Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments Yeah, it sucks and rocks at the same time.

I've started naming my TBR pile "The Never Ending TBR pile"!

Amen to that! I've only been on GR for a few months but I wish I discovered it years ago. I've found so many new authors I love because of all the wonderful recommendations.

I second that notion... all the times I was just aimlessly walking down the library rows, pulling out books and reading the jackets... hoping I'd stumble onto some "gem".... actually that is how I found Cassandra Palmer's series, the Dresden Files, October Daye series, and the Iron Druid series...

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments I used to haunt Amazon looking for books.

So glad I found it in 2010!! Would have passed up on a lot of great books if I hadn't found goodreads.

I think it's because on FB people are talking about things I don't care about, about 50% of the time. On Goodreads however, I'm interested 100% of the time because it's more tailored. Plus I have an addiction to books >.< my family and friends pick on me a lot because I'm a bit neurotic about it. lol =)

I've been a member since June or May of this year. I know what you mean about the TBR piles mine are huge now! I used to worry about finishing a series I loved because I didn't know what I would read next. Now I don't have enough time to start all the new ones that I want to. Don't feel bad Vanessa, my family makes fun of me for it too!

yeah, but you have to be a reader to enjoy it. I know a lot of people who don't read very often so they probably wouldn't like it like we do.

Christine | 1127 comments P.A. wrote: "yeah, but you have to be a reader to enjoy it. I know a lot of people who don't read very often so they probably wouldn't like it like we do. "

I think that's what makes it so great. Instead of a bunch of people with a variety of interests in everything, you have a group with a single common goal: reading good books. And you can then narrow that down to find subgroups like this one that focus on your genre of choice. It's a reader's nirvana!

I know. None of my friends read Paranormal so I'm always getting recommendations from them for books like "my Sisters Keeper" and other popular novels that aren't genres that I enjoy. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who likes to read about vampires.

I got the name wrong, it's Weather Warden by Rachel Caine who writes the Glass Houses, the Weather Wardens I think was her first series about people who can control the weather. It has never been released in Australia so I ordered in the first two books to see if I like them. A lady on here told me it's not YA but is still really good so I am up for the challenge but I have a feeling I'll be getting all the Night Huntress books first. I do however highly recommend Rachel Caine's new adult series Working Stiff the series itself is called "The Revivalist's" I was so shocked, every time I though I knew where the twist's & turn's were going they went anoth direction, I LOVE this new series btw I think I will add you to my friend's so I can see what are the good books everyone is reading :)

Beth, wat to go!!! Try Rachel Caine's new adult series The Revivalist's, first book is called "Working Stiff" I LOVED it, it goes in all kind of directions & I usually picked the wrong one it was that good. Not as predictable as most which made me love it more. Morganville is great, I'm looking forward to "Last Breath" & I have the first two in the Weather Wardens, it was never released here in Australia so they'll be filling in my time until all my other series are due out. There is only one in Morganville I never really got into but I kept reading as it only got better. I was lucky enough earlier in the year to win a contest & have afternoon tea with Rachel Craine with a few other winners, she is lovely & was talking about the Adult series I mentioned above
