This was just boring. Not wholly BAD, just boring. So boring that I don't really have anything to say about it. It had a lot of potential, but was just missing...something. Everything was just bland. Not good, not bad, jus... blah. In fact, I am surprised I finished it, actually.
I deserve a skim award.
The secondary characters interested me waaaay more than the main players. And when the sizzle of a side romance overwhelms the main stage, that's never good. Book two sounds interesting, but then again, so did this one. I will probably pass unless I can get it for free or via KU.

Beware of free books on Amazon.
Okay, so this book is about a bunch of elves, specifically the prince of the elves, and apparently they are the ancestors of vampires who were elves that turned evil.
They drink blood, but they also eat fruits and vegetables. I've got to wonder here: have they tried meat? Maybe they don't necessarily need blood, but just crave protein. How do you go from needing a little protein to thinking that the only way to get it is by drinking blood? I'm guessing these guys could just eat a steak and be fine. Of course, I'm from Texas. Our motto is: eat meat. Yeah, we are a simple-fix kinda people. Feeling peckish? Eat some barbecue and you will perk right up. You want some fat with your protein? We can chicken-fry your steak. Problem solved!
Food pyramid or circles of Heaven?
Turns out it's both.
Plus, these guys are elves, right? So what, are they biting ankles? Do we need to go around wearing shin guards? Watch out, ladies. Those sexy little elves are going to be all over your pedicure!
Those little suckers are mean. They really need a burger.
So our human heroine is a doctor/scientist who is drooling over some hot immortal guy who is unconscious on her lab slab. You know, like doctors do. I can't even tell you how many times my gynecologist told me that I'm hot. Of course, that could have been the gonorrhea, but that's a different story for a different day. Oh Vegas. You give so much and ask for so little. Well, except for all of our money.
Anywhooo, the unconscious dude wakes up and bites her which binds her to him for all of eternity. *sigh*
Even all of that would have been fine if the story moved along at a normal pace. But it didn't. It was so excruciatingly slow that I needed a steak just to stop myself from killing everyone in the room by draining their blood.
So, maybe that's what happened with these "evil" elves. They were forced to read books like this and said, "fuck this shit. I'm going on a killing spree." That feels like the true story behind the vampire lore here.
I really did read a lot longer than most people who reviewed this book. I gave it a chance. But, I'm too old for this shit. I'll be dead before the story is over, and I'd probably be happy to die just for it to end. Plus:

I finished this book last night, and almost forgot to write the review. Kissed by a Dark Prince has a good start. The book introduced me to the world that has supernatural creatures among us, I was intrigued by this idea and the concept that the hero is tossed at the heroine's door in the beginning. Of course, she helps him.
But after that grand parade left my brain, I was boring and wondered when this book was going to go back at that pace again. Sadly it didn't. So the first few chapters were what I enjoyed most and the rest were just meh-ish for me. And I extremely hated when Oilvia tried to push Loren away.
"She didn’t know whether to turn in his arms to kiss him or to shove him away. She didn’t know whether to smash the heart he had given to her or to draw it close to her breast and cherish it. The heart of a prince. A heart he hadn’t given to anyone in five thousand years and now she held it in her hands and it frightened her. It was too much, too soon."
Olivia is quite annoying. I knew she has her own problems, but the way she deals with it just didn't work for me. Anyway, Loren is super hot and possessive, I loved every minute I was in his thought seeing how he want to dominate her and make her his.
All in all, if you don't mine a slow-paced book and are a fan of Kresley Cole, this book will be an enjoyable read for you.

Olivia works for Archangel, a research lab and hunter security facility. They study fae, demon and vampire species. Loren is an elf prince. He has been fighting his brother, Vial, for four thousand years. It is after one of their battles that Vial practically leaves Loren on Archangel's doorstep. Olivia is the scientist assigned to study Loren. During the study he regains consciousness. He takes Olivia's blood thereby nourishing his battered body. Loren soon realizes he has found his ki'ara, his eternal mate. Loren and Olivia join forces with Bleu (Loren's second in command) and Sable (Olivia's friend) to fight against Vial and Kordula, a witch. Can Loren save his brother or will he save Olivia from Vial? Will Olivia and Loren complete the bonding to become eternal mates?
The world building is amazing and realistic. The characters are believable. Their lives leap off the page and take the reader into their struggles and triumphs. I look forward to Blue and Sable's stories. The plot and subplots are well developed. This novel is a page turner. There is a cliffhanger. Fifteen books, to date, complete this series. I have a lot of stories to delve into the fantastic worlds created by Felicity Heaton.

