She won the 2009 RT Award for erotica. Leigh was born in Ohio and raised in Martin County, Kentucky, US.
Another scorcher in the 'Nauti' series--this one's sure to set off the smoke alarms! Virginal Janey Mackay and uber-alpha Special Forces Major Alex Jansen are one smokin' hot couple, and it doesn't take them long to get down to business. Of course, Alex has had his eye on Janey since she was seventeen, but he was 31, so anything happening between them was out of the question. But she's a 23 year old woman now, and yeah, he's an older man of 37, but she's no longer jail-bait, and this 'thing' between them has been brewing for 6 long years. It's time to take some action now. But she does have a highly protective brother in Natches Mackay to worry about...
Janey's been isolated all her life, even sent away to school in California. Her abusive father and her sicko aunt have always kept her away from people and any potential friends, and even her protective older brother Natches, who often deflected any 'punishment' meant for Janey onto himself, has had trouble getting past their father's manipulative ways. Her crazy father Dayle was involved in some home grown terroristic schemes, trying to sell missles to terrorists for big money. Exposed as a traitor to his country, he was brought down (in the previous 'Nauti' book, Nauti Dreams) by Alex and his DHS (Department of Homeland Security) team. But now Janey's back in her small Kentucky hometown, ready to resume her life and getting to know her older brother and her cousins Rowdy and Dawg, while taking over her father's upscale restaurant. She's determined to make a life for herself, and to do all the things her nutso father and his sister prevented her from doing. And tops on her 'to do' list is hunky Alex Jansen (with his dark gray eyes and those biceps!). Alex is also the brother of Crista, her cousin Dawg's wife, and he's been on her radar since she was a teen, and her feelings for him only intensified when he saved her from her father and her crazy Aunt Nadine's sadistic torture and kidnapping. And by the looks he's been giving her, she knows he wants her too...
So, to make a long story short, the passion between Alex and Janey heats up, with lots of sexy promises about what he's going to 'do to her', and some 'almost there' moments that seem to always get interrupted by someone/something. Alex then finds out that Janey's been getting some threatening notes from someone who has it in for her, and that's when he realizes that he's back in town for more than just a fling with Janey. No way is he going to let something happen to 'his woman'--he's waited too long for her. They eventually do the deed (without any interruptions) and Janey goes from (almost) innocent virgin to sex kitten in a matter of days. Hey, when you have a teacher like Alex...
But there's a couple of flies in the ointment... because of events in his past, Alex doesn't 'do' love, and Janey wants it, she craves it, she needs it, and she won't settle for less--and most importantly, she deserves it. She won't settle for being just an obligation to someone she loves, either. Can she convince this stubborn alpha that what he feels for her is love, and that it won't kill him to admit it?
Also, who is this nut that's after Janey--and why? Why are they taking Dayle's misdeeds out on her? And can they stop this person from hurting Janey and anyone connected to her, or will she have to leave town to protect the people she's grown to love?
Well, anyone familiar with Lora Leigh's books won't be surprised to find out there's lots of bickering (between Alex and Natches, Alex and Janey, Janey and Natches, etc.) and sniping going on in this book, as well as lots of 'glaring'. I swear, L.L.'s characters have some of the meanest, nastiest temperments--someone is always 'pissed off', or 'pissing someone off'. I mean, enough already--can't they just get along?:) But also, being LL, there's lots of hot loving too. Lots. I mean so much so that I started to skim some of the scenes towards the end of the book (I hate doing that, but I was getting a wee bit bored). And some of the things that Alex said to Janey were just a bit dominant, arrogant and bossy ("you're mine", "I'm going to spank you", "I want more"), sometimes I couldn't blame her for being 'pissed' with him! But I suppose he made it up to her with all his wicked love making. Wow, those two really scorched some sheets!
The suspense part was pretty good, although LL doesn't give you many suspects who could be the stalker, so it's kind of a no-brainer to figure out who it could be. What I wanted to know was why?, and she answered that question to my satisfaction. There's quite a few wackos in the little town of Somerset.
