Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Jennifer & D.G. Hummm, nice and inexpensive Kindle reads. (Must resist clicking the button) I need to actually BUY a Kindle. So far I only read them on my computer. *sigh* I'm in the mood to read in bed...so I need to go to the store.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Melanie, and of course, Autumn, Katherine, or anybody else! I'd loved to do a buddy read. When and how do we do it? I've never done one before, though I have one planned with someone in the future. Do we read a certain number of chapters a night? Do we answer certain bookclub questions? Do we have a special thread posted where we discuss the book? What? Educate me. I'm willing.

message 3309: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments Lisa Kay - Lol, I actually have no idea how to do a buddy read (this will be my first)! I think we should all make sure we have the book, give ourselves a starting date, and see how long it takes the slowest reader to read a MMP. Then maybe we can split it into two or three parts? As for the thread... no idea:-) I guess we could, but I don't know how big of a discussion we can have about it (a couple posts each, I'd imagine)!

message 3312: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Melanie, Oh! I thought it was some kind of minutes per...knowing how fast you read. LOL! Anyway, I was peeking around and found treads posted under WLLK Buddy Reads; we can add a post there too!

message 3313: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments Lol, Lisa Kay - Perfect! do you want me to set up a thread, or do you want to do it, since you know where to go?:-D And let's maybe start reading in a day or two, that way everyone who wants to can join in?

message 3314: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Melanie, Okay. I'll set up the thread. I would like to get this book in paperback instead of Kindle. I read more in my bed than at my computer. When here I get distracted by GR. LOL! Let me see if I can find it at the bookstore (I've been dying for an excuse to go - hee hee.)

The thread says to set a date to start...but I'll leave it open for now. See what happens. If worse comes to worse, I'll just purchase it on Kindle so we can start soon.

I have to say, I'm really enjoying Sweet Release and I just learned it was Pamela Clare's debut novel. Wow... I seriously would have never pegged it as anyone's debut novel.

I read SW recently too- I thought it was outstanding for a debut novel (probably THE book she had wanted to write for ages!). It was a 5* for me. My heart rate was right up for the last 2-300 pages - it was all very dramatic.

message 3330: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I finished this morning A Prisoner of Birth. It was FANTASTIC and the ending was so perfect that tears rolled down my cheeks. Listening the audiobook made the experience even better.

Now I'm listening The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. So far so good.

Reading wise, I'm still reading Charmed, I'm Sure. It's good for laughs but the H/h are both very unappealing. The hero is a cheater with no balls and the heroine is a looney. I really don't know how am I to believe these two people will get together and be happy. It has some funny parts though...that's why I'm still reading it.

Across a Moonlit Sea (Dante Pirates, #1) by Marsha Canham

D.G. Marsha Canham is going to join our "buddy read" discussion of Across a Moonlit Sea at some point. Do you want to be kept advised?

A couple of people who are reading the second book, The Iron Rose (Dante Pirates, #2) by Marsha Canham , are going to pop in.

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments Lol, Lisa Kay, I'm pretty proud of our buddy read, gotta say:-D

Dhes - I'm so glad you liked Sweet Release since I just received the trilogy from BWB!! I'll read that next!

I'm finishing up Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally .. It took me longer than expected: I somehow expected it to be a novel, but it was actually a biography, with lots of names and dates.. Very good book, but add the fact that my sister was in town this weekend, and it took me three days to read! **shocked gasp**

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Melanie, I'm pretty proud of our little Across a Moonlit Sea (Dante Pirates, #1) by Marsha Canham Buddy Read also! I might even pop a few buttons. But, my head shrinks down to normal size when I realize I haven't come up with one question to ask Ms. Canham! LOL! For anyone interested, here is the link to the W♥LK thread: AAMS Buddy Read.

I am currently reading Highlander Ever After (Nvengaria, #3) by Jennifer Ashley . It's not even on any of my challenges (yet), as I was stuck somewhere and grabed it to read. So far, I'm enjoying it, though I just started Chapter 3.

No need to apologize, Dhes. I haven't been able to keep up with my GR groups and just now saw your question anyway.:-)

I think I already mentioned in another thread how awesome it was, my new favorite erotic romance. I should have my review for it posted sometime this week.

Originally, I wasn't a fan of Amun (liked him, but found him a little uninteresting, honestly), but wow! Such a great hero, and such a great couple! I loved that they fell for each other simultaneously! 5*