I don’t think that I’ve ever managed to catch one of Felicity Heaton’s series from the beginning; usually, by the time I discover them she’s already at least a few books in. So, when I crossed paths with Kissed by a Dark Prince I couldn’t resist bumping it up to the top of my reading pile. I loved this book because on top of getting Heaton’s trademark killer writing style it also features a supe that doesn’t often make appearances in paranormal fiction. Elves generally prefer to hang out in high fantasy as opposed to romance but, I must say, this author does a superb job of sex-ifying the fae!
The opening two chapters of this book really sucked me in; the first because of its intensity and Olivia’s what-the-hell-are-you moment when she first meets Lorne and then the follow-up to that is a scandalously naughty sex dream! Kissed by a Dark Prince definitely starts on a high note and things only get better from there! I enjoyed the world-building; the Eternal Mates universe is fresh and well developed. I also liked discovering all of the little details that make Heaton’s elves unique to the paranormal romance genre. This author has a real knack for picking character names (i.e. Vail, Sable & Bleu) and for inventing terminology that helps to further enriche her world.
Normally I’m not a fan of insta-love but in this instance I liked Heaton’s spin on the typical mate bond. Olivia and Lorne’s connection goes beyond the standard attraction; they are actually linked to each other on a physical level as well meaning, when one’s scared, the other’s heart rate accelerates. I thought that this was a neat play on the standard soulmate gimmick. Olivia and Lorne’s relationship is also an integral part of this novel’s plot line which helped make it more believable and, even though there was insta-love on the prince’s side, it took a while for the doc to come around which I liked. It’s important to make men work for it ladies!
I was surprised by the complexity of this book’s story given the genre; Kissed by a Dark Prince‘s plot is full of twists and turns, and the ending will definitely catch you by surprise. When you’re reading this novel, make sure that you enjoy that sex dream I mentioned earlier because you’re going to have to wait a good one hundred plus pages for more steam action. Although granted, you can cut the tension between Lorne and Olivia with a knife. I also enjoyed meeting all of this series’ new characters and I already have a few favourites whose respective stories I can’t wait to dive into!

Five reasons to grab your earbuds and listen to Kissed by a Dark Prince
Heaton has long been on my list of authors to try and I quickly saw why readers enjoy her brand of paranormal romance. The world-building is brilliant and fresh. Imagine my surprise when I discovered Elves! I was tickled to find not only FAE in a paranormal fiction but to see them in a completely new light. Heaton put her own spin on these supernatural creatures, from their world, language and mating bonds. Well paced with twist, turns, and sexy chemistry paranormal and urban fantasy fans alike will enjoy this series.
In the Eternal Mates series supernatural and humans coexist with the supernatural traveling between portals. The Elves are an ancient race and in Kissed by a Dark Prince, they are the ancestors of vampires. These vampires are an inferior race and are ruthless, twisted, and dark. In this story, we focus on the Elves, but Heaton has already hinted that other creatures dwell within these worlds. A human organization known as Archangel hunt supernatural creatures and are a bit of a mystery. Olivia works for them as a scientist studying these creatures.
While the romance is at the core of this story, Heaton offered us a complex world and plot that quickly draws the reader in. I loved that the world came to life in vivid colors around me as I listened. The author surprised me with twists and turns that kept me listening into the wee hours. While I want to learn more about the creatures that exist and more about the Archangel organization, I was delighted by this first in series. Secondary characters like Bleu, Sable and Throne were developed and already I am anxious for some of their stories
I am just going to put this out there, the romance begins with insta-love as Loren’s mating bond kicks in. Go ahead and groan but do not dismiss Kissed by a Dark Prince just yet. Their romance starts hot and heavy in the form of a dream, but then kicks down a notch as they work together and get to know each other. Olivia has some trust issues and her heart and body are saying one thing but her brain clearly remembers prior relationships and bad decisions. Heaton’s mating bond was unique effecting them on a physical level. I loved how Loren refers to Olivia as his k'iara. He is definitely an alpha from losing it when someone looks at Olivia to struggles with Olivia insecurities and denials. He has waited over forty centuries to find his mate and honestly, I was anxious for her to submit as well. Their chemistry was off the charts making this romance believable and one I quickly began rooting for.
Kissed by a Dark Prince was a strong beginning to the Eternal Mates series. The last quarter of the audio had me listening nonstop and I cannot wait to dive into Claimed by a Demon King. For those who listen to audiobooks, Charlotte Wright, a new to me narrator was delightful. From her soothing lilt to the different voices she created for each character. I was enthralled. I struggle more with female narrators finding them too breathy or fast paced, but Wright drew me in and I hope she continues with this series.