Another thing I was confused about--why was there such hatred between Natches and Alex? Was it the whole age difference thing (23 vs. 37)? Was it the fact that Alex was a player and Natches was afraid of Janey being hurt? Or was it Natches just being Natches? Couldn't quite figure it out, but those two kept sniping at each other, and it got annoying. I figured Janey could do a whole lot worse than Alex.
The only other point I'd like to make is why in the world would an innocent Janey stay in a town that obviously unfairly blamed and included her in her father's trangressions. I realized that she wanted to be near her brother, but jeez, someone needed to tell these holier than thou hypocrites off. They blamed her yet patronized her restaurant? Didn't make much sense to me.
Other than that, it was a pretty good book, probably my favorite of the 'Nauti' series so far. I enjoyed seeing Alex fall under Janey's spell, and yes Alex, those confusing feelings that you've never felt before-what-could-it-be? Yeah, that's love. A typical Lora Leigh book--lots of sex that turns into love, and a bit of suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. Fans of the series should love this one--4 1/2 stars.
Warning: This book contains explicit language, explicit sex (including oral and anal), and some light bondage. Not for the faint of heart.
Get out your fire extinguisher! "Nauti Intentions" by Lora Leigh will leave you in a sweat. Her stories feature hard-core Alphas who don't let anything stand in the way of 'taking care' of their women. They aren't mean, they aren't cruel...but they also leave no doubts about who runs the show.
Janey is trying to settle into life back in her hometown and get to know her big brother Natches. She's also trying to recover from the horrible incident that left her nearly dead, her wicked father and demented aunt thankfully dead, and her brother Natches injured. She's also trying to get over her infatuation of several years standing with Maj Alex Jansen, the man who rescued her, protected her, and the star of her increasingly erotic dreams since she was seventeen years old. But things in her hometown apparently aren't as settled as they seem...Janey has a stalker. And with the stalker becoming more and more violent, she'll have to decide whether to run, or stay and fight.
Alex knows he's too old, too experienced, and just too dark for Janey. But no matter how many times he tells himself that, it just doesn't seem to matter. So he's back in town to figure this out for good. And when he finds out about Janey's stalker? Well, let's just say Alex has some unique ways of ensuring Janey's compliance.
Leigh's latest will singe your fingers as you rip through the pages as fast as you can go. Did I figure out who the wacko was fairly early? Why yes I did. Did that affect my enjoyment of this story? Absolutely not. The joy in reading Lora Leigh (at least for me) is the lengths her heroes are willing to go to in order to claim and keep their heroine safe. Their love wouldn't be for everyone, but by God, a woman would know without a doubt how her man felt...once they managed to do something with their mouth that didn't involve sex, orders, or grunting! If graphic descriptions of wild sex offend you...don't read this book. If they turn you on...don't miss it.
I think I agree with a lot of other reviewers that this is probably the best in the series so far. I liked the story overall...the romance, the characters, the story, etc. All in all, a very engaging story.
Series note: Probably best to rest this series in order.
Summary: Janey's Mackay's life has been hell. Growing up with an evil, abusive father, she saw the worst of life. Now, after a big showdown, she's finally free of her father's evil influence and ready to move on with her life. She decides to stay in her hometown and run her family's restaurant so she can be near her brother. And maybe just because Alex Jansen lived there when he was on leave from his special agent job. Ever since she was a teen, she's wanted Alex.
But he's 14 years older than her and has forced himself to stay away. After what she just went through, though, and finding out that Janey is getting threatening notes, Alex is tired of staying away. He's ready to claim Janey as his. Even if her brother, Natches, will castrate him for touching his baby sister. All Alex knows is that Janey sets him on fire and he'll do whatever it takes to protect her from someone who apparently wants her dead.
Review: Of the 4 Nauti books I've read, this one had the most solid romantic aspect for me. Alex is still and Alpha dog like the Mackay cousins, but he wasn't quite so obnoxious and Neanderthal as they were. I just felt the romance between Alex and Janey a bit more.
And yeah, the sex is absolutely smoking hot. Janey being a virgin was maybe a little oversimplified because she goes from a virgin to sex kitten in the blink of an eye, but it wasn't a bit deal.
I liked the Janey became friends with Rogue Walker. Those two seem like they'd be perfect friends after all they've been through. I'm very intrigued by Rogue and can't wait to read her story.
