Courtney (mrs_hf) | 164 comments Started and loooving The Prize!!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish YAY!!!! I have it listed as an all time favorite book along with Royce as an all time favorite hero.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) I've just finished Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, #5) by Lisa Kleypas wich I loved. Got Dance With The Devil (Dark-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon from the library which I am currently reading. Did read a lot of the Dark Hunter series a few years ago and decided to revisit them.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I just finished Under Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #2) by Jo Davis and wasn't as impressed with it as I was the first book in the series. Not sure what I'm going to read now.

Do you have a To-Be-Read pile from which we can help you choose?

Lol, I think we all have monstrous TBR piles:-)

I read Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater last night after being busy all of Sat and yesterday afternoon (I didn't read anything on Saturday!!! (that rarely happens, lol)..

Love both of them, and am now waiting for the next books in both series:-) Trying to decide what to read now... Probably Fairest by Gail Carson Levine (for my July Monthly Challenge), and then I'll have to choose a HR:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Mollie, thank you for the offer! I have a own-need-to-read shelf, if that helps!

I grabbed Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley last night, so I'll be starting that today.

message 910: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I am reading Killer Curves by Roxanne St. Claire , it revolves around NASCAR so if you are a fan check it out and is pretty good so far, I am about 100 pages in.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I've not read anything Nascar. I've seen lots of them in Harlequin's Nascar line, but never read anything. I bet it's edgy.

message 912: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments It has a little twist to it that I have seen in RS before, but it is interesting with NASCAR. I am not a fan of it, but learning more and seeing the behind the scenes is interesting.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments I read Fairest by Gail Carson Levine Letters to Erik The Ghost's Love Story by An Wallace Ready (Mercenary/Goddard Project, #3) (Mercenary Trilogy, #1) by Lucy Monroe Gentle Warrior (Tapestry Romance) by Julie Garwood today: 3.5 and 4 stars for the first two, and 5 stars for the last two:-) I adore Julie Garwood (Elizabeth and Geoffrey made a wonderful couple!), and this was my first Lucy Monroe book:-) Joshua was seriously sexy, the plot interesting (although the ending was a tad rushed for my tastes..) and I can't wait to read Willing:-)

message 915: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I am reading Running Wild (Wild, #1, #2, & #3) by Sarah McCarty , not sure where I heard about this book, but I am loving it so far.

:::now I'm jealous:::

Just read Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward and Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward by J.R. Ward and am loving the series, I have one more in the pile before I have to hit a bookstore and pay full retail (horrors) for the rest.

NEW Nora Roberts tomorrow, I can almost smell it.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm now reading Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley and just loving it!

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Just finished Never Too Hot (Hot Shots Men of Fire #3) by Bella Andre by Bella Andre

Back to the library with it, see which of my other reserves have come in.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish How was it Mollie?

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Lady UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "How was it Mollie?"

Pretty good, though not top quality. A fun read but nothing I'd read again and again. The plot was a bit too predictable, but the subplot was better.

Didn't find anything at the library this afternoon except a cookbook, so I gave in and stopped at Borders for the new releases. I bought

The Search by Nora Roberts More Than Words, Volume 6 (Includes Virgin River, #12) by Joan Johnston Sexy Beast VIII by Kate Douglas Chains of Ice (The Chosen Ones, #3) by Christina Dodd McKettricks of Texas Austin (McKettricks, #13) by Linda Lael Miller

but didn't feel bad about it because I spent less than my husband spends on cigarettes in a week. Now I'm going to shut off this computer and dive in.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I've started buying used book more than new, that way I can buy twice as many :)

message 922: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments Just finished "Silent Truth" by Sherrilyn Kenyon & Diana Love. The hero, mega-rich socialite Hunter Thornton-Payne III, works for B.A.D. in black ops and is kind of a reverse bad boy; he lets everyone think worse of him than he is! But he's actually a hard-core agent & patriot - until he meets our heroine, Abbie. Great book, but it certainly did not feel like a Sherrilyn Kenyon book (no great lines). I'm wondering if this one was written mostly by Diana because of the differences between the early B.A.D. novels and this one.

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 164 comments Sweet Jesus someone tell me how Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley is!!!! I can't get it until Friday and I'm DIEING for info!!!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Courtney, it's amaaaaaaaazing! So, so good. Sooooo heartbreaking. And we see lot's of the other brothers, but really lots of Ian and Beth. And I'm only on page 120. I can't stop reading!!!!!!

I read Mackenzie's Mountain (Mackenzie Family, #1) by Linda Howard yesterday, Mackenzie's Mission (Mackenzie Family, #2) by Linda Howard and Present Danger by Susan Andersen this afternoon: 5 stars, 4.5, and 4.5 stars respectively:-) I love Wolf Mackenzie, and I enjoy SA's RS novels!

