Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy discussion

What are you reading right now?

I'm going to have to give this one a try. Usually, when everyone raves about a book, that's when I don't like it. Since this one gets such mixed reviews, and I actually love science, it may just be a winner for me.

I tend to prefer Urban Fantasy. I've just never been able to get into most Paranormal Romance. The romance aspect usually comes across a bit forced and I don't care for switching to whole new couples through the series. But this series follows the same couple and I've heard very good things. So far so good.

DO you like the book? I didn't think it was racy enough.

Glad someone else picked it up. It's really interesting, huh? Great book.

It does seems that she has trouble formulating new plots.

Just picked up Black Dagger. Love it! Almost done with the first book.

Like I said, I'm a bit picky when it comes to PNR but I do like to keep giving them a try and hoping I stumble upon some good ones for my tastes. I DO completely get why others love them so. I'm just quirky lol.

It does get better ! It really is a good book and the last..."
I personally really liked this book and am anxiously awaiting the book 2 due to come out in July. It is a bit slow for the first part of the book but I liked the all of the background and history and character development and scenic layering, felt it gave it depth and richness. It's a pretty lengthy book but I enjoyed it and it's become a well loved book of mine.

I love Kenyon's Darkhunter series(early years). Keep reading. I kind of stoppped reading her DH books after Retribution. Acheron's book is very good. It is Kenyon at her very best.

Oh no...not one of those! LOL I just finished..."

Katya - If you liked Dimitri, then try Archangel's blood. To me that was the best of the series so far. He's a vamp, not an angel or a demon. Bet you'll like it.

I like the Fallen Angels series. You also get a little bit of crossover on the characters as well. BDB is way better though.

Next, back to one of my favorite ER authors, Lauren Dane with

I loved this book. The science and wine talk drove me nuts too but the characters were so good I could over look it. I ended up giving it 5 stars.