This was an OK start to this series. I enjoyed it some, but it felt super boring sometimes. The truth is I could have just drooped it and forget about it in 2 days time.
The characters felt bland, the plot is ok(meh) and the love story just your usual fated mate one. Elf prince finds his eternal mate in a mortal scientist, she works for Archangel( an organisation that studies and deals with prn) , there is a bit of push and pull from both sides, some sexy times and the final battle.
Secondary characters attracted me more than the main couple which is no bueno, but made me curious enough that I wanna read the second book.

Good start for the series. The world sounds interesting but didn't get a complete start in this book. I figure the world development is probably spread out more.
The main characters were fairly well developed but the side characters could have used more fleshing out.
Overall a good book and I am interested in getting further into the series.

Very, very good paranormal romance. I like the bonded for eternity, there is only you for me for all time type stories. I liked this one a lot! On to the next book in the series. Happy reading!

2.75 stars?
It was okay. Not something I'd recommend or something I'd read again. In fact I've already forgotton majority of it except the h was annoying and the H just came off a vanilla pretty boy. At least that's what I think I felt.
The only thing I enjoyed were the side characters. Blue was totally my thing till Thorne showed up and I changed parties before anyone could even say HAWT!
And yet the only reason I'm reading Thorne's story is cause I'm in between exams and didn't want to start a book I'd get lost in.

Bloody Brilliant!

I am a big fan of Ms. Heaton’s Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance series. Since that the series had ended, I have been waiting for another opportunity to read her work. I am so happy that she has a new series that I can follow from the start.
Olivia is a scientist who works for Archangel Labs studying paranormal beings. And the next being on her table is one she is not familiar with. She knows he is different and even more unique is the connection she feels towards him. Prince Loren definitely feels the same way and strengthens a mating bond after biting Olivia for her blood. Deciding the bond was a terrible idea, they will have to work together to find a way to break it.
If you know Ms. Heaton, you know that she writes pretty mind-blowing steamy scenes. She never fails to deliver love scenes that will leave you wishing you were the heroine of the book. Loren is sexy as hell, and despite the lack of practice (he’s been celibate from some time), he sure knows what he’s doing. The attraction and “love” was a bit fast, but it didn’t really feel like an “insta-love” type of romance. It works because the story line included “fated mate” and blood bonding making their “connection” believable. I think that’s why I love the PNR genre. Love has no bounds.
I wasn’t surprised that the world building was intricate and well thought out. Ms. Heaton explained the world well. It was complete with history and drama between the Human, Demon and Elven realms. The history between the human worlds was quite interesting. Ms. Heaton brings a whole new take on Demons, Fae and where Vampires come from. In this world, the vampires are treated like abominations (at least in Loren’s POV). This is where I get confused though, because Eternal Mates and VET are supposed to be in the same world. If you read Ms. Heaton’s VET series, the vampires are far from being abominations. The idea sort of conflicts. Especially if the worlds are suppose to be connected and have some type of crossover. I’ve heard that characters from VET will make an appearance in the next book or two. My man, Snow is suppose to have big cameo. I know that there was already a cameo in this novel though not very prominent. With that said, I want to know what she has up her sleeve.
Secondary Characters were weaved into the story well , and they were heart-droppingly sexy! Ms. Heaton, as always, did a great job with the buildup of their characters. Vail, Blue and Thorne will have their own book with Thorne being the next in the series. The set up for Thorne’s book is obvious. He has the hots for Sable , and it showed all over the place. From the scenes they had together, you can see that they have something intense going on.
I am most curious about Bleu. Something about him screams…“Bad boy but waiting to be tamed by the right female”. I’m bummed his book is not next , and I’m afraid Ms. Heaton will make me wait a long time before we can have his story. That is exactly what she made me do with Snow from VET series. But I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