There's a bit of a suspense plot in the book...regarding who is sending Janey threatening notes and possibly wanting her dead. It was not a bad plot, maybe a little too predictable and typical. I thought overall it could have been a stronger story aspect because it seemed under utilized. Most of the plot is just Alex and the Mackay's standing around scratching their heads and beating their chests. There's not real problem solving going on.
Like the other books in this series, there are some issues with detail continuity between books. The one thing that stands out in my mind is this book saying that Janey (and Natches) dad is now dead when at the end of the last book he was still alive after having Natches beat the crap out of him. Big mismatch on details there. There were other little details that didn't match, but that was the biggest one, I think.
On the whole, though, I liked this book and I'm looking forward to reading the most recent one in the series.
WARNING, this book contains: explicit sex and language, oral sex, anal sex, light dominance...mostly just basic stuff.
This book was sexy hot! It burned my finger-tips! Alex and Janey definitely had some steam between them. They had quite the sex life. However, it wasn't just all sex in this book (though at times it seemed like it). There was a pretty decent plot to this one as well. I felt in the first book, Nauti Boy, that the suspense, was contrived and didn't fit with the story. This one didn't feel that way. It was a much better story.
At first I thought the villian was pretty easy to figure out but I was wrong so I liked that I wasn't able to figure out the bad guy.
This had a great love story and a very hot couple. If you can make it past the first two books, book numbers 3 and 4 are worth reading.
I wanted to like this book as I have all the others in the series, but this book stunk. I ended up skimming a majority of the book. First of all I have no problem with a big age difference. I believe true love finds you no matter what your age. Janey is 23 and Alex is 38. However the way Alex and her ENTIRE FAMILY treats her AND the way she herself acts, you would think she was 17. Janey is immature, has no self esteem and thinks of every male in her family as a "protector". Even still calling herself Janey instead of Jane is childish. Alex also treats her as a child but at least with respect. However when Janey is acting like a baby and Alex calls her "baby" as a term of endearment, it only makes me want to gag because its just creepy. Alex also has a bad habit of picking her up and carrying her everywhere. Janey can walk just fine but Alex "would rather carry her". Um...what century are we in folks? There's also a scene in the book that has surpassed every other scene I've ever read EVER for being disgusting. I won't spell it out here but if you're dying to know, email me. Waste of money and my time reading this.
Lora Leigh's alpha males are definately my guilty pleasure!
Now this is my favourite of the series. As always i love when we get to the sister story and Janey is amazing. She is so strong and independent. But has always lived with her fathers issues and what people have perceived her to be because of his actions. Now, Major Alex Jansen, ooohhhhh i love him. He is the towns hero, in all areas. Everyone loves him. After Alex helped to save Janey, then disappeared back to war, he is back, and tries to look out for her. After threats made against her he moves in to protect her and catch who it is. of course, the passion heats up, the bickering, keeping it all secret. Family dramas. Janey loves him, Alex doesn't "do love". He's seen it rip apart people and won't let that happen. Janey needs "love" as shes never had it and shouldn't settle for anything less. Together these 2 are one smoking hot couple. They have their issues, age differences, always wanted one another and the bickering. I loved the suspense in this, the hot sex, we still get updates and rest of the MacKay family in here too. And gain, HOT!!! Alex Jansen you can come get me anytime!
My god, the sex in this book...just wow!!! I'm not sure whether I agree with the age difference, but it was such a great read that I forgot about it! I adore this series, and can't wait to read the next one!
For the most part, I enjoyed this erotic-romantic suspense that is a continuation in the "Nauti series" (#4). It includes the characters from the earlier books and their wives, but in minor rolls--except for Natches. He plays a fairly large roll in this one and, unfortunately, his character got on my nerves. He was constantly arguing with his sister over her life and the restaurant. Constantly.
The two main h/h (Alex and Janey) were neat to follow. They had the hots for each other for 6 years, but Janey was 17 and Alex (Special Forces) was 14 years older, so he stayed away. The setting takes place in Somerset, Kentucky where, apparently, it's a hotbed of Homeland Security events.
