Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments ***SPOILERS*** for Scorch Trials

I just had this feeling about Brenda that maybe she was part of the whole thing too. Then there was that dream where she could talk to him in his head. Idk, I just got a weird vibe from her.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Taken By The Others (H & W Investigations, #2) by Jess Haines Finished this a bit ago. This definitely left the 3/5 rating I gave to the first book way behind. Now I have to wait for book 3. +_+

Sooz Malinoski (soozee) | 55 comments Just finished this The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers and liked it. It was a fast and fun read. Will read the first in the series and also the next one.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Just finished the last WoT book, The Gathering Storm (Wheel of Time, #12; A Memory of Light, #1) by Robert Jordan . I soooooooooooooooooooo love this book. I actually did extra work today just so I could continue listening to the audiobook. I had to finish it before I went back to being mommy.

OMG, I don't even know if I should bother reading another book right now since the next book comes out tomorrow. I am so excited, I don't know if I can sleep tonight. Isn't that sad?

message 705: by Angela (new)

Angela B That's sad but cute Carrie!

message 706: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) Have fun with Towers of Midnight tomorrow!!

message 707: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Thanks! I am still up at 2:30 am doing a live podcast at the midnight book signing. I couldn't be there in person but I am there in voice. :D

message 708: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) Sounds like fun times :)

message 709: by Angela (new)

Angela B I finally finished Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger and once I got to the end of it I decided that I liked it and will probably get the next one but it took a lot of time to convince me!

message 710: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just read Bruiser by Neal Shusterman and if you've read Unwind and liked it, I think you'd like this one, too.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Just finished Moonlight, finally felt good enought to hold up a book again. +_+ It was better then I thought it would be. I actually enjoyed the whole "soulmate" thing.

message 712: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 24 comments I just finished reading Trickster's Girl by Hilari Bell & I didn't really like it. It's rare when I just dislike I book, most books are "my favorite" until I've finished another book & then it's "my favorite". But I don't know. It's a dystopian story about how the earth hasn't been taken care of & a Trickster comes to get this human girl to try to health the earth... I kept waiting for something to happen & it never really did. The ending was awful.... I was just really disappointed.

Trickster's Girl by Hilari Bell

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments Awww. That stinks. Sounds like my experience with a book called The Line. It had so much promise, but nothing really happened and I kept reading because I was positive that it would miraculously get better.

message 714: by Angela (new)

Angela B Awwww and I wanted to read that one too Stacia, it's cover is so pretty

message 715: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 24 comments I wanted to read The Line too! Man...

message 716: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Just finished Towers of Midnight (Wheel of Time, #13; Memory of Light, #2) by Robert Jordan (I can't wait to see what the ebook cover will look like when it finally comes out). Wow, I feel so emotionally drained. I loved the book. It was different than a lot of them, but it seemed like it had to be in a way. I won't write a review here since most of you haven't read the series, but if somebody was interested in reading it here is the link: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Now I don't know what to do with myself.

That is a good series. I too can't wait for the next one.

No what you mean. It's like the end of a era. I haven't even read the final books yet.

I've been meaning to get to that series, glad to hear that it keeps getting better.

message 720: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 24 comments I just finished The Lipstick Laws & it was a really fun read!

The Lipstick Laws by Amy Holder

message 721: by [deleted user] (new)

The Broken Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #2) by N.K. Jemisin and it blew my socks off! I loved it so much, just as great as its prequel

message 722: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments Zuleika wrote: "The Broken Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #2) by N.K. Jemisin and it blew my socks off! I loved it so much, just as great as its prequel"

I really liked the last one, but unfortunately my library doesn't even have it on order yet. :(

I'm glad to hear of of its wonderfulness, though!

message 723: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished Raven's Shadow (Raven Set, #1) by Patricia Briggs by the wonderful Patricia Briggs, but for some reason her fantasy stuff doesn't work for me like her Mercy series, yet it's still miles above and beyond a lot of other stuff out there.