This is the first of Ms Heatons new Eternal Mates series and not to be missed by her fans and new readers alike. Chock full of her usual trade mark sensual paranormal characters and a really interesting storyline for readers to lose themselves in.
This story is set in the same time period as her erotic Vampire Theatre series but with the addition of amazing elves and one elf in particular , the absolutely panty wetting gorgeous Loren. He's no ordinary elf forget those wrapping presents but imagine instead one over six feet tall with lickable ears and a very hot body! The fact that he's a dark prince with tons of attitude just adds to the fun. Full of ego this warrior finds himself needing help and getting it from an unexpected quarter.
Olivia is human and works as a scientist for the demon hunting organisation known as "Archangel" . Loren has been severely injured and it's Olivia's job to discover his secrets. What she wasn't expecting was for the huge Fae warrior to wake up and bite her! Feeling confused and disorientated when he wakes up Olivia's blood calls out to Loren and it's a call he cannot ignore. Realising that she's his mate Loren has to continue fighting for his homeland whilst fighting the draw he feels for Olivia. Loren will do absolutely anything for his people as it's his duty but what about his growing feelings for Olivia? Danger is closer than they realise and it's entirely possible that they are both about to get burned as the heat between them is explosive. Love love love this book. It's an absolutely fabulous beginning to this new series by this hugely talented author. Yet again Ms Heaton has written a tale that is spellbinding and full of mystery and intrigue but has at it's core an emotional connection that just tugs the reader in. Good guys, bad guys and a heroine that just grows on you. The chemistry between Loren and Olivia is pure dynamite and I can't wait to read the follow up to this . Definitely recommended

The author gave me this book for an honest review
There is always great when a new paranormal romance comes to my attention. And when this paranormal romance is by Felicity Heaton it’s even better. For one more time, she did it again! She wrote a great story with very interesting characters that kept my interesting from the first page until the last! With perfect balance between romance and adventure and with a very well-written world-building, I truly believe that this book is a perfect read for all the fans of this genre!
This story is about Olivia and Loren. She works in a research facility where she studies other species. He is an elf Prince and he finds himself injured and in her work place. From their first meeting it was obvious that they wanted each other but the war in his realm doesn’t let Loren make dreams for his future with Olivia. And when they realized that they are fated mates everything is more complicated for them. And on top of all these, the evil brother is there ready to make his move.
I liked Olivia a lot. Although she experienced grave loss in her past and she’s afraid to take risks, when it’s necessary she does the right thing. She’s also smart, brave and when strong minded woman.
Loren was amazing! He’s not only another sexy elf prince. He’s strong, possessive, protective and determined to do everything right. It’s easy to see that he’s hurting because of his relationship with his brother and he doesn’t know what to do in order not to kill him.
But the success of this book is that not only the main characters are great. It has very cool secondary characters such as Bleu and Sable! I liked them both and their scenes were some of the best in this book!

Why have I put off this series for so long? Oh wait that's because none of the books are at my library and that annoys me. I hate buying a series when I haven't read anything by the author but then I also hate buying the first book and falling in love with it and then going and buying the box set. Wow my whole point of that little rant was that I am very glad I ended up buying the box set because I loved this book.
I love Loren. So so much. He was sweet, kind, loving, and a total badass. Olivia is one lucky bitch. She was pretty cool too I guess. I liked that Loren didn't fight the attraction for too long. That always annoys me when a mated pair try to fight it. If one of the people were horrible I would understand but they aren't in this book. Loren isn't an asshole and Olivia is a stupid twit. It took Olivia longer to agree to be his mate.
The book was fast paced and exciting. I enjoyed everything about it.