A stalker is threatening Janey and it escalates into attempted murder. Alex moves in with her to "protect" her. There was a lot of arguing and threats from Natches to Alex about not touching his sister, etc. And that got old.
For me, the intimate moments got a bit old toward the end. Too long--toward the end. The suspense was good. I didn't have "it" figured out. Looks like some characters were set-up for the next book or at least a future book in this series.
Nauti Intentions started out good, but ended up falling flat for me. I felt that Alex and Janey were a bit underdeveloped. I thought their attraction to each other was genuine, but it didn't go past lust for me. Janey was looking for love because she had to hide any emotions she felt from her father or he would use it against her. Alex was a hard man who didn't believe in love. Honestly, I felt that Janey was willing to settle and deserved better. Alex wasn't a bad man by any means, but he was just too hard for her. Their HEA didn't ring true for me and all the sappiness at the end had me rolling my eyes. The mystery concerning who was stalking Janey wasn't much of a surprise, nor did the reasoning make much sense. I felt this was the weakest book in the Nauti series.
Holy smoking smexxy red hot spontaneous combusting Kindle melting... Wow! Best book yet in the series. I started it at 10pm and finished it this morning. Oops! not much sleep! It was that good.
There are enough reviews on here to get the gist of the story. Leigh got the chemistry down on this pair. Alex and Janie burn up the pages during this erotic romantic thriller. Look forward to lots of sex. Graphic. A variety of variations, in different places, including up against the wall.
I almost didn't read this series but am so glad I discovered it on my public library digital checkout system. Looking forward to starting book 5.
This book sucked. The general plotline was okay and the mystery had promise but overall the book was just bad. Mainly it was the sex scenes( which were the literary equivalent of bad pizza boy delivery porn) but it was also the way the male characters treated the female protagonist. She was a 24 year-old woman and they treated her like she was 12. The entire male cast was full of sexist pigs set on controlling and dominating the main character like she was a toy. The male protagonist made fun of her feelings and called her a child having a tantrum when she talked about wanting more than sex in a relationship. The woman who wrote this book obviously does not have a very high opinion of her own sex.
This book is amazing.. The lead female is beautifully damaged. By that I mean she is damaged and doesn't complain about it. All the stuff she endured has made her stronger. The lead male is delicious. So strong and dominating and if you enjoy dirty talk this will become an all time favorite. All their imperfections are perfect. Loved the plot and all the side characters.
"You own me". Three little words no woman should want to hear or say! This is the worst one yet for more reasons than I can list. The names change, barely, but the (stupid) plot remains the same. Thank God I'm on the last book in the bundle or I'd quit now...Barnes & Noble I'd like a refund.
I think this is the best "Nauti" book yet. I really like Alex. He is a hard-boiled soldier but with a tender heart when it comes to his friends and Janey (his friends little sister). Alex is 14 years older than Janey but she's wanted him since she was 17 and believe me the feeling was mutual except he felt like a pervert because of the age difference. But now that she's 23, all bets are off. The scorching hot sex scenes actually made me blush. WOW.
This one has a great storyline as well as the steamy sex. Janey's father was selling missiles to terrorists and there was some kind of incestuous relationship going on between the father and his sister. He was shot and killed in the first chapter after kidnapping Janey (his daughter) and torturing her. A few months later, some nutcase in town starts terrorizing Janey because he thought she was involved in the incest thing and she was corrupting Alex (the patriot).
This book featured all the gang from the other Nauti books - Natches, Dawg and Rowdy as well as their wives.
This book was much better than Nauti Boy(Nauti, #1)! Esp no sharing women with others. (The reason of Rowdy and his cousins' sharing women was beyond me)
As I reread some of Lora Leigh's three series so far, heroes in Nauti series were also all alpha males, but they were ruder and more stubborn than heroes in Elite Ops series and Tempting SEALs series.
I still liked this book, but something bothered me: was it really because Alex was 14 years older than Janey, his viewpoint toward love was so different from hers? He was able to love his little sister, then why did he have to ask Janey to teach him how to love? He was willing to commit to her, have baby with her, sacrifice his life for her, but don't know how to love her?
