So how old is your brother? My nephew is 12 and loves Percy Jackson and used to love Cirque da Freak, I thought he might like this series.

Its starts off jumping right into the story. And I think alot of Middle graders can relate to the changes emotionaly and phisicaly that Vlad is going through as well as it having some hilarious parts that had me LAUGHING OUT LOUD.

it was a really good Middle Grades book. I read it and kept in mind if I would recomend it to my little brother or not and thats the way I dec..."I totally agree! The books were good but middle school/high school boys would be a good audience.
Just finished
. It was a little cheesy but I think everyone needs some of that every once in a while. Good read... 4 stars!
Jessica B wrote: "Just finished

Did you try the next book after Fantasy Lover? It's different. Writing is a little similar, but not quite the same.
Darcy wrote: "Heather wrote: "I liked Evernight, but the books have tapered off a bit since then for me."I agree with you about these books."
I actually agree as well....
Shera (Book Whispers) wrote: "Not sure if I really want to read Born of Night. Fantasy Lover didn't exactly blow me away."I've only read one of the Dark Hunter books so I can't really judge the series yet, but I liked Born of Night better than the DH one that I read.
The HelpI'm putting this book down. I do not like the type of characters in the story, specifically Miss Hilly and Miss Leefolt. I've experienced women like that in the late 60's and I don't want to read about them. Hate and immorality disguised as decency and moral behavior. They make me sick. Good writing.

I read the last two chapters, so there was payback. I just didn't want to read the story. Maybe later.
No I haven't read any after Fantasy Lover. I plan on doing it, but there are other reads out there until then . . .
LOVING this series - almost heading into 'fangirl' love here.
I really do plan on reading more of Dark Hunter soon, but this series started off SO much better. I was into these books right away, whereas DH was kind of just okay for me.
and it was disappointing specially since I re-read Soulless right before starting this one. Not enough Lord Maccon, predictable plot and certain characters were so dumb i wanted to slap them. And that cliffhanger ending..guh
Jess wrote: "I just read Nevermore, I really liked the beginning but the end kind of lost it for me. Blah."Then don't read any more into the series, the other books get worse.
I finished listening to The Replacement and it was a good story. The book was in 1st person and that person was a changeling who survived into his teens. Very unusual. It is a different twist on the changeling tale and we were able to see Mackie's thoughts and emotions.
I have recently finished
- Pretty good start to the series...I've been putting off the next two because I have heard they just don't compete.
- Nice little short story about Valek.
- Great historical romance! Loved it!
- I thought it was just okay but plan to continue the series eventually.
- I just love Lisa Kleypas and this one did NOT disappoint!
Jessica B wrote: "

The Highlander books do get better as they go. #3 is where it starts, then from there on it is hard to put them down.
I just finished #3 of Highlander and it was better than books 1 and 2 for sure. I'm finally starting to really like the series.@ Jessica B,
I'm also reading Seduce me at Sunrise right now. I'm really enjoying it.
I will definitely be continuing the Highlander series. Glad to hear that they do get better. I plan to finish them in the new year!Angela --- I thought Assassin Study was a cute little short story. I don't think it will take away from the others if you don't read it but it does give us the idea of how Valek feels about Yelena.
Stacia --- Seduce me at Sunrise was wonderful! I'm on the next Hathaway book now Tempt me at Twilight and I am also really enjoying that one!!!
I heard that in a few books it goes to straight porn for just about every book! Haven't read the series though.
spoilers for anita blake
...is it bad that i'm kind of looking forward to the porn? :x Though I did cheat and check wikipedia for spoilers and when it said she got some supercool power that forces her to have sex multiple times a day I was like...are you serious? haha

and I am so glad that after 6 books Anita FINALLY got some nookie."
**spoiler maybe**
yeah soon you'll wish she spots getting it lol
Haha. I will say that Anita Blake taught me more than I ever needed to know, or wanted to, but at least now I'm educated enough to know that things I once thought physically impossible aren't so much. The series kills me. I'm too much of a prude for it, but when the plot is good it's great. I gave up struggling with them and I've just decided to get over and keep reading as new books come out. There are some books that are good enough to re-read, but others are frightening.
I'd take me 20 days to re-read the series. That's a lot of re-reading. Luckily, I remember enough that it's not necessary unless I really want to.

? I just snagged it for free and wondered it if was worth the read?If anyone wants an epub copy of it, let me know."
I tried it, but it wasn't for me. I do know a lot of people do like her and that series, so give it a try.
Haha. Meany. I've been wanting to try the series. I'm waiting for my library to get her newest book.

Yup same. I remember reading it and abondoning it 50 pages in (though I can't really remember why. I think I found it a bit boring), but a lot of people recommended it to me so...

Yeah, it's on my literature bucketlist to finish all the anita blake series, so I'm going to struggle through them, even with all the crazy sex scenes haha