If you're looking to spend some time with some Elves this Christmas... well then... this is the book for you! These are not your typical Christmas Santa elves though... these guys are tall, dark, deadly and very easy on the eyes!
The Elf Prince, Loren, has been battling against his brother for centuries. He finds himself flung on the doorstep of Archangel. Olivia is a doctor at Archangel, an organization that studies and guards the human realm from all things paranormal. Olivia is thrilled to have an opportunity to study this rare species that was flung on their doorstep... that is until she discovers that she is supposedly his Kiara (eternal mate). Loren and Olivia decide to find a way to study their blood bond and find a way to break it because neither of them are interested. Well, not at first. This was the best part of the story for me. Watching this Elf Prince, always in control... lose his marbles over his need to complete the bond with Olivia. There were times I kind of felt sorry for him... the need to complete the bond was often over-powering and took quite a lot of self control. His personal guard Bleu, had his hands full with this guy. (insert giggles)
There is so much more to this book than the "tension" between this couple. There is a great story that builds around them. Olivia's back story as to how she came to work at Archangel, the very touching story of Loren and his struggle to save his brother from the powerful witch he is bound too, and the laugh out loud funny relationship that goes on between Bleu and Sable. My absolute FAVORITE character in this book was Sable... Olivia's best friend and hunter of the paranormal. She is such a wonderful kick your butt character. This book really won me over with these two smart, strong female characters. Nice change of pace to see some female characters who can pack a punch.
Reading the interactions that take place between Sable and Loren's personal guard Bleu brought out a serious case of the giggles from me. And, it only got better towards the end with the entrance of the Demon King. Lots and lots of giggles. I absolutely cannot wait for book two! I have to be a part of this battle to win over the tough, I'm gonna' kick your butt Sable. Bleu the elf and the Demon King are going to make for a very entertaining love triangle!
This paranormal romance has a little of everything that I love... humor, tension, an engaging story, with well written characters and just the right amount of steam.
This is an on-going story but you could also easily stop at book one if you wanted. There is closure in regards to Olivia and Loren but it also sets up the stage for more in regards to the other characters in the book. I loved all of the supporting characters and I am totally invested in continuing this series.
Highly recommend to all of my paranormal romance loving friends and followers!

Loved this!
What a fantastic Paranormal Romance this was! It had everything I could hope for - great worldbuilding, nice mix of supernatural species, great story concept with heartfelt consequences, brilliantly sensual romance scenes between likeable characters - AND none of the stuff that usually drives me ever-so-slightly mad in this genre, like meat-head alpha douchcanoe heroes. In fact, our hero, Loren, was practically perfect in every way (just like Mary Poppins), and Olivia, our leading lady, was intelligent, loyal, practical, and a lot sexier than she gave herself credit for. The pair of them had positively sizzling chemistry that was just as sweet as it was sexy. I loved them together! Love, love, loved.
So aside from the delightful and sinfully sexy romance, what else do you get in Kissed by a Dark Prince? Oh, lots of lovely things! Let's start with - Elves as you've never seen them before. As an ancient, noble race who are the forefathers of vampires (their less powerful, completely dark and twisty descendants). Great magical fripparies such as portals to other dimensions, armour that appears or peels back with just a thought. The ability to teleport any object they own to themselves in times of need. And this is just what the Elves can do -there are other species that we will no doubt get to in future books who sound just as fascinating!
Back to the romance for a second - I really enjoyed how the fated mates trope was done slightly differently here. It was still a bit of a growly I-can't-help-myself-you-smell-so-yummy situation, but then when that calmed, they took more of a practical approach to deciding if they should agree with destiny, or try to break the bond before it became permanent. As naive and futile as that endeavour might be. And Loren and Olivia's reasons for wanting to attempt that were compelling and believable, rather than just being an obvious ploy to create conflict. This was a much less infuriating road to take than others I've read, and I really appreciated it.
This has been my first ever Felicity Heaton book, but you can bet your bottom dollar (and your ass) it will not be my last! I simply cannot wait for more of this series and will snaffle up the next book as soon as it becomes available.

Sexy, blood-drinking fae who find their special lady friend by biting? Yes, please!
Once again, Felicity Heaton delivers on the hunky while pairing him with a lady who can handle the ups and downs of a man who has been battling for centuries to protect his people. Olivia might be a little heartsore when it comes to non-human lovers, but she steps up to the plate when she's needed. Not going to lie, their kisses are pretty steamy. I'm surprised the two of them don't overload the power grid at Archangel every time they come into contact.
Loren's not in a good place when he meets Olivia. Physically, he's a wreck and he has a tough TOUGH decision he has to make regarding his kingdom. Things look bad at first and they only get worse the more we learn.
The secondary characters are fun and I am EXCITED with the setup we were given for book 2. Also, there might be a certain shapeshifter who I'm eyeballing and hoping we see more of. Just sayin'. That's right. I do enjoy my shapeshifters. Thank you for noticing.
Sexy, steamy, and with enough action and mayhem to satisfy us bloodthirsty savages who like things messy. Bring on the sexy bloodshed, I say. (I don't really say that. But if I did, it would be awesome!)

