Cindi (ourtrumpcard) Finishing up Rise of the Gryphon (Belador, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon , which is really good except for the stilted first couple of pages ...

Ari (aristotlelovesbooks) Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas , after having just finished The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas --which was amazing and heartbreaking.

After just the novellas, I can easily see why the series has so many fans. I cannot wait to start Throne of Glass tomorrow. I need more of this story!

message 35607: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) Eden, do you need to read Throne of Glass 1st, before the novellas?

message 35608: by Ari (new)

Ari (aristotlelovesbooks) Cindi wrote: "Eden, do you need to read Throne of Glass 1st, before the novellas?"

I don't believe so. As a matter of fact, when I asked others, they told me to read the novellas first, since it's an...introduction, of sorts, into Celaena's past before the actual series of novels.

Niamh O'Donovan | 5 comments I started The Change (Unbounded, #1) by Teyla Branton The Change (Unbounded Series.)

So far it's interesting, even if there's a bit of an info dump at the start to bring us all up to speed with the world.

I do find the POV to be a bit strange. There's a huge amount of personal thought, and reflection in it, and it takes me out of the story at times. A little too much tell and not enough show.

I think the Heir Chronicles looks good! But I was talking about the sequel to the Seven Realms Flamecaster (Shattered Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima . I can't decide if it will add to the original series or, perhaps, take away some of my enjoyment of the original characters

Ooh I didn't realise there was a sequel series coming out! So excited now! I don't think it would take away from the original series - CWC is an excellent storyteller and SR was such an incredible world...I've just read the synopsis and it looks great! Not sure how I'll go not being able to read all four at once like I did with SR!

I will admit, I am also very intrigued! You're probably right. It's best to just trust CWC!!

Loved Georgina books...worth working through first one. I had similar experience with Kate Daniels series. I had a hard time getting through the first part book 1. One false start and had to try again. Love Kate Daniels and just got Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews

I get a bit freaked out when I get a final book in a favorite series. Not sure if there will be more in the Dr. Charlotte Stone books, so having book hangover from The Last Time I Saw Her (Dr. Charlotte Stone, #4) by Karen Robards

Listening to Sandra Brown's new book Friction. You always know you are in for an interesting read with her books.

I can't bring myself to read Shadow Heir (Dark Swan, #4) by Richelle Mead . I've read the spoilers and I know I'll be too pissed off which is a shame because that series had so much potential.

And as for Martin I don't read the books but the Red Wedding pissed me off and recent events have pissed me off even more

Randy Smith (noirree) | 37 comments Hi, I have been away for while now I am back...

I am reading the second book in the Greywalker series by Kat Richardson POLTERGEIST. It is about Harper Blaine, a Private Investigator who has a near death experience and come back from it with the ability "tread the thin line between the living world and the paranormal realm. Needless, to say many if not all of her case now seem to have another world attraction. Especially now since the dead as well as the living are seeking her services. The book so far is well written, keeps you quessing and makes you wonder. The best kind of book I think, so check it.

That's the word on the street. I like her so far. I read Outlander and hadn't planned on continuing with the series. Not because I didn't like the book (I did), but because the page count was so daunting. Someone suggested I listen instead, and here I am.
