It was a neat concept and universe. However the ending confused me. I just could not entirely grasp what everyone was going to do in the new expanding world.
Sooz wrote about the The Alchemyst : "I enjoy this series. Sometimes it gets annoying, but I remember that it is a YA book and give it a bit of leeway."I do need to remind myself that the book is YA. I enjoyed the Alchemyst. I am now reading The Magician. This book is taking me a while to read. Though the book is a fast read, I start reading too late at night and fail asleep!

I don't remember very much about the ending but I do remember I was somewhat disappoited by it
I gave up on the Midnighters books. I think I made it about 150ish pages before I decided it wasn't for me.
I finished
. I liked it and it was different from most werewolf books. The writing was great, but I still didn't love it. I have yet to find a werewolf book that I love.
She didn't like Briggs so I doubt she'll like Vaughn. I'm not sure about Blood and Chocolate since I haven't read it yet.
It was one of the "firsts." It definitely has a different feel from Briggs and Vaughn. Plus the weres aren't out of the closet in Blood and Chocolate.
I have some of the Kitty books, so I mean to get to them someday. Haven't read Blood and Chocolate either. So far I couldn't get into Bitten, Mercy, or Vincent's Shifter series. But I have only read one or two in each. Didn't love Shiver either, it was merely a ok-like read for me. I love Kate Daniels, but it's not really a shifter/were series. I liked Jane Yellowrock and Sisters Red, but haven't really fell in love with a shifter series yet. I guess I'm picky.
Know the feeling. Briggs and Vaughns series may have similaties, but they stand out from each other. Bitten was really hard for me to get into. In fact, I wasn't a huge fan until I moved on to other books by Armstrong. Shiver was, Ok. Vincent, I've only read the first book and I thought it was fun. Yellowrock and Sisters Reds are ones I haven't read yet.
Looking back on it, it is hard to find completely addicting shifter books. Then again I like Briggs sereis alot. It's Ok to be picky!!
I really like Blood and Chocolate. I know a lot of people have problems with it, but personally it's one of my favorites. I think that was one of the first books I read that had to do with paranormal elements. :) I really wish the author would write a sequel! :)
It is good. She was one of the first authors out there with UF type elements. I'm so glad it's easier to find uf books now. I remember the scary days when you had to hunt high and low for it.Hmmm . . . I'll have to post my review. I looked at some of the reviews, and they make me sad!
I just finished
it wasn't great but it wasn't exactly bad either. I like Madison and he relationship with her reapers so I probably will continue with the series, they are short reads so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time on them or anything
Ya, I feel like I'm not losing much of my time since they take an hour and a half as long as I check them out at the library. I still need to be swayed to think they're good though. Harrison shocked me with these since I expected more.
Ugh... I still need to finish Harrison's other books. There's not enough time in a day. If I listened to audio books I'm sure I could get much more done, but unless I'm traveling long distance it's hard for me to get into them.

I think I bought the first one in soft cover and then got the second from the library so I didn't spend too much money on them but still kinda bummed! and yes you do Heather they are one of my favorites!
I'll finish them. I really like them. I just use them as filler books when I've got down time between series.
I don't mean filler as in fluff. I own them and I always have too many library books to get to the ones I own so I use them when I can't motivate myself to read what's currently checked out. I just have all the time in the world to get to them, basically.
Ah, I see! Glad you enjoy them. That's why I usually try to avoid library books. I always feel I need to get to them first, which doesn't work well because I'm a spure of the moment reader. Plus renewing them is not good. I always forget. Oh, the fines . . .
Yeah, I could probably afford food more if I could use my library. I live in a small religious town. Let's just say it's hard to get books there I like.
I use the library for books that I'm not sure I'll like (or if I'm short on money). If the series is really good, I can just go ahead and buy the books/ebooks anyway.
I just read
and it was pretty darn good.
It's book 4 in the series. The books get better as the series goes on. I wasn't much impressed with book 1. Book 2 was okay and if you make through book 2, you'll like the series. Unfortunately, I don't recommend skipping.
Maybe that was my problem. I read book one and haven't bothered reading the rest. I still by them though, so I'm going to have to take the plunge.
Oh they get so much better as they go! I really liked the second one, but I LOVED the third and fourth.
Yep, I didn't want to like the series and book 1 was so blah that I didn't want to go on, but I gave Carrie the benefit of the doubt and kept reading. It gets much better.
Carrie (Care) wrote: "Oh they get so much better as they go! I really liked the second one, but I LOVED the third and fourth."*cough* Shifters series
Someday I'm going to read book 2 in Kate Daniels and you're gonna get around to Shifters because we keep saying the exact same things about those series.
Okay, so I'm just going to enforce this. On November 13th Carrie will start the next shifters, you'll read the next Kate, and I'll try and get through Eye of whatever. It gives us enough time for Carrie to finish her rereads and to plan. I think we should throw in that Angela will read the first Night Huntress as well even though she's managed to keep herself out of this.
...see look - Book Nazi!

Mid November would be a good timeline, since October will be for cramming in the last few challenge reads.Yes, Angela...Night Huntress = Good!
Hahahaha. I feel like we've got caught arguing in school and the teacher (unhem, Heather) is giving us extra homework, lol. November 13 eh? It works for me. Angela definitely needs to get on the Bones love train.
I just finished reading
and it was fantastic. Great start to a new series! I've already started the second one. Also in exciting news!! I ordered a Kindle last night! I should get it by the end of next week.
I just can't make the switch to kindle.Glad to here the Peeler book is good. I really need to get more consistant with my reading plans so I can get to all the books I have.
I never thought I'd like ebooks as much as I do. I have been reading them for a while though on my phone and laptop. I still buy my favourite books though. I just finished
and it was a pretty good book. I enjoyed the different culture and change in environment from most YA books.
My boyfriend kind of put his foot down and said.."NO MORE BOOKS in the house until I get rid of some" so this was my solution. No more books in the house and I don't have to get rid of any. I plan to still buy my favourites, just don't tell him that! :)
Ah haha. Space saving is good. I've got three major bookshelves in my house and I even double shelved them and it's still over flowing with books. Go to that link to check them out.

Looking at my shelves and lack of space really makes me think I need some kind of Ereader.
Shera, I love your shelves! I love how you have incorporated everything you love into them! It is so nice when you can just look at your bookshelf and that is enough to make you smile!Your shelves however are much more organized then mine. I have books everywhere and not even with their respective series! I really think once I get the ereader my next goal will be to organize what I have!
They're a lot of up keep. Especially at the rate I get books, though I don't get as many now that I'm a full time student. I'm so obsessed with myshelves it's my "therapy" when I have to rearrange them.
Oh I see WoT! :D I had to double up my books on my shelves too, but I also had books 2 deep and stacked on top. I got rid of boxes of books I had. A lot were Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance type fantasy. I only have two bookshelves now - one for my YA and one for epic fantasy. I have bookshelves built into the wall going up my stairs, and they are mostly gardening, herbal, and self help (mostly parenting) books. Most all of my UF and PNR collection is in ebook format.
I've got books hidden behind books too, but I've been good and taken a lot in for trade. I never could do it until recently. I use to horde my books. I still have boxes of historical books downstairs.
I'm still in the book hording stage. I've got to get rid of my shelf of rejects. Problem is if I rate it 3-5 I keep them.My shelves are two books deep, I've just built blocks for the second row to be elevated.
