Davina D. | 796 comments I'm reading two books at the moment, something I rarely do, but I love books set in the Nazi/WWII era so I started Pam Jenoff's The Kommandante's Girl. Probably won't be a keeper but I like it so far. The other book is Laura Kinsale's Lessons in French.

From what I've read so far, I can tell it'll be a good book. But, while I was reading it, I decided not to skip around in the series after all, and start from book 1, so as not to spoil anything for myself. Of course I ran right out to the ubs, and they don't have the books that I need right now. I do have the first 1 or 2, but I've put in on hold. So, I'm reading Lover Eternal instead.

Oh no problem. Read the books in order.

I'll let you know later. I have only read page one so far. I will be reading on my break.

I will be making comments under the book.

I read her book, "Black Ice". It was crazy and good. I like assassin stories. I always find it interesting how well an author can make it possible for a cold-blooded killer to somehow be made human enough to fall in love.

Danielle is a big Anne Stuart fan and she would always talk about the series. I know she has a story with a black woman and white man. I don't know the name of the book.

I've been wanting to check one of her books out and was glad when I was able to find a book of hers at a booksale.

I agree Loni, I like when an author can take a bad guy and make him human. She makes him lovable.

Yolonda | 406 comments I didn't know that she had a bw/wm book. I knew about the ww/am one called "Ice Blue". I may go to the used book store to see if they have some more of her stories.

I hope I have said it right about Anne writing a story about a bw/wm.

I could be thinking about another author that Danielle reads.

Loni, please wait until Danielle verify this, before you go buy a book.

My bad.

It has to be another author, I'm thinking about. A paranormal story.

Reno is truly a bad boy. Anne Stuart has my attention with Fire and Ice. I'm loving her tension.

Good tension will always catch my attention. That's why I love reading it and writing it.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't say that I have read a lot of new books, considering I don't go the paperback/ hard copy route any more. I read on my Blackberry as much as possible the ebooks that I download. I just finished "Dante's Wrath" by Eve Vaughn, finally completing the Blood Brother's series. That was a native w/wm with shifters/vampires and the sort. I was very satisfied with the way the series finished. I am re-reading a few of my favorites just because being an accountant, this is the busiest time of year for me, and I don't want to get engrossed in a new book until I can devote my time to it. I re-read the 'Watermelon Riot' just because it is a casual laid back read, but there was quite some depth to the characters. Also I am re-reading the 'Lord and the Scorpion' because it is a historical piece that combines my ultimate favorite genres of ir romance and Victorian/Regency.

I'm now reading Dmitry's Closet and LOVING IT. It reminds me of a certain member's excellent story (*cough* Danielle*cough*) which I will probably be re-reading after this. Dmitry isn't quite Anne Stuart territory but it's on the road there! I hate having to put it down to do stuff lol.

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Hello, ladies.
I haven't read a single IR this year. Currently, I am reading a paranormal erotic romance called Riding the Storm by Sydney Croft. I think it's pretty good. Plus, the hero is Cajun and I loves me some Cajun boys.

Oh no, it will not be my cup of tea. You had said that the hero was Cajun. I just thought he was from New Orleans. Most authors, when they write about a Cajun hero, he's from New Orleans.