Recommend to anyone love romance with older stubborn alpha-male hero, strong-willed heroine with traumatic past, and many hot love scenes.
these are defintely getting better with each book. as i've said before, 'this was my favorite of the series'. i've still got one left and i think it's rogue and zeke.
i've always liked alex this whole series and was anxious to see who he would get paired up with. i loved janey. i think her relationship with natches was almost as important to me as her relationship with alex.
how many crazy people can be from one county though? seriously! oh well, i love it. i hope more crazy people crawl out from under rocks so i keep getting more books!!
Read out of order, but don't think this would have made a differnce. Didn't really care for Alex very much. It was disturbing that a man in his late 30's was lusting after a 23 year old woman for 6 or 7 years. Kind of creepy. He seemed to use Janey, a woman with very little experience with men as a toy and he really seemed to manhandle her. Nope, didn't care for this.
Very good continuation of the Nauti series. Janey is Natches younger sister. He is very protective. So when one of his team shows more than just casual interest, he is very upset. But Alex has been wanting Janey since she was 17 years old - now she is 23 years old and a woman with her own mind.
I really liked this one. Alex is my new fantasy love. I couldn't get over how hot the "parking" scene was and how gentle yet full of fire their first time together was.
Alex Jansen and Janey Mackay's story. Alex is a Major, Crista's brother and fourteen years older than Janey. Janey is Natches' sister, restaurtant owner and being stalked by a dangerous person.
Ha ha ha, why are books not pleasing anymore. Didn’t really like this book. I mean… it’s hot ngl, but then it got so repetitive. Then it got so anti climatic. Yea… I was expecting something good. But all I got was just a minute of action and then boom. Nothing. Then I got a random character dying for no reason. It was just so messy. I can’t even get a real sentence out cause I was expecting too much from this book. I mean, I feel like the actual climax was when the bomb was thrown in her house. Way more interesting than this petty drama.
Bro the antagonist was unexpected. The bad unexpected, not the one like a nice character turned mean. It’s literally a mom who has mental issues and for some reason she knows how to make bombs. I don’t even know if she appeared in the book at all before she did her stuff. Then the son wasn’t even surprised she holds a gun and wanted to kill h. Bro his manager is at gunpoint and his mom is crazy. Wtf. Secondary Characters were so bad, like bad bad. Although I did like the Naches overprotectiveness and his hated for Alex
There literally wasn’t a summary but perhaps I would rate this 2.5-2 in the future
Since he saw Janey Mackay taking a dip in her bikini, Major Alex Jansen has had to quell the fire she ignites in him. Even touching her would mean death at the hands of the Mackay men. Until now, the girl of his dreams-and fantasies-has lived in a vacuum of affection, shying away from the danger she thinks men represent. Heather's Notes Oh Janey got on my ever loving nerves. Talk, just talk to him. He is telling you he loves you, just not using love. How do you not see that?! She annoyed me so bad. I wanted to grab Alex and tell him it was ok. I was going to bang Janey on the head until she figured it out. The plot was good and the "villian" unusual. I liked the rest of the story.
Buena historia.
Well, who knew that Natches had a baby sister? And that Alex Jansen has had his eye on her for a long time? I love the unrequited elements of this book. Poor Janey loves Alex, who is busy trying to avoid her until the time comes when he can't and that's when the story takes off. It's not a Nauti series book unless someone is in danger and well, Somerset seems like it is having issues with it's criminal element because this town is dangerous! Pick up this story and find out how Alex, Janey, the Mackay cousins and even Timothy Cranston come together to save one of their own.
So far this is my favorite book in the series! This series is an erotic romance with suspense. I love Janey and I love Alex! Janey's family is a bit too alpha and over the top, but these two were my favorite couple. Their chemistry is super hot and their banter with each other was great and both of them just fit together. This is an older man and younger woman storyline but I enjoy reading those so it doesn't bother me at all. Again, you should read this series in order so everyone makes sense to you when you're reading.
Janey has loved Alex since she was seventeen but he is 14 years older than her. After he helps save her from her abusive father and aunt, most of the family and Alex treat her with kid gloves. The hometown people think she helped her father instead of being a victim. Someone has started sending threatening notes. Alex moves in to protect her. But who will protect him. Read and see how it turns out.
