Jessica B | 292 comments I just finished Something About You by Julie James . It was a little slow to get going but worth it. The romance was cute and there were definitely some steamy scenes!

I'm still going to read Wallflowers first. I love those little tidbits about the married people in later on books. Nora Roberts does that sometimes. It's cute. :)

I'm looking forward to her next book too. It sounds great. Have you read her other two books?

message 1105: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Yup. I think my favorite was Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James , although they all are amazing.

I still have 20 pages left, but let me just now that Pale Demon (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #9) by Kim Harrison is awesome and you all should buy it when it comes out.

I keep hearing that this one is really good. I can't wait to get my hands on it!!

There are a few things that you're going to love. I need the next book now!

Angela B I have it on pre-order already :)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I haven't read any of Harrison's books.

I just read Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers . It was a super fast read and i liked it. It was the most depressing book as of yet by Summers. They never have HEA, but this was ended and I wasn't left feeling fulfilled. I still like it, but I think Some Girs Are is her best.

I'm going to read Some Girls Are soon. I have it checked out from the library right now. I have too much out right now. I'm getting overwhelmed and stressed about reading at the moment.

message 1112: by Whitney (last edited Feb 03, 2011 09:18PM) (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I need to read a book by her as well. Hmmm maybe I will download an Ebook format of it Ive been looking for something to dl that wont be a waste of money. Like this month Im reading Nora Roberts and was going to Dl the ebook but they are reg price I think and my used book store had it for 2 dollars in good shape they also had Darkfever with the blue cover for 3 so I got those its better than paying full price and the shape was perfect. thats not on topic sorry im really bored been reading all day and I am trying to take a break I have class in the morning.

message 1113: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) Read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and still not sure whether I loved it or hated it, probably a little of both.

Just read Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill and it was fantastic. It's an all-around solid UF series.

message 1114: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Just keep in mind that Courtney Summers books are always kind of uncomfortable to read. They are fast reads, but not light.

message 1115: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
I figured that out. it's part of the reason why I've had the book for 2 weeks and haven't picked it up yet. I don't want to be depressed.

message 1116: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments You know, I should have rated Some Girls Are 5 stars. Even though it has been over a year since I read it, I think about it a lot. It was one of those books where I was super pissed while reading it and yelling (out loud) at the characters. I would say her othr books are more depressing, while this one was just mean, and dark I guess.

message 1117: by Leslie Bhargava (new)

Leslie Bhargava | 6 comments Finished Bloodshot (The Cheshire Red Reports, #1) by Cherie Priest and The Greyfriar (Vampire Empire, #1) by Clay Griffith . Both were fantastic reads. Can't wait for the the continuation of them.

message 1118: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Carrie (Care) wrote: "I haven't read any of Harrison's books."

I haven't either. I feel like I should give one a try soon just because I hear about them a lot here.

& I don't even know if I want to read Some Girls Are anymore. O.o I don't mind sad/mean books. . .but life is already plenty hard without a mean book on top of it. ><

I just read Vampire Empire this week too. While not a fan of steampunk, I thought this one was ok.

message 1120: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments ...just finished Jane by April Lindner a very good contemporary retelling of Jane Eyre. It was awesome that Mr. Rochester was a rock star, and get this, it.made.sense! :) Recommended.

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones

Good addition to the urbanfantasy genre. Rheyes is really hot :)

message 1122: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I finished All-American Girl (All-American Girl, #1) by Meg Cabot . It was a cute, light read.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Leslie wrote: "Finished Bloodshot (The Cheshire Red Reports, #1) by Cherie Priest and The Greyfriar (Vampire Empire, #1) by Clay Griffith. Both were fantastic reads. Can't wait for the the continuation of them."

I've been meaning to check out Vampire Empire. Glad you liked Blood Shot I just preordered it and I'm looking forward to it.

message 1124: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne I just finished Need (Need, #1) by Carrie Jones and thought it was pretty good.

message 1125: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (ASS24) | 15 comments i just read Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White . it was really good, although it's short. i loved it.

message 1126: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished Until You (Westmoreland, #3) by Judith McNaught on the weekend. It is the third book from the Westmoreland series. Not as enjoyable as the first two but still good.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 185 comments I just read Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble (Jolie Wilkins, #1) by H.P. Mallory and Toil and Trouble (Jolie Wilkins, #2) by H.P. Mallory and while pretty good reads the next one will not be out until 2012....urgh I hate waiting....

message 1128: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just read "Too Cute and Other Adorable Stories for Rotten Children" (I love kids books) and this book was hilarious. For some reason it reminded me of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. Although there wasn't a Moose. Or a flying squirrel anywhere in sight. And "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" cute book. Didn't really like Greg. He was kind of a tool. And "And Falling Fly" Didn't like it AT ALL. Had to put it down half way through and move on to the next in my pile. And then I topped the weekend off by re-reading "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" I LOVE that book. Kit/Nat may be the first book couple that I hard core shipped.

