I personally really enjoyed Shifters in the "Urban fantasy" category, where you aren't going to have all the sex all the time, and the story develops around one person.
Jane Jamison is the other series out of those I enjoyed, but that was more on a really lighthearted/goofy style funny PNR level - not as 'sexy,' more funny.

I would suggest the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong. I just love this series, I'm currently reading the last book and loving it. One of the things I love most about this series is the characters, they are great :). It takes a bit of time to get used to the narrator change in the third book but the series is definitely worth reading.
Hope this helps :).

Then I'm going to try that Hexed series people keep talking about. I usually don't read UF or PNR written by men, but I will give it a shot.

Oh, I agree with the Shifters recommendation! One of my favorite UF series.

I'm really interested in Wake. It looks like it could be really good/unique.

Yup Yup Yup!!! My Favorite series of ALL TIME! I literally wait on needles and pins for the next installment of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. Love all of the books in this series. But I will say that for me A Hunger Like No Other (Emma's book) & No Rest For The Wicked (Kaderin's book) are my absolute favorites but I have loved them ALL. They're witty, intelligently written, have a plot, kickass heroines ALWAYS, and hot hot men. They have all species of paranormals, loads of action, awesome romance, and interesting storyline. Do I sound bias?? LOL!! Maybe just a little :D

Well, I found the dialogue of the heroine so overwhelming that the hero and other characters faded to the back for me. I enjoyed the parts when we were inside her head and don't get me wrong, she was funny and witty but the writing took center stage in front of the book.

Okay I must check out the shifter series this week!!

I will move this series towards the top. Thanks!

I think I may start the shifter series tomorrow and follow it with the Women of the otherworld right after. Ughhh!!! Too many options!! I spend more time deciding what to read rather than actually reading:/

Jordan have you read the Vampires in America Series? I describe it as The Godfather with vampires but without the crime....

The D.B. Reynolds is about to release a new Novella about Raphael and Cyn in August, Lucas's book comes out in October and then she is contracted to write two more. The author has hinted that she and her publisher have discussed continuing the series since the fans rave about it and love the series so much.

Me love some Raphael and all of his hotness. LOL
I finished the Scanguard Vampire series and Zane's book was the best. Really, really good. It even reminded me of a lot lighter Zsadist and that's saying something.