Then because I couldn't sleep, I finished Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler (I finally got it from the library, Angela!) and I thought it was a really sweet story.

message 724: by Angela (new)

Angela B I so loved that book

message 725: by Amanda (new)

Dont even get me started on the Strange Angels series. It's one of my favorites and i am highly anticipating the 4th book!

message 726: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Hmmmm, I read the first but I wasn't really into it. So I guess I should try the second one then.

message 727: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
I never even though about picking them up. Maybe I should.

message 728: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) It is a series you will either get into right away or not. In my opinion I don't think by reading more into the series you will like it better. It is my favorite so I love giving it as a recommendation, but it definately does not suit all readers.

message 729: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I've just finished Dark Road to Darjeeling by Deanna Raybourn and I'm just as happy with this installment as I was with the first, second, oh and third...I'm sensing a pattern here. :D

Hope you like them, Stacia.

Samantha | 432 comments Angela wrote: "I so loved that book"

Have you heard about the new one she's got coming out?

It's Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler Fixing Delilah. It's out on December 1st, looks interesting.

message 731: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Nov 12, 2010 01:23PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I love that cover (Dark Road).

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments That cover is really cool, different . . .

message 733: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I recently finished Nevermore (Nevermore, #1) by Kelly Creagh and I absolutely loved it. One of my favourites this year.

I'm currently 64% into Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane . A friend on here recommended the series to me and I am enjoying so far. Definitely a different feel to it but I am a fan of much darker reads.

message 734: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments I feel like readers of Nevermore have extreme opinions. The ones I've read are either people that think it's absolutely horrible, and then there are others that love it. I can't wait to try it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Yeah, this is one of those love it or hate it reads it seems.

message 736: by Amanda (last edited Nov 12, 2010 06:54PM) (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I just finished The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff and I have to give kudos to the author for her originality. The book was just weird and a little creepy. I'm not sure if I actually liked it, I am still thinking about it though. It is a YA book, the characters were defiantely YA, but the story was almost a little too creepy to be YA. It wasn't scarey or horrifying, just weird creepy.

message 737: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 432 comments I just finished Secondhand Charm by Julie Berry , which for me was soo disappointing. A case where I could see the potential to be a lovely read, but it was so poorly executed it was glaring.

Amanda- The Replacement was a bit strange, but most of my issues were with Tate, ugh! she was annoying.

No I hadn't heard about this one it does look good!

message 739: by Adriana (new)

Adriana (adrinori) Im in the middle of reading Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer and so far i love it...

message 740: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments I just finished Pride and Prejudice: the graphic -frickin'- novel. It was...weird and short and the Bennet girls look nothing like I was expecting, their beauty was harsh and modern. But it was P&P so I flippin' loved it. Those people have my number. I will buy/read/watch anything that Mr. Darcy is attatched to.

message 741: by Angela (new)

Angela B I finished The Reckoning and was a bit bummed by the end of this series

message 742: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq Always a Witch (Witch, #2) by Carolyn MacCullough .. I thought it was much better than Once a Witch :)

message 743: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) Angela wrote: "I finished The Reckoning and was a bit bummed by the end of this series"

The authors new triology is going to connect the characters from The Darkest Powers (The Summoning, Awakening and Reckoning) with the characters in her new triology, The Darkness Rising (First book is The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong ). But not until the last book of the new triology.

Good to know, I'm hoping to read Once a Witch later this month. It sounds interesting, with pretty decent reviews.

I am glad to her that too as I wanted to use the first one for my A-Z challenge. I haven't heard great things about it though, so hearing the second is better gives me more hope.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Read Hush, Hush. Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick Disappionted after all the hype.

message 747: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I just finished Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane . Very different from what I am used to but I did enjoy it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Glad to hear it. This one seems like a love or hate read.

message 749: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 292 comments I could definitely see how some people wouldn't like it. But I am one of those people who always roots for the underdog and the two main characters are both underdogs and in a weird way easy to love.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I always love the underdogs.