message 1129: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished listening to The Passion. I didn't really care for the book, but I think my mood at the time played a part. I haven't read the 1st two books of the trilogy. I bought this audio in Oct 2010 and I wonder if I meant to buy book one. Anyway the ending was good and that's why I gave the story 3 stars.

message 1130: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Feb 10, 2011 10:19PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments The Golden Spiral (Hourglass Door Trilogy, #2) by Lisa Mangum

Second book in the Hourglass Door trilogy. I liked this one as much as the first, even though it was completely different. The first was a cute love story, the time travel/river of time thing almost being in the background while the girl and guy fell in love while working on a school play together and hanging out at a nightclub, etc.

The second book was a bit darker as their enemy stalked the girl lead, and the hero was stuck in a dark void for most of the book. I liked the added suspense, and was okay with there being a little less in regard to the love story, since when they finally came back together it was a sweet reunion. I really liked the villain in this book. Am I supposed to have a crush on the villain?

message 1131: by Jami (new)

Jami (gurugoodwin) | 53 comments I just read http://www.goodreads.com/book/photo/9...

and it was horrible. Don't wast your time on the predictable zombie book.

I have the audio for this one....I will be listening soon...but will also be my first Kleypas book

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I really do like Kleypas. Her writing is very easy to get into.

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments All Night with a Rogue (Lords of Vice, #1) by Alexandra Hawkins

I really like this author. The book's really interesting to get into and a super fast read. I started her second book right after the first.

message 1136: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished I Am Number Four and although I wasn't impressed (and probably won't be continuing with the series) I wouldn't steer other readers away from it. Just a bit blah...

message 1137: by Casey (new)

Casey (caseyjohnson432) | 5 comments Just read Anna and the French Kiss && Unearthly THEY WERE BOTH A M A Z I N G. My new favorite books of the month. Now i have know idea what i'm gonna read that could possibly own up to those two amazing books!! D:

message 1138: by Carrie (Care) (last edited Feb 13, 2011 05:08PM) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Oh yay! Anna and the French kiss is one of my favourites now. I still have to read Unearthly. I hope to after I finish the book I am reading now.

I finished The Eye of the World and even though its not even close to my favourite in the WoT series, I still love it. There is so much forshadowing and clues to future events in the early books. I can't believe R.J. planned some of these things so far back in the series. Going to start book 2 (one of my favourites!) once my friend has caught up and finished this one.

message 1139: by Casey (new)

Casey (caseyjohnson432) | 5 comments Oh you will love Unearthly! :)

And does anyone know if Nightshade is any good? I've been contemplating on whether or not it will be a good or a disappointing book for me to read, i've had a bunch of mixed thoughts about it....So i'm not sure.......

message 1140: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I really liked Nightshade. I think I gave it 4.5 stars.

message 1141: by Irene (new)

Irene Hollimon | 89 comments I just read Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate and Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate

Fallen took me a long time to get into but it got good at the end
Torment was a good addition to the series
I'll be reading the third book when it comes out.

message 1142: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
Whether you like it or not, Nightshade was unique so at least you're not reading the same YA book as every other one. There's still the boy drama, but at least the world is a bit different.

message 1143: by [deleted user] (new)

Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver

finished this one (just in time for valentines day haha) and it was so good. the ending destroyed me though. Why do all YA books nowadays have to have super intense cliffhangers guh

I could have got that one, but everybody loved and raved about Before I Fall and I just thought it was so so, so I figured I would pass on this one. I might read it someday depending on my mood.

Jessica B | 292 comments Finished Ruthless (The House of Rohan, #1) by Anne Stuart yesterday. i love Anne Stuart and this one did not disappoint. She writes the darkest heroes I've ever read. I also highly recommend the Ice series by her.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments That's one author I've really been wanting to try.

message 1148: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments You should definitely check her out!

Her Ice series is one of my all time favourites!

Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart Cold As Ice (Ice, #2) by Anne Stuart Ice Blue (Ice, #3) by Anne Stuart Ice Storm (Ice, #4) by Anne Stuart Fire And Ice (Ice, #5) by Anne Stuart

Just read Awakened (House of Night, #8) by P.C. Cast .
It's so so. I remember loving this series, but as I've read more and more pnr, uf, and ya I've realized it's no where near as good as I had thought.
It's not as bad as Ever and her crew in the Immortals though. This one had some emotional stuff.

message 1150: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I finished The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer last night. I have to say that the beginning was CRAP! But after about 200 pages it really picked up and I ended up loving it.
