I actually skipped Kill for Me, Melanie.....I could not stand Susannah and wasn't interested in her story. It's the only KR I haven't read.

Honestly, you didn't miss much.. I think I rated it 3*, and I was nice:-D I read them out of order, lol.. The only ones I haven't read are Don't Tell, Nothing To Fear and Silent Scream although I have them:-D

Three of my favorites!! I have a special love for Silent Scream because it's David Hunter's story!! Definitely read Don't Tell and Nothing to Fear before that one, though, as you get a lot out of David's backstory in those.

Thanks for the info:-) I definitely need to get to them! So the first is good? I've been putting it off..

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) I'm starting with Karen Rose. I'm excited. Can't wait to get started tonight!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Jennifer - You're in for a treat:-D Which book?

Megan - Just finished Don't Tell (book #1) by Karen Rose - I was reluctant to read it, but it was great! 4* I'm just disappointed that I already knew all that had happend from the other books:-)

Yep, I enjoyed that one though it was a little different because neither of them were in law enforcement. Dana's book is great!

Die For Me (book #7) (Daniel Vartanian, #1) by Karen Rose =D

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Jennifer, that's book 7, but book 1 of a spinoff? If so, can it be read alone?

message 2911: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
It can definitely be read alone....the books have connecting characters, but not really any overlapping story lines. The numbering is mainly just for time line's sake as some of the previous characters and their pasts are mentioned in all the books.

Having said that, I read them in order starting with Don't Tell because I couldn't live with myself otherwise lol! If an author numbers books, I'm compelled by my neuroses to read them in that order.

message 2912: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle | 161 comments Just finished Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare FANTASTIC!!!! I will admit I still love the Mortal Instruments series better though.

Now I'm reading the second wallflower book It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas

I really am in the mood for Contemp. Romance but not sure what to read...

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Megan wrote: "Having said that, I read them in order starting with Don't Tell because I couldn't live with myself otherwise lol! If an author numbers books, I'm compelled by my neuroses to read them in that order"

You're my long lost twin, separated when our mother gave birth in the library.

message 2914: by Lynette (new)

Lynette Smith | 21 comments Jennifer I know what you are going through, I have to keep myself in check not to give into my Barrons addiction. It has been more than 2 months since Barrons!! I have not yet found anything to replace him yet but try one of Cristine Freehan's books or Nora Roberts. None of these will have the same effect but what can we do.

I'm working on Toni Blake's Destiny series, which I highly recommend!! Finished One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake and Sugar Creek (Destiny, #2) by Toni Blake , about to start Whisper Falls (Destiny, #3) by Toni Blake !

Have you tried Susan Wiggs? I really like her Lakeshore Chronicles. She also has some good stand alones.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished Second Chance Pass (Virgin River, #5) by Robyn Carr ... Not as good as the other VR books, IMO:-) 3*

message 2921: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments I Finished Blood Destiny (Blood Curse, #1) by Tessa Dawn . I was very dissappointed in this book. I actually found myself skimming through it just so that I can get to the point of the story. It never got to the point other than the blood curse. It's suppose to be a series. I'm now on Shadowlight (Kyndred, #1) by Lynn Viehl . So far it's shaping up to be a really good book. I'm also reading Out of the Darkness (Offspring, #2) by Jaime_Rush , which is really good.

message 2922: by Bianca (new)

Bianca | 84 comments Finished my re-read of Hard Evidence (I-Team, #2) by Pamela Clare now onto Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare

Though I don't know how anyone can compete with Julian's hotness..talk about a tough act to follow

It turned out to be my favorite, too, UM!! This is saying something because I rated all three books with 5 stars. Lucky Romo is my new fictional boyfriend...I would totally ride a motorcycle with him.

That book had me sobbing. So did One Reckless Summer too, though. I adored them all!

Shellbelle | 161 comments I have seen you guys mention Toni Blake a lot on the boards, I was wondering, is she chick lit? or Contemp romance? I have never heard of her before this so I was curious. I'm always looking for new authors and you guys seem to really enjoy her! And I trust you, because this group introduced me to Lisa Kleypas:) YAY!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish She's more Contemporary Romance with some heated sex scenes. Not quite erotica. She also writes as Lacy Alexander, and those books are more erotic.

message 2929: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Gah, her love scenes are just perfect...I can't say enough about this series.

message 2930: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle | 161 comments Oh Goodie! I've been looking for more Contemporary Romance authors. For some reason that seems the hardest genre for me to find books I enjoy, but It's one of my fav. genre's:( So I will def be adding her to my TBR pile!!! And I certainly can't turn down a book with perfectly heated sex scences:)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Me too, Shellbelle. I have a hard time because I don't like the lighter chick-lit stuff. I hope you'll love Toni Blake's Destiny series.

Another good one is Letters to a Secret Lover by Toni Blake I've reviewed them all if you're interested, and labeled spoilers.

message 2932: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle | 161 comments Thanks! I just bought One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake for my Nook and I'm starting it as soon as I'm done with It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas Excited to try a new author:)

I couldn't get into One Reckless Summer. I've only read a few pages. The hero's nickname for the heroine got to me. That wasn't my only problem with the book from what I have read.

I'm reading Bonds of Justice (Psy-Changeling, #8) by Nalini Singh

This is another paranormal challenge read for me.

I remember that you didn't care for it, Arch. That's too bad, I wish you had, but we can't all love the same things.

YAY!!!!!!!!

I found both the H/h's stories to be heartbreaking and fell in love with them both. They really compliment each other, and I loved their sexual tension! So, so hot!

Yes UniquelyMoi, every book isn't for everyone. Maybe another one of Toni's book will catch my attention.

message 2946: by MrsJoseph *grouchy* (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) I finished The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook - meh. I loved the steampunk fantasy part but was very meh on the romance and the characters.

I also finished Noble Satyr by Lucinda Brant and was not too impressed. This book won some crazy $10k award and I was longing for a regular England historcal. Gah. The heroine was waaay to sweet & the hero just seemed to be there. He was supposed to be dangerous (everyone was scared of him) but he couldn't hold a candle to Devil Cynster.
