Yeah I can't wait to read that one! I should read it as one of the challenges for April/May but I don't want to wait! We'll see...

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Which one are you remembering Cynthia, Passion? I seem to recall that you read that one.

Carolyn F. I finished Dates From Hell, overall the stories were pretty good. I just started The Protector.

I found this one at a UBS for 50cents and I want to read it, but I'm worried because it's out of order I'll be lost. Do you know if it must be read in order?

message 507: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I just saw that when I listed what I was reading that it was book #5 but it doesn't read like a series book, more like a stand alone. It's good so far, but I've only just started it.

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Ok, so I'm enjoying Lord Ian, I'm only on page 70 though. Let me just say I have done a double-take at several things Ian has said- he is rather blunt just says whatever he's thinking huh? I'm looking forward to spending more time with him later!

message 514: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, it's part of his 'madness' which seems to be a form of autism. As the story goes on, it makes me love him all the more.

message 516: by [deleted user] (new)

ME TOO Dhestiny...he is so direct! Love it!

message 517: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments I'm finishing up Behind Closed Doors and really loving it. Its very hot..lots of action...Seth is very much the Alpha male. Its been fun watching him fall.... When I start nearing the end of a book I always start relishing the search for the next one to read through my tbr pile, but Shannon McKenna really did a good job of setting up the next book in the series so now I'm really eager to read it!

PS: I just bought 6 more books yesterday!!!!

message 518: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished The Protector and ended up liking it. I think this is the first Madeline Hunter book I've read. I'm now reading My Immortal.

I haven't read this one but after hearing you all it may get added to my TBR. I like it when authors deal with some issue or illness and then put information about it in the Author's Note. LK's Blue Eyed Devil is an example. I'm thinking based on your comments that this author doesn't have anything like that.

I tried to shorten the book title but it just came out wrong "LK did this in BED" so I reworked the sentence.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Robin wrote: ""LK did this in BED".."

ROFL!!!

I adore Ian, as I've said over and over. His is a great story and it was so well written that the foundation for the next books (his brothers' stories) is already layed. I love all the Mackenzies.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Robin, this is my review of The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie. It's long, but there are very few plot spoilers... I talk more about the many little things that make Ian, Ian.

Don't feel like you have to read it, it's just there for you if you're interested.

message 522: by Hollie (new)

Hollie | 6 comments I'm reading North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. I find it a harder read than normal because of the time period it was written, but I just love it. I have to take breaks from it and read books that have more sex every once in a while though. I had to read it after seeing the mini series and developing an obsession with Richard Armitage.

I understand what you are saying about it being harder to read. I've not read that particular book but I am making my way through Jane Austen's novels and they can be difficult to read. And in her books there are no kisses or even embraces so it can be kind of a let down, especially right after the h/h profess their love to one another and there is no physical reaction!

That is why I love the movies. Even if they don't kiss you can see the body language. P&P with Keira Knightley oh my. The rain scene when Mr. Darcy professes his love.

message 526: by Robin (new)

Robin | 361 comments Movies where the stuff beyond the kiss is implied you know and they kissed ... fade to black and you either see them going to sleep or waking in each other arms are great but when it comes to massive amounts of detail I'd much rather read it then watch, I love to read it. :)

message 527: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments I agree Robin. I'd rather read about it than watch it.

message 528: by [deleted user] (new)

yep, what you all said, read it rather than watch.

message 549: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Me too Danielle! It seems whenever I finally get around to buying books that I have wanted to read something else comes along that I want to read too, and then there are the series that keep producing new books (ahem, Hathaway series!)....

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm reading and loving Undone by Susan Johnson . It's an anthology with 3 stories, each about 100 pages. I love Mary Wine's Highlanders and her story in this book is good. I also loved Susan Johnson's contribution which had me smiling a LOT. I'm reading Terri Brisbin's story now. It seems to be taking on a slightly.. fantasy.. flavor. I haven't figured that one out yet, but I just started.