After a couple months of trying to get through books, and not really loving any of them...now the last handful have been amazing! And the book that kickstarted it all: Kissed by a Dark Prince!
Another paranormal vampire book, yes but also no. Heaton’s work is well known for their steamy scenes. She has a knack for writing characters with chemistry. And what makes Loren so fun is that he finally finds his mate, after centuries, and he knows he needs to give her up. Since he is a elven prince he is noble and all that. What a conundrum to throw at the hero right away!
Olivia and Loren certainly get their intimate times, but they also get to track down a mad man and race to see if their bond could be broken. The men that serve Loren make some nice secondary characters, as well as Olivia’s best friend. It will be interesting to see where Felicity goes with them. I am picturing a threesome...wait, they would tear each other to pieces.
Overall this was a fresh paranormal romance that proved enjoyable. And Kissed by a Dark Prince being the beginning of a new series, we know Heaton has plenty in store for us.

Loren is a elf prince is looking to stop his brother from causing more death and tragedy. He has been waiting his whole like to meet his eternal mate and she comes to him at a most inopportune time. He's weak from not completing the bond and is with Olivia when she decides to try to find a way to sever the bond so he can save his people and she can work at Archangel. She already got mixed up with a demon once and payed a very high price and she doesn't want to repeat the situation with Loren.
Like I said this is a great story filled with all the things we love in a paranormal romance with a lot of heat. It may just catch your pages on fire. I highly recommend reading this book or another book in Felicity's back list. She is a most read author in my book. I hope you enjoy.

I'm having to do a re-read of this one, not because i loved it so much that i need to read it again but because i decided to read the second book in this series and just in the first few pages it's talking about characters and events that happened in this book and it's been almost 10 yrs since i've read it so i remember nothing! Clearly, this is a series that must be read in order and the books cannot be read as stand alone books because the main couple in book 2 have a history and it started in this book! Oh well, hopefully i'll enjoy it as much as the first time.