Very funny, so far. I feel bad for Clarissa! I intend to read The Perfect Bride as well. I love Mackenzie's Mountain. One of my all-time faves.

message 931: by Christine (new)

Christine (crmcgowan) | 4 comments Currently reading Kissing Sin #2 in the Riley Jenson Guardian Series. I'm really enjoying this series so far. I'm almost finnished with it and will start the next one Tempting Evil. Can't wait!

message 932: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Lol, Clarissa was hilarious:-) I think one of Katie Macallister's heroines reminds me of her, but I can't remember the name of the book.. Noble something? :-)

Just finished my first Diana Palmer book, Heartless (Mills and Boon Single Titles) by Diana Palmer , and I adored it! I could have kicked Jason though when he turns up with Kittie, but it sure made for a lot of angst:-) I'm expecting Fearless in the next couple days, and have just put most of DP's other books in my BD basket:-)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments I stopped reading Palmer because many of her heroes were so tortured that I didn't find their cures believable. I liked her Long Tall Texans when I did read them, how many has she written now, 30? That little town is getting way too overpopulated.

In the past 24 hours I read my new ones from Nora Roberts, Linda Lael Miller, and Kate Douglas.
The Search by Nora Roberts McKettricks of Texas Austin (McKettricks, #13) by Linda Lael Miller Sexy Beast VIII by Kate Douglas
I bought them all at Borders, and as a Borders Rewards member who bought something in the previous week I'd a $5 off discount, as well as 40% off the cover price on Nora's book. Not too shabby!

I've considered the Barnes and Noble membership, but the last time I was in there they did not carry what I was looking for. So why pay $25 for a membership it will take me until March to have paying for itself when they don't carry everything I am looking for?

Mom read the 12th Virgin River story in More Than Words, Volume 6 (Includes Virgin River, #12) by Joan Johnston and pronounced it amateurish. She taught honors English for 31 years, she ought to know. However, our tastes in "literature" diverge, so I'm gonna read it anyhow. So there.

Lol.. I don't think many women would mind living there:-) I just finished Calhoun (Long, Tall Texans, #1; Silhouette Romance, #580) by Diana Palmer and am starting Lawless by Diana Palmer :-)

I never get sick of Diana Palmer. She's always going to be a favorite of mine.

message 936: by Melanie (last edited Jul 08, 2010 09:26AM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments I just "discovered" her yesterday:-) She writes the hottest heroes who do the stupidest things! I love her:-D I think she's also getting to be a favorite of mine:-)

Read Lawless by Diana Palmer Heart Of A Stranger Soldier Of Fortune / The Tender Stranger by Diana Palmer today, and am going through Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate .. I'm having a hard time with the last, but loved the first two:-) I think I'm going to go through a couple more DPs in the next couple days:-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish The only Palmer book I own is Lawless by Diana Palmer . I think it was Danielle who reco'd it to me.

message 938: by Melanie (last edited Jul 08, 2010 09:46AM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Did you like it? I started with Heartless (Mills and Boon Single Titles) by Diana Palmer and loved it! I'm also starting the LTT series and the Soldiers of Fortune:-) So far, no complaints:-) I just don't really know in what order to read them if they're not in a series..

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I haven't read it yet. I really need to do it.

message 940: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments You definitely need to read it:-)

I just finished Lionhearted (Long, Tall Texans) (Silhouette Romance #1631) by Diana Palmer .. Not as good as Heartless or Lawless, but great all the same:-)

message 941: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Just finished The Case Of The Mesmerizing Boss (And the Winner is) by Diana Palmer .. Loved it!!! Dane was such a perfectly tortured hero and acted like such an idiot! I wanted to smack him at times! I almost cried when Tess was in the hospital in the end... Lol, I'm a little emotional these days:-)

message 942: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I just finished Lady Vixen by Shirlee Busbee and right now am reading Dark Places by Gillian Flynn and Shameless by Suzanne Forster

Have any of you read any of Suzanne Forster's books? Her heroes are definitely dark, tormented and seriously sexy.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Yes, I like Forster, though she's not one of my favorites.

Today I finished More Than Words, Volume 6 (Includes Virgin River, #12) by Joan Johnston and also re-read Storm of Visions (The Chosen Ones, #1) by Christina Dodd and Storm of Shadows (The Chosen Ones, #2) by Christina Dodd in preparation for attacking the new one.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm reading Hidden Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #3) by Jo Davis and it's so, so good! What a relief after the last book in the series.

Diana Palmer can really wrench your heart...probably one of the reasons I love her books.

Thats exactly it:-) I get cold chills when her heroes mess up, and my whole body feels wrenched till the hero and heroine make up! :-)

Just finished Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse, #10) by Charlaine Harris , and honestly, I was pretty disappointed.. It felt like it was going everywhere, the characters weren't that well developped,... 3.5 stars for me this time (a first for Charlaine Harris!):-(
