That's a long book. It would have taken me months to finish it.

Reading Warprize (Chronicles of the Warlands, #1) by Elizabeth Vaughan , which I'm enjoying already!! Started Angel's Rest An Eternity Springs Novel (Eternity Springs, #1) by Emily March on audio this morning.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Lol Megan - I just received a huge box (93) of books that I ordered two weeks ago, and the Warlands trilogy is in it! I'm glad you're liking it, that means I can safely dig in as soon as I finish Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally which I just started!

It reminds me a lot of the Tairen Soul series by CL Wilson....if you haven't read THOSE books, get on it!!!

You are brave reading Schindler's List...I'd be crying the whole way through, I think.

I find Elizabeth Vaughn to be one of those really good authors no one is reading. I am glad you are enjoying it.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Megan, are you kidding? of course I've read the Tairen Soul series! I thought I'd die in the six months I had to wait for the last book to come out! Thank goodness I read the first in May (didn't have to wait for the others to come out!).. It's one of my very favorite series! I definitely need to read Warprize if it's similar!

I'm not at the crying part yet, lol!

Jennifer, I haven't gotten very far yet on City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare , but are you mad because the book ends in a cliffhanger, or because it was just not good? I'm really hoping it's good!!!

message 3060: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Yes Jennifer, please let us know, lol!! If it's a cliffhanger, I'm waiting to read it till the next book comes out!!! I hate waiting!

message 3061: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Cliffhanger. It sucked. I'm still ticked off.

I'm reading True Confessions by Rachel Gibson

message 3066: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle | 161 comments Jennifer wrote: "Cliffhanger. It sucked. I'm still ticked off."

I kind of figured that:( I was lucky with the first three because I read them when they had all came out, so they had cliffhangers, but I could just read the next one! But I think about those endings and I know how frustrating the next year will be. I'm already desperately waiting for Clockwork Prince (Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare because of how the first one ended! Did you like the book other than the end though?

message 3067: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) It was well written and a great addition, but it was a little stressful from time to time and the ending was just not what I expected or wanted.

message 3068: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) I finished up an ARC I got today in the mail from Hyperion. Original Sin: A Sally Sin Adventure It was really good. It needs a little cleaning up and smoothing of the transitions, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

I'm about a hundred pages in, and I can already see what you mean! Very hard to read a lot of the stuff with Jace and Clary:( Just wish the other two books were out alread! I'm def going to have to read something light and sweet when this isdone. And even worse she has said that COLS is even darker!

Read Tall, Dark & Dead (Garnet Lacey, #1) by Tate Hallaway this morning.....another one where the cover is strangely misleading. I really enjoyed this book!

It looks like a chick lit book, but maybe the book's cover is misleading that as well.

I saw that it was supposed to be darker, too. I think this is the first time I'm not looking forward to one of her books. :( I think I may wait til the series is totally done before reading anymore. I really hate waiting. I need a HEA. lol

message 3081: by Erinaceina (new)

Erinaceina | 10 comments I was reading Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione , but I've put it down in favour of At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost . I am enjoying Eternal Rider but I've had a dreadful week so far (I almost killed my computer by splashing beer on it, and now have to pay for the memory to be replaced), and the only thing I can concentrate on is Cat and Bones. I'm also reading Demon Blood (The Guardians, #6) by Meljean Brook on my kindle when I can't spare both hands to hold a book open - like eating supper. ;)

I love Kresley Coles Immortals After Dark series, and have wanted to give her other books a try! I have been eyeballing The Captain of All Pleasures (Sutherland Brothers, #1) by Kresley Cole for awhile... maybe it's time to give it a try:)

message 3085: by Melanie (last edited Apr 13, 2011 02:22AM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Shelbelle - definitely! You have a sexy and very flawed hero, a half-innocent spitfire heroine who obsesses him, a good dose of angst, and an around the world sea voyage! If you like HR and Kresley Cole, I think you'd love this!

I read The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld, #7) by Gena Showalter in the early hours... Great book! Originally, I wasn't a fan of Amun (liked him, but found him a little uninteresting, honestly), but wow! Such a great hero, and such a great couple! I loved that they fell for each other simultaneously! 5*

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm reading Carnal Gift (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #2) by Pamela Clare and Truth and Consequences (Hearts of the South, #1) by Linda Winfree , though CG is keeping me really interested so TaC isn't yet getting my full attention.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Megan, I got confused with names early on, so I need to be able to give it more attention than I have. It's still on my bed, so it'll be next after I finish CG.

Is there sex in HotS books? My daughter is asking about them.

They definitely have sex in them....some of them more than others, but it's in them all. Lots of language, too.

Someone had told me they were Christian Fiction, but from the first few chapters I didn't get that feeling. LOL

Thanks for the heads up on The Captain of All Pleasures (Sutherland Brothers, #1) by Kresley Cole ! And I'm so glad to keep hearing what a great hero Amun turns out to be. I keep putting off The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld, #7) by Gena Showalter because I have never really been into Amun...I don't dislike him, he's just sorta...blahhh to me. But everyone keeps saying how great he is! So it has me a little excited:)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Shelbelle - Yeah, Amun seems kind of blah before this, probably because he doesn't have many conversations, lol.. But he definitely heats up the pages of his book!
