I have not read the Hathaways. I do believe I owe them all, so it will happen some day! lol

I am Christiana and I love historical romances. Lisa Kleypas is somewhat new to me as I started with Cold Hearted Rake and have only read 2 other of her works to date (Dreaming of you & Seduce Me at Sunrise)... I had heard of her writing but was intimidated by the ginormous backlist and how many books were in each series, but I'm challenging myself to read/listen as many of her books in the new year.
I loved Kev Merripen in SMaS and was astonished at the number of beefcake images that appeared when I googled his name!

Ditto!

1. Name: ola.
2. What are your favorite Lisa Kleypas books: if i had to answer that question at gunpoint, you still couldn't make me choose. i love all my children equally.
3. Who's your favorite Lisa Kleypas hero and heroine? Couple: right now, simon and annabelle immediately come to mind. i do love sebastian/evie, derek/sara, joe/avery, zoe/alex, lara/hunter... but something about simon and annabelle has always stood out to me the most. they're somewhat underrated too, aren't they? :( i love all of lisa's couples though and find something special and unique in each relationship. which is the beauty of lisa kleypas' books. and admittedly, i still have some lisa kleypas books i haven't read yet, so give me time.
4. What do you like about Lisa Kleypas books: lisa kleypas has a certain power over me. no one comes close to her level, they just don't. i read her books just when i began my reading obsession around the age of 15, so she has a permanent place in my childhood memories and has shaped much of my own ideas on romance. her writing style is so poignant and elegant and makes me want to get inside her damn brain so i can look further into her world. i respect many of the personal ideals and values she expresses in her books and makes me believe she's a beautiful person inside and out. ugh i just love her.

2. My favorite Lisa Kleypas books are Dreaming of You, Secrets of a Summer Night, Devil in Winter, Again the Magic, Seduce Me at Sunrise, and Suddenly You. I absolutely love almost all the books by Lisa Kleypas.
3. My favorite Lisa Kleypas couple is Kev and Winnifred, well maybe Derek and Sara, or perhaps Annabell and Simon.
4. I love Lisa Kleypas characters. They all have different personalities and different challenges, but underneath that they are all basically nice people. The romance in her books is so romantic:) I love that the characters in her books fall so completely in love with each other that they would do anything for them.

2. Love in the Afternoon, with Marrying Winterborne as a close second.
3. Hero: Cam (I think..this is not an easy question), Heroine: Evie (so many good ones though), Couple: Beatrix & Christopher
4. I don't recall the first one I read of LKs, but it didn't make me a believer then. I would come back to LK when I needed a good, reliable read. I read the Wallflower series and liked it quite a lot, but still not in auto-buy for me. Then I read the Hathaway series, and it floored me. Loved those ones so much, and it made me appreciate her genius in earlier reads. I have not read her contemporaries, because I rarely read in that genre, but do keep them in the back burner for when I need a good read.

1. Name: Rathika
2. What are your favourite LK books?
It’s so hard to choose only a few since I LOVE most of LK’s historical romance novels. The following stories hold a special place in my heart & I’ve re-read them as well.
- Dreaming of You
- It Happened One Autumn
- Worth Any Price
- Suddenly You
3. Who’s your favourite LK hero & heroine? Couple?
Do I have to choose only one hero? ;) .......not sure if that’s possible :p LK writes such wonderful men. If I must choose then it’s probably tied between Derek Craven & Marcus (Lord Westcliff).
Fav heroine is Evie & fav couple is Sara Fielding & Derek Craven
4. What do you like about LK books?
Just everything. ;) Her writing style, her ability to effortlessly make one see & feel what is happening. I don’t ever have to try imagining anything because I am always magically transported there. Her characters (both hero & heroine) are just amazing. They are all different yet I always manage to connect with them in some way. And they aren’t perfect. They all have faults & issues to work through just like any of us. I love that her heroines are always strong even if they have gentle / quiet personalities. And the heroes are just amazing - passionate, intelligent & strong. And the stories are so romantic. Plus, she writes great love scenes. And with most of her books I’m still thinking about the characters days after I’ve finished the book. They become so real to me. LK is my #1 favourite historical romance author. :)

1. Megan
2. So far: Devil in Winter (obviously), It Happened One Autumn, Love In the Afternoon
3. St. Vincent, I don't care that he is a rake. I love him shamelessly!! My favorite heroine is Beatrix Hathaway because I loved the way she took what she wanted from Christopher ;) Favorite Couple: Marcus and Lillian
4. Great historical romance, good flow, and just enough steaminess! I have tried a few other authors in this genre and I keep coming back to her books.

