Ooh Tarra, Merry Gentry is such an excellent series, enjoy!

message 157: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 104 comments Sounds like my trips into the city! Micheals to see what beads are on sale and than to browse Chapters and see if I actually make it out of the store without buying anything. ;) It rarely happens. Last week got: Tall, dark and deadly by Lorie O'Clare, Cat's Claw by Amber Benson and Pride by Rachel Vincent. Next week is the killer...at least 6 new releases by favourite authors. Then comes June and more.

message 158: by Angelika (new)

Bianca. Well done, last time I went into a bookshop to "browse" I bought 8 books! You only bought 2, it hardly counts :)

I'm going to the shop with the express intention of buying two particular books - wonder how many I will actually end up just having to have!?!?!

message 162: by Toni (last edited May 26, 2010 01:15PM) (new)

Toni I went to Barnes and Noble on my lunch break today and got these....

Looks like a well spent lunchtime to me! Where I work is not in a big town so there is no book shop near me - no fair! But then if there were I'd be buying books all the time and my bookshelf is already full!

message 164: by Toni (new)

Toni Oh how I love my lunch break at Barnes and Noble. :)

message 165: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 104 comments What can I say...I was bad yesterday. Got Magic Bleeds (Ilona Andrews), Daemon's Mark (Caitlin Kittredge), Pride (Rachel Vincent), Bad Blood (L.A. Banks), Web of Lies (Jennifer
estep), The Darkest Passion (Gena Showalter), and Moon Sworn (Keri Arthur). I missed two books I went in for but found two I wasn't. There's always next week.....and maybe sometime I might catch up. ;)

message 166: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 276 comments Web of Lies! I knew there was a book I forgot to buy today, damn. Anyway, I was tempted by the spoilers for Infinity but didn't like the price so I bought 2 more to get the 3 for 2 offer - bad girl!

Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon [image error] The Poison Throne (The Moorehawke Trilogy, #1) by Celine Kiernan

I should get my copy of Magic Bleeds tomorrow or Saturday at the latest, I can't wait!

Ames, it would be wrong not to take advantage of a 3 for 2 offer! I'm shopping on Saturday so I might do so myself (read will buy at least 6 books again!!)

Do you go to the Dark Fantasy section in Waterstones by any chance?

Yes! But they always have 3 for 2 on certain YA and adult books so I've been going in on a frighteningly regular basis as the prices are the same as ordering online with this offer. Have you noticed online prices have been really low lately, not that I'm complaining?!

I've promised myself I will open an eBay account and start selling off my low-rated reads. I'm in desperate need of shelf space.

I love that prices are lower at the moment, but it does not help me to cut down on buying books to add to my large physical TBR - but if I'm going to get them might as well when they're on offer right?

Regina (reginar) I am really proud of myself. For the last 4 weeks I have been doing mainly library books instead of buying, but it helps that I have access to two great library systems.

I have these from the library right now:

Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega, #2) by Patricia Briggs Unbound by Kim Harrison (I am reading this for the Bones story) Mountains Beyond Mountains The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World by Tracy Kidder What Is the What by Dave Eggers Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri Arthur Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins

I also just bought (and read) If Looks Could Chill (Passion For Danger, #2) by Nina Bruhns Show No Mercy / Take No Prisoners (Black Ops, #1 and #2) by Cindy Gerard Take No Prisoners (Black Ops, #2) by Cindy Gerard and because I loved it so much in written form, I bought the audio version of Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward

Alisha (schalazeal) | 28 comments There was this awesome (and huge) open air market this weekend, and I found some sweet deals on used (and some new) books...

Vamps and the City (aber auf Deutsch)
Three Bags Full
The Book of General Ignorance
Jaz Parks books 1-3:
-Once Bitten, Twice Shy
-Another One Bites the Dust
-Biting the Bullet

...and some language reference books. But those (except Jaz) go to the bottom of the TBR pile. June will start "kick-butt female UF heroines" month, grand marshaled by Ms. Anita Blake! :o)

I hated, hated, hated Bullet! For many reasons. Be prepared for all kinds of sex (i.e. m/m, m/m/f, f/f, BDSM etc.).

Ok, I have to share my good fortune. I bought [book:Animal Life: The Definite Visual Guide to Animals and Their Behaviour|4003847] for a fifth of it's original price! I know it's non-fiction but it was £30, and I got it for £6 at WH Smiths. I've wanted it for ages, I'm so happy.