I can always rely on Felicity Heaton when I'm looking for a hot paranormal romance with engaging characters and she has outdone herself with Kissed by a Dark Prince. This is the first book in her new Eternal Mates series and I'm already looking forward to getting my hands on the next book. Although this is set in the same world as her Vampire Erotic Theatre series there is currently no crossover of characters (I believe previous characters will make an appearance in the 2nd book Claimed by a Demon King though) so this can easily be read as a stand alone story.
While the VET series focuses mainly on the vampires living in the Vampirerotique theatre and their mates Kissed by a Dark Prince allows us to explore the wider world of the elves, fae and demons. It turns out that the elves are the forefathers of the vampires, the race withdrew from the human world to one of the demon dimensions when some of their members started turning dark, eventually evolving into vampires. Loren is prince of the elves and he has been at war with his brother Vain for centuries doing whatever it takes to protect his people from Vain's evil schemes. He had given up hope of finding his eternal mate but after being badly hurt and left for dead he bites Olivia, needing blood to heal his injuries, and accidentally activates the bond between them. As much as he has longed to find her for centuries he knows that Vain will use his mate against him and he doesn't want to put Olivia in harms way so feels his only option is to find a way to break their bond.
I loved Loren, he's everything you want from a hero - strong, commanding and sexy he is an alpha male who knows what he wants but thankfully he doesn't have to behave like an ass to get it. He well respected by his people and protective of them and of Olivia. One of the things I really liked about him was how he tries so hard to do right by Olivia, he goes out of his way to make sure she is comfortable and puts himself in danger so that she can remain in familiar surroundings where she feels safe. Even when he starts to develop feelings for her and wants them to complete their bond he never pressures her because he wants her to make the decision freely. That doesn't mean he won't use all the skills he has at his disposal to show her how good it could be between them though! Olivia is another character I found easy to like, she is a scientist so has a natural curiosity about Loren and the elves which makes her want to learn more about them and the dimension they have made home. I was pleased to see her making sensible choices and that she was willing to own up to her mistakes rather than automatically blaming everything on Loren.
Alongside the main couple we have been introduced to some interesting side characters that I'm looking forward to getting to know better. I have a feeling Oliva's friend Sable might be the heroine of book 2 and that things are about to get very interesting for her. She works for the demon-hunting organisation Archangel but her role is much more hands on than Olivia research background so it'll be interesting to get to see another side to them too. I loved Loren's second in command Bleu so hope we'll get to see more of him as the series continues and there is one particular male that I'm already dying to get to know better but I can't tell you his name without giving a spoiler. Kissed by a Dark Prince is a fantastic start to this new series and Claimed by a Demon King is already at the top of my wish list even though there is currently no release date and we don't even have confirmation of who the main couple will be!
I can always rely on Felicity Heaton when I'm looking for a hot paranormal romance with engaging characters and she has outdone herself with Kissed by a Dark Prince. His Beautiful Ki’ara. His Sweet Olivia. His Eternal Mate
I’m a huge fan of Felicity Heaton’s Her Angel Romance Series, so when I saw she was doing another series “Eternal Mates Romance Series” I so jumped on the band wagon. The first book of the series is “Kissed by A Dark Prince” and OMG from the first chapter you are thrown into a world of Elves, Demons, Vampires, Fae, Shifters, Witches and Demon Hunters. As the story unfolds and begins to explain itself you realize you can’t always judge a book by its cover (pardon the pun). Especially with the twist involving Prince Loren’s Brother Prince Vail.
Olivia is a Doctor with Archangel which is a Demon-Hunting Organization. At one time she had high-level privileges until she was stripped of them for a mistake she made. So she was sent to the London office to study demon and fae species. This was the equivalent of a basement to punish her for her mistake.
Then that fateful night when the hunters found a demon dumped on their front steps. He was badly beaten and unconscious. Olivia could not believe her good fortune. Here was a specimen that might put her back in the organizations good graces. Little did she know this specimen was her Eternal Mate. The demon on her table was not a demon but an elf, in fact the Prince of his species. Olivia was fascinated with him. She had never seen anything like him. When she started to run test and observations the specimen started to regain consciousness and now the fun begins. Let’s just say Prince Loren in a weakened condition and not in full control took Olivia’s blood he needed to heal quickly, and with this action, oh yes this action put the bonding in motion. Prince Loren when he realized what was happening was a little panicked. This could not have happened at a worse time. He was in the middle of a war with his psycho brother. When he drops this bomb on Olivia all hell breaks loose. She wants the bond broken, she does not want to complete it. Loren realizes without either breaking it or completing it he will not be at full strength and will be vulnerable. Olivia sets out to see if she can find a physical way to break the bond she is stuck in with Loren. (spoiler: neither want this bond broken; Olivia just has some major trust issues and other things from her past).
Felicity also knows the importance of good strong supporting characters (just like with Her Angel Romance Series). Sable is Olivia’s best friend with Archangel and she is a kick ass hunter not afraid to stand her ground. I loved this character. Then you have Bleu who is Prince Loren’s right hand man/protector, and protector he is. A big bad hunk of a warrior and a player. Had to throw that in. We are introduced to a shifter Kyter the Bar Owner. Now I have a feeling he’s going to be a player somewhere down the road. The next big character is Thorne a Demon King. Wow as the read progresses there is something going on with Bleu, Sable and the Demon King, and judging by the title of Book #2 Claimed by a Demon King, Bleu loses out. Then again I could be wrong. I loved the ending with Prince Loren and Olivia and their HEA. I have to give this book 5* great job Felicity you did not disappoint.

Great start
Really enjoyed Felicity Heaton's Kissed by a dark Prince , found it very intriguing , the idea that these supernatural creatures all have a ki'ara Loren found his in Olivia, though I was a bit perplexed over his reasons for breaking the bond , they didn't seem to be that valid so i was very pleased he changed his mind and decided to win Olivia for his life mate. She was a teensy bit stubborn in my opinion If had a super buff pointy eared hotty wanted to take me from the mortal realm and make me a princess, WELL LET ME SEE !!!! YES!!!!! No brainer. Will be interesting to see where this is going am very much looking forward to Sable's story.
