One of the series that was like that for me was the Argeneau books. I've heard people say they didn't like the first so didn't continue but I love that series. Admittedly, the 1st wasn't the best.

Jenne, I understand how you felt about book one. I really enjoyed it but found that book one and two are very different.
In fact I was pleasantly surprised at how much better Book 2 was than book 1. But I came near to tears in book three at the river. I had my hand over my open mouth and could not blink I as so moved by that scene.
The author says she is writing the fourth book "The Fall of Water" - And then some spin offs for some of the characters which will include G&B.
This is one of the best series I have read.

What a great month for new books!!"
oh BJS I am trying to decide right now which of these to start!
Finished
and I'm still reading
and I love it, it's taking me a while to finish cuz I don't want it to end and it's such a tiny book.
Ok so I finished
last night. I loved it. I have enjoyed the entire series. However, is it just me or has she drug out the Rachel / Trent thing way too long? Rachel and Trent would be a kick butt couple; with the dynamics she has brought to the series the possibilities are endless, right?
Finished reading
didn't love it was just okay. Now reading
so excited to finally read this series! Have had it forever and hadn't gotten around to reading it until now.

Although, it was really only in Pale Demon that Trent finally started to grow on me and I saw the real potential between him and Rachel. I kind of figured for a while that she might be headed in that direction, but I just never quite "got" Trent until towards the end of Pale Demon. Maybe I'm just slow? I can't wait to see what she does next with this series.
Just finished
& really liked it. I'm surprised you haven't read it yet PA & Devan - usually I'm after you guys. I will start
next

OMG, you have Dying Wish and Oracle's Moon already? lucky you. You can't go wrong with either of those, sigh....
Finished
. Quite entertaining and found it fulfilling for this trilogy. Thought I take a break from highlander until I found
and was giggling from the very first page, what a hoot!
Christine wrote: "Shawn wrote: "Ok so I finished

I loved Kisten and I was sad that they ended so soon, but I have always been waiting on Trent. I'm hoping she will get to it soon, though I have enjoyed Rachels growth, I'm ready for her to have a grown up relationship.

I really like Lyndsay Sands, but for some reason I wasn't drawn to her historical stuff. So it was pretty good ? I may have to pick them up.

I know I'm saving dying wish for weekend, I can still only get Shannon K Butchers on paperback in UK not kindle.
I love the kindle now I have it, but now reading a paperback seems barbaric lol kindle is soo much easier reading in bed lol
Nichola wrote: "Today ive started
so hopefully be able to get stuck in as its my day for chilling out."I actually really liked this book. I know the second has been out for months in Australia but I have been reading other series & have yet to buy it
I was at the library and came across an audiobook called
. It totally hooked me. I could not stop listening to it. It is number two of the Travis series. It was raw, passionate, funny, and romantic. It is a contemporary Texas love story. All three books have great reviews. The first book is called Sugar Daddy but I read the second book first and I was fine.

LOL, I'm just the opposite. I've just discovered her via HR, straight forward romance with no kick-ass paranormal ability, yet I'm drawn to her characters, simple plots and just loved the chemistry presented. Given that's it's HR and not PNR, it's not bad...though I can't wait to venture her PNR too.

Vampiress wrote: "I'm reading Hush Hush, and I'm a bit disappointed with it!"Yeah, I didnt like that one and had bought the second book at the same time and have decided not to read it. I felt like the story had been done and in a much more mature way, even for a YA book.
I'm starting my weekend reading with
I dont know if I'm the only person, but I think I like A & O better then the Mercy series. Dont get me wrong though, I like Mercy series too.

It is pretty raw and erotic also but it really sucks you in. I would read something else and then maybe come back. When I read Fifty Shades I had to take a break after the second. It can really wear on your emotions.

I love Lynsay Sands but I have not read her Highlander books. I have read all of her PNR. Have you read those? They are really cute. They are on the line with Kerelyn Sparks.

They're good books, funny, exciting, and a good twist on vampires.
I just "discovered" Karen Marie Moning. Finished Darkfever. Working on Bloodfever. She's a good writer.

It's true and there's been a lot of series that I'm glad I read the second one because I end up loving them. If I only gave the series a chance based on the first book I'd had missed out on a lot of good series.
