new)

Chloe R.B. | 2288 comments The second Chronicles of Narnia book finally came in!
So now I am going to drop what I am currently reading and start The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

message 900: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (proudxnerd9966) | 132 comments Right now I am re-reading The Clique by Lisi Harrison. I'm taking the 50 Book Challenge so I'm going to be re-reading lots of my favorite books. I just finished re-reading Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard yesterday. The Clique and Pretty Little Liars are my top two favorite series.
