What Are You Reading?

I already feel the twitches coming on :P

He's very imaginative :)

I think if you like Dragos and a good plot, you'll enjoy
Angels' Blood.
We are having a Getting to Know Session with Latrivia S. Nelson right now. Please drop in to say hi if you get a chance:

You might also enjoy Dragon Actually. It's book 1 in the Dragon Kin Series.

My friend came to visit Saturday. Turns out she and some women at work read the 50 Shades trilogy. Let me tell you, my friend is very demure. Like more than me. She was like, wow! She begged my sister and I to read it so we could talk about it. She even left us her Kindle to read it since I told her I wasn't going to spend money on the book. The good news is she is a big Twilight fan now. Score!!!

I like 50 shades; for me it was a love story and that point seems to be forgotten or dismissed by some critics. I feel the readers who protest about its topic may protest too much about themselves;)! Sure ELjames needed a thesaurus and a better editor, but it's still a great love story. If you like it though; Bared to YOu is even better and for me Eva is more realistic than Ana. Choosing between Christian and Gideon would be very hard, very!

I've been really shocked at the people that I know that have read Fifty. It makes me feel less like hiding my smutty reading tendencies. :) Do you plan on reading it, Lady D?
@ Hilary - I liked them too! I can usually see past editing mistakes, unless they make it hard to follow the story. Anyone who can pen a decent novel gets kudos from me! The lady did well for herself.

I agree! I loved 50 Shades!

Oooh, I've never heard of the Ice series, looks good! Thanks for adding to my to-read pile, Duchess!

Any time! We all live to enable. *evil laugh*
Hope you like!
Hi Duchess! I am going to read the first book because my friend asked me to. I'm not committing to reading the rest because I have heard the content gets more erotic than I care for.
I don't judge folks for what they read, so I hope I don't sound that way. I'm not much on erotica, so that's why I haven't been eager to read it. A few other reasons. Not because I think it's bad literature. That's not me at all! I love genre fiction. I hate book snobbery!

I'm curious about Gabriel's Inferno.

That does sound good. Let us know what you think, Kate.

Loved Inferno, but never made it to the sequel. I've heard a lot of people say Rapture is even better. Guess I should bump it up on the list! :-)

Is it supposed to improve, by a lot, in the next series b/c otherwise I wasn't planning on continuing it?

I agree with Lady D! They all have a similar feel.

I did not like Gabriel's Inferno, and that's stating it mildly. I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room while reading that book. Different strokes and all that but man, that book made me mad!

I wasn't a fan of it either. I thought the dialogue was SO cheesy. It would almost work better as a historical romance with all the "my darling"s...just didn't buy into it as a contemporary book. I didn't find Gabriel sexy either...socially awkward, more like it.

I like to mix it up too, Rachel. I've found that my reading tastes have become more eclectic as I have gotten older.
Right now I am feeling a book slump. I hope it passes. Not a good feeling at all.

Reading
--it has two MCs who are scoundrels (con men), set in post-apocalyptic Russia. Interesting book.

I'm sorry, Lady D. It sucks when that happens. This might sound weird but sometimes it helps me to take a break mentally by watching movies or documentaries. It kind of reboots my system and sometimes will cause me to crave a certain genre. Maybe that might help? :)
I think you are right, Rachel! We've been watching Doctor Who and it's helped a lot. I rekindled my love for the show and discovered my crush on Matt Smith, the new doctor. I was able to focus on a book more after taking that break.

I had the same reaction...tried to read others in the series and felt the same way. I'd say don't continue.

That's great, Lady D! Glad it worked. :D