You can't go wrong with St. Vincent, and Kev and Win from Seduce Me at Sunrise are probably my favorite couple.
I also loved Dream Lake and Blue-Eyed Devil which are just two of her contemporary books.

I would recommend the Hathaway series, the Wallflowers, Friday Harbor and the Travis's. They seem to be her best work. She writes great heroes.

I would recommend the Hathaway series, the Wallflowers, Friday Harbor and the Travis's. They seem to..."
I didn't read Friday Harbor books, but yes to the others! I am actually loving the new series, The Ravenels, also.

Thank you so much. Getting them right now.

I hope you love them!

1. So I'm Alice.
2. My ABSOLUTE favorite book is Again the Magic. It's absolutely flawless and heartfelt. But I also love Where Dreams Begin and Marrying Winterborne.
3. My favorite couple is Derek Craven and Sarah Fielding. I love their dynamic, and that ending scene where they're reunited... oh my goodness. So many emotions.
My favorite hero is West. No competition. He's witty and subtle and so sweet.
For heroines, I have a hard time picking a favorite, but I think it's Amelia Hathaway. The first Kleypas heroine I read.
4. What do I like about Kleyaps's books? I love her attention to detail. They really immerse me into the story, and they help bring the time period to life, which I really appreciate. Her romances have evolved with the times, and so we get truly conscientious and romantic couples. I also love the fast-paced endings and the building action sequences. It makes the stories thrilling, the endings that much sweeter, and Kleypas memorable.
Looking forward to Chasing Cassandra!

I also love Annabelle and Simon! I thought the book had good pacing and high stakes, and I love their dynamic, the way they came from different backgrounds but still came together. I've been meaning to re-read it.

I love that Simon pursued Annabelle relentlessly, regardless of her rejection. He knew what he wanted. I so loved when she finally gave in!

1. Ann-Marie
2. Probably top 3 (although I really enjoyed almost all of them):
--Mine 'til Midnight (basically all of it)
--It Happened One Autumn (the scene where she's drunk in the library :) )
--Secrets of a Summer Night (the snake bite scene when he's comforting her!)
3. Favorite couples are Cam and Amelia and Westcliff and Lillian. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed these 2 couples until this post made me think about it :)
4. I enjoy a lot of things about LK- I like that she's romantic but it never feels cheesy or ridiculous like other writers. The scenes are steamy, but never too graphic with descriptions that I become uncomfortable. I also always enjoy her sense of humor and her little pet names the heroes have for the ladies (like "hummingbird" from Cam!).
I'm super excited for Chasing Cassandra and to join this group :)

Please tell us a little about you.
1. Name: Kat
2. What are your favorite Lisa Kleypas books? Devil in Winter, Devil in Spring
3. Who's your favorite Lisa Kleypas hero and heroine? Sebastian and Evie, Gabriel and Pandora Couple? Sebastian And Evie
4. What do you like ..." I like how LK portrayed Sebastian and Evie. They are flawed like us but when they love, they love deeply.

1. Diana
2. Devil in Winter, Stranger in My Arms, Again the Magic, Because You're Mine
3. Sebastian St. Vincent. The jury is still out on my favorite heroine. But I adore St. Vincent and Evie as a couple.
4. Lisa Kleypas is a phenomenal writer. Have you read her note in Kathleen E. Woodiwiss' Shanna (2009)? She and I cut our teeth on the same book: The Flame and the Flower. It took me by surprise that she and I share the same opinion on Ruark Beauchamp and what makes a hero.
LK draws out the person whom I hide from everyone I know. She lures me into conversations with her in my head, and it's not hard to imagine her responses.
I just recently became a member, and so far, I enjoy participating. I am currently reading Smooth Talking Stranger. Has there been a discussion on the topic of Jack and Ella? They've started to argue, and yes, it's delicious. I'm trying to find someone here who would care to savor it along with me. [Long sigh...] I'm beginning to realize just how huge GR is and how a new member can feel a little forlorn.

I am also very excited for Cold-Hearted Rake. I wish she'll do more historicals after this."
Honeyee, as far as I'm aware, she has signed a seven book deal ..."
Thanks for the info Carol! This is good news for LK fans. Can't wait for the new historical to be released!
