UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Mollie, I can't remember now, but didn't they mention Manny by name at the end of Lover Mine?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm currently reading Kiss of the Rose The Tudor Vampire Chronicles by Kate Pearce by Kate Pearce. She's written a lot of erotica, but she tells me that this one is not.

I love vampires and Tudor England so I'm hoping this turns out to be a series I can keep reading.

So far I'm about 60 pages in and it's really quite good.

Yes, but he was such a minor character that it didn't stick. As to the Fade, check out the glossary. A shellan may only have one hellren, but a hellren may have more than one shellan. It's not like being a soul-mate.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish That's what a shellan and hellren are to each other, soul mates - happily ever afters. He's going to have someone else's name carved on his back, and I don't like it. And thankfully, I'm not alone. LOL I sent you a link to the JR Ward group. Hope you get a chance to check it out.

To each her own:-) It's true that Jack isn't John Medina or Sam Starett worthy, but since it was a contemp romance, I thought he was hot as a sexy, irritable and "glowering" FBI agent:-) If it had been a romantic suspense, I would have been disappointed in him, but as it was... :-D

I also need to read Kill and Tell:-) Will you tell me what you think of it? :-)

I would never want anyone to love Sam Starrett and John Medina, because I love them. I love Sam more.

If another reader don't like Sam and/or John Medina. That's perfectly fine with me.

When I read a book, I don't compare the hero to Sam Starrett. I know that every hero is different. A hero has to catch my attention, in order for me to like him.

I also need to read Kill and Tell:-) Will you tell me what you think of it? :-)

I'll let you know what I think of it and plus write a review on the book.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished Code Name Blondie (SEAL and Code Name, 8) by Christina Skye ... Cute book, but seems like I should have read the first couple books before.. (naturally I then had to go to ebay to do so..) The first 2/3 were great, then it got a little complicated, and the ending was a tad rushed for my tastes:-) 4 stars

message 1158: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished Up Close and Dangerous by Linda Howard .. Liked it, but there wasn't really any suspense, just a survivalist plot:-) 4 stars..

message 1159: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished Nauti Boy (Nauti, #1) by Lora Leigh , my first LL in a while:-) and the first in the Nauti series.. I liked this one more than the Augusts (they were hot, no doubt about it, but the complicated relationship between the brothers were a little beyond my comfort zone.. I don't mind ménage at all, but I prefer, if there's a main m/f couple, that the HEA doesn't include ménage..): So it looks like the Nauti Boys are going to be favorites of mine:-)

I love the Nauti series! My least favorite was actually the 1st book (the one you just finished), and my favorite was the 2nd. Dawg is pretty overwhelming, but I LOVED him anyways!

As for Kill and Tell (John Medina, #1) by Linda Howard , I really liked this book, but I preferred All the Queen's Men (John Medina, #2) by Linda Howard . Things happened too quickly for me to really believe the romance. However, I still loved it because I absolutely love Linda Howard!

Doesn't seem like it, huh?:-) I've loved all her books so far... One or two less than others, but enjoyed all of them:-)

Amanda - Can't wait to read Dawg's book, but I'm in the Count-off Challenge in RRRC, so it'll have to wait two weeks:-)

message 1164: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments Melanie - you'll have to tell me what you think!

And I am also a HUGE lover of Julie Garwood. I think the only book I haven't loved was The Wedding. And that was because of a frustrating secondary character. Ransom is my total favorite

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Hey, y'all. Just finished Dragongirl (The Dragonriders of Pern) by Todd McCaffrey and liked it a lot, except for the cliffhanger ending. If I knew then what I know now, I'd wait until after the next one is published and read the last three as a unit.

Melanie, yes, I think the Nauti Boys are going to be among your favorites: good guess about the way the Nauti books run, I think you’ll enjoy the next three as much as the first one. I’m trying to postpone the spend on the new one as long as I can.

Tammy, I love the BDB! Enjoy, and let us hear what you think about it.

message 1166: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I can't believe how much I'm actually liking Lover Avenged - I was underwhelmed with Phury's story and Vishous...don't get me started on how much that book ticked me off.

Part of me is still waiting for a big WTF at the end, but I'm sure enjoying the ride!

Manny pops up in Lover Avenged, as well. Just briefly, but he's there.

Do you know anything about Murhder? I felt like I had missed a book with all the references to Xhex's past. Or is that just me?

message 1176: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish (last edited Aug 05, 2010 07:23PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish There hasn't been a whole lot of information about Xhex and Murhder. Have you been to the J.R.Ward Group? There is a TON of information there about all kinds of things, and as more stuff comes out, it gets posted :

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh, Linda, I wanted to add that I enjoyed the Troubleshooters. I read the entire series but it got kind of old after awhile... the SAME couples always featured.... Izzy's and Eden's story will be out soon and if I remember right, it's the last book of the series.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Well, there's still like 12 of them, so fear not... there's plenty to read. LOL

I wish that Suzanne wouldn't end the series with Izzy book. I think that Jaz and Lopez deserve their own book or even make their books a combination book.

I could be wrong, but I think that Izzy's book will be a combination book. Both he and Gilman will get their HEA.

Why would I say that Izzy will get his HEA, because to me, he's HEA is not complete.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm always willing to admit when I'm wrong... maybe Izzy isn't the last book.

You might be right UniquelyMoi. I didn't hear any word of a Lopez or Jaz book being in the works in the near future and then again, I don't follow Suzanne Brockmann.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) Oh Linda, I do so agree with Dhes. It must be the BDB !

Linda I am so glad I found this group and thread.....None of my friends are into the Strong Sexy Dangerous Hero HA HA too much reality for them Lol

I am on the last Tall Dark And Dangerous installment - sheesh what took me so long to find them Night Watch (Tall, Dark & Dangerous #11) (Silhouette Intimate Moments #1243) by Suzanne Brockmann

Will be starting BDB - actually this will be my second time with the first few books - never finished the series. BUT will be sneaking in the Troubleshooters series.....

Can't have too many Sexy Heroes in my life!!!

Happy Friday!!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Finished Son of the Morning by Linda Howard last night... the hero and heroine didn't meed until the last 1/4 of the book, but although I usually prefer them to interact earlier on, I thought it necessary for Grace to grieve before getting together with Niall.. 3.5-4 stars, because it was an interesting take on the Templars, and it was all in all a good book:-)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Welcome Linda, and may I say I envy you the pleasure of reading the BDB and Troubleshooters for the first time.
I just finished Bonds of Justice (Psy-Changeling, #8) by Nalini Singh and really loved it. Next will be Thanksgiving by Janet Evanovich .

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish This morning I finished Kiss of the Rose The Tudor Vampire Chronicles by Kate Pearce which I really enjoyed.

Now I'm reading Twice Tempted by a Rogue (Stud Club, #2) by Tessa Dare and it's off to a good start.

Linda Has anyone ever used audible.com? I hear Prince Joe is now available for purchase and download and I have never done that?

Wondering how it would sound listening to Joe Cat instead of reading about him?

He is still my number 1 hero (until I find another:):) Can't wait to read about Sam (according to Arch Ha ha)

Reading your reply. The Free Willy Song - Will You Be There by Michael Jackson just came to my mind.

I am watching listening to the song on Youtube.

I like the Free Willy Movie. Part one.
