Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished Dark Obsession A Novel of Blackheath Moor (Signet Eclipse) by Allison Chase . It was okay, I have the next one in the series, and look forward to reading it one day. I'd recommend to readers who enjoy histotical romance with a paranormal element.

I read that one last year sometime. I thought it was pretty good.

Megan | 1285 comments I finished Holiday With a Vampire by Caridad Piñeiro okay, not a keeper though. I'm reading one short story in A Holiday Of Love Miracles / Change of Heart / Daniel and the Angel / Hark! The Herald by Judith McNaught to keep me busy until Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead comes out tomorrow

I finished Scent of Darkness (Darkness Chosen, #1) by Christina Dodd , which I loved! It was just a different sort of shape shifter story for me. I can't believe I had this book for almost 2 yrs, and just now got around to reading it, shame on me!

Actually I find that reading books from different genres makes it easier to keep characters and plot lines from blurring together.

Exactly Sandra! If I read 7 Romantic suspense at one time or any other genre for all the books I'd be lost figuring out which characters and plots go with which book. Genre variety makes it much easier to keep them straight. Less likely to mix up a vampire and a CIA agent than I am a vampire and a vampire. LOL

Yes, I can see how that's true. I just recently was juggling 3 books, and I didn't have a problem knowing what was going on in each one.

message 565: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I'm still working on The Duke (Knight Miscellany, #1) by Gaelen Foley , but I should be done with that soon. I know I'll stick with historical romance. I'm just not sure if I'll start Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , or stay with the Knight Miscellany series and go with Lord of Fire (Knight Miscellany, #2) by Gaelen Foley .

I try to hold off on the Christmas stories until around the 15th, so I don't overload before the holiday is actually here. :O

I know what you mean. I'm still holding off on Christmas stories, movies, and music for another week or so. That way, my holiday spirit is at it peak on the actual day, LOL!

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading The Duke, which I think was really good. I'm starting Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , and Married with Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1) by Jesse Petersen .

message 569: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished Married with Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1) by Jesse Petersen . It was a quick and easy read, with some pretty funny moments. I'm definitely looking forward to buying Flip this Zombie (Living with the Dead, #2) by Jesse Petersen when it comes out.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Sandra J wrote: "I just started Death's Excellent Vacation (Includes Night Huntress, #4.5; Sookie Stackhouse, #10.1,) by Charlaine Harris."

Is the Sookie story in there a new one, or was it also published in the collection
A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris ?

message 575: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments The story is called "Two Blondes." The anthology has a copyright of 2010, so it's probably a new story. I quit the Sookie series at book 4, and I haven't read any stellar reviews of this anthology. However, I got it out of the library so I'm not out any money if it's a dud. I took it out to try out some new to me authors. The Jeaniene Frost story, "One for the Money," was okay.

message 576: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I'm almost done with Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , which is okay so far. I'm going to start reading The Twilight Before Christmas (Includes Drake Sisters, #2; Christmas, #2) by Christine Feehan as well.

message 577: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finally finished Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead , which I actually thought was a little disappointing and anti-climactic. I'm moving onto a palate cleanser: The Brides of Christmas (Includes Warrior, #11) by Jo Beverley

message 578: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments I finished Death's Excellent Vacation which was an okay read. I'm glad I didn't buy it since there's nothing in it I want to reread (and I reread a lot). It's worth a trip to the library to try it out though. I only found two stories out of the thirteen that I didn't finish.

message 579: by Megan (last edited Dec 19, 2010 08:45AM) (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished The Brides of Christmas (Includes Warrior, #11; de Burgh, #3.5) by Jo Beverley , two stories were okay, but the one by Deborah Simmons was AMAZING!! I'm going to try to read a library book next- Night of the Vampires (Hqn) by Heather Graham

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Just finished Kushiel's Dart and loved it! Now I'm on to The Penwyth Curse (Medieval Song, # 6) by Catherine Coulter .

message 582: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished A Christmas Bride (Harlequin Regency Romance, #112) by Brenda Hiatt early this morning- it was okay. I am moving onto A Darcy Christmas by Amanda Grange

message 583: by Michelle (last edited Dec 20, 2010 04:46PM) (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments It's not that The Twilight Before Christmas (Includes Drake Sisters, #2; Christmas, #2) by Christine Feehan isn't good, I just can't get into it right now for some reason. So, what I'm planning to do is focus on Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey , so I can be done reading it by the end of the year, and maybe read a novella from Hot for the Holidays (Includes Breeds, #20; Mageverse, #9; Stormwalker, Prequel) by Lora Leigh .

message 584: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished A Darcy Christmas by Amanda Grange which was good, but not great. I will be moving onto Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros

message 585: by Angela (new)

Angela (ladiromance) Currently reading All the Right Reasons (Damaged Heroes, #3) by Sandy James

Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to everyone!

message 586: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros which was amazing! I will be starting Beastly by Alex Flinn right now (I'm at work), and will probably pick it back up on Sunday... you know, I'll TRY to have a life with my family tomorrow! ;o)

I too, wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!

message 587: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finally finished Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey ! It seems as if it took forever. If there was ever a time when I needed a quick, easy, and light read, its now. I'm going through my books to see what palate cleanser's I have.

Is there a shorter book you have been meaning to read? Or maybe only one or two stories from an anthology that you have been meaning to read? I have also found that a YA book once in awhile is a good palate cleanser.

Thanks Megan. I'm starting Heiress to a Curse by Munson, Zandria , which should be a quick an easy read.

message 591: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading Heiress to a Curse by Zandria Munson, which I thought was pretty good. It was nice to read about about a different sort of paranormal being for a change. I'm off to decide on my next read.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I decided to catch up to my friends that love Vampire Academy, and read Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead . I hate for this series to end :(

message 593: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished Beastly by Alex Flinn which was AMAZING! I am going to start and try to finish Dracula in Love by Karen Essex before Jan. 1st.

I've been meaning to read Dracula in Love for a while now. I can't wait to see what you think!

message 595: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I finished Dracula in Love by Karen Essex and I am sorry to say that I didn't like it... at all. My next book will be... I dunno. Probably one of my challenge books that I'll start on Saturday.

message 596: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I've gone crazy buying ebooks. So today, I started reading Blaze of Glory by Sheryl Nantus , From the Night, the Prince Rises (An Ashen Twilight Prequel Short) by Rae Lori , and flirted with the idea of starting Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley , while still working on Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead .

message 597: by Michelle (last edited Jan 01, 2011 07:41AM) (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading Blaze of Glory by Sheryl Nantus , and From the Night, the Prince Rises (An Ashen Twilight Prequel Short) by Rae Lori . Both were great reads! I'm going continue giving my Nook a workout, and read Beauty & the Geek I Heart Geeks by Janet Eckford .

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

Kelley (shewolf0316) Megan wrote: "I finished Beastly by Alex Flinn which was AMAZING!"

I read it a couple months ago. Or listened, rather. Excellent book. I didn't realize at the time it was going to be a movie out later this year too. Found that out after I finished it. I don't like the pics I've seen though from the movie because they didn't make him look like the beast as described in the book, which was disappointing.

message 599: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments I know Kelley- I noticed that too. It looks like they made him bald and with tattoos or something? Still looks human to me- when he should be a beast. It just makes me wonder what else they changed (from that wonderful book!) I'm glad you liked the book too. How was the reader of the audio?

yeah and that just doesn't have the same affect as the idea of the beauty and the beast fairy tale.

I loved the book. But Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale so I expexcted to like it. The narrator was excellent for the story and did a good job. I hate when you get one with a bad performer.
