KSMary I was going to start The Host but the library let me know that The Last Song is available, so I picked that up after work today.

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) Right now I have two going - first Beside a Burning Sea by John Shors and then I got the notice that The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins was in at the library, so I picked it up and opened it tonight. Loving both of them so far.

I have hunger games on my shelf. I should really get to it. I'm glad that you are liking it.

message 359: by Ilana (new)

Ilana (ilanamasad) I'm reading my first Virgina Wolff! "Mrs. Dalloway" is amazing so far.

To be honest, I've wanted to read her for a while, but the thing that pushed me to do it was my newfound love for Michael Cunningham who wrote "The Hours" among others - and I don't want to read that before I've read "Mrs. Dalloway."

I finished this book today and I thought it was pretty good. I liked it about the same as the first book so if you liked the first book ok I would recommend reading the second book. It's a good quick read anyway.

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) Yas wrote: "The Pillars of the Earth

How long did it take to get brilliant? I put it down after a few chapters...I chalked it up to me not being in the mood for a historical read. So, tell me how long I have to slog until the bloody brilliant part, please.

message 367: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) I've put aside Beside a Burning Sea - which is REALLY good - for the Hunger Games and Catching Fire this weekend. I only have a little bit left of Catching Fire, and I've been sneaking in a page or two when ever I thought I could. What an addicting ride!

message 368: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Manus (kdemanus) | 3 comments I'm reading "Horns". It's a novel that I won on a Goodreads giveaway. I wouldn't have bought it on my own, but after starting it, I'm happy to have it. Although I'm not very far into it, I'm really enjoying it.

message 369: by Angela (new)

Angela B I ran into horns flipping around online I think I added it to my TBR it sounded very interesting :)

I'm on page 151 and I plan to finish it, but so far I'm not too enraptured by it. We will see, sometimes a reader feels different by the end of a book.

message 378: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** I am reading A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks and will starting The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks in a day or two once I pick the book up from my friends moms house but I will have it this weekend!!!!

i started this last night. this is a book in won in a giveaway! exciting!

message 381: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments Elizabeth - You will have to tell me if it is any good. I have 10 siblings (11 kids in the fam) and it is insanity. My mom thought something was wrong with us because we fought so much and even as adult we still do :D

message 382: by [deleted user] (new)

I have one younger bro by four years and I still rule.

message 383: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Just started reading spirit bound.

message 384: by Angela (new)

Angela B Well I finished My Sister's Keeper and it was a great story but very sad, the ending really threw me for a loop I practically went back and read it again to make sure I wasn't confused...but then I would have cried more.

As for what I am reading now I don't know what I should start next...

message 385: by KSMary (new)

KSMary I finished The Total Money Makeover A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey and The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks this week. I'm so glad that I read them both!

message 386: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I am reading Hissy Fit A Novel by Mary Kay Andrews and am loving it so far!

message 387: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) I finished Beside a Burning Sea, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Gave 5 stars to each Hunger Games and Catching Fire, and 4 stars to Beside a Burning Sea.

I'm now about 1/3 through Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West which is different from what I was expecting, but interesting. I've got the sequel on my bedside too - Son of a Witch, but at this point am not sure I'm that excited to move to it after Wicked is done. We'll see. I have a stack ready to go back to the library today, so it'll be fun to see which books I come home with!

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments I just finished Those who Save us and I just started today Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger and I think I'm like 200 pages in and might I say it is deliciously irresistible. I can't wait til my girlies go to bed so i can finish it up.

message 390: by [deleted user] (new)

I know right. I could not put this book down. It was such different book and the plot just kept you rolling. It is hard to put the book down when you know something good is right on the next page.

message 391: by Karli (new)

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) Sounds like another one for the TBR!

message 392: by Angela (new)

Angela B I totally had to add Souless to my TBR after reading your praise for it!

As for what I'm reading now I decided on Pretties (Uglies, #2) by Scott Westerfeld
I'm just under 100 pages in and it's not bad but so far I actually liked the first book more. I'm expecting it to get better though it's still seems to be in the set-up stage

message 393: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ Just started although of course you end up becoming yourself.

message 394: by KSMary (new)

KSMary I'm taking The Postmistress by Sarah Blake to work with me today. My daughter is taking The Last Song with her to school today so she has something to read. I might start The Host by Stephenie Meyer this week too.

message 395: by [deleted user] (new)

I hope my praise is worth it. Enjoy the book!

KSMary, the Postmistress looks like it will be a good read.

message 396: by Elizabeth☮ (new)
