Hi all I am Mey from the Philippines, all her books are my favorite.. but what I love most are:
Devil in winter from the wallflower series,
mine til midnight from the hathaway series
lady sophia's lover from the bow street series :-)
my favorite couple is Leo and Evie. The good thing about LK's books is different from the other books. there's a touch reality and the deep love from each character. :-)

Edna 1. Edna
2. Devil in Winter, Then Came You, Smooth Talking Stranger. Honorable mention for Sugar Daddy because it was my first Kleypas book.
3. Sebastian and Evie
4. She has an amazing ability to draw you into the world of the books. I just love her writing style. Her characters can be so easy to like, the romances make me sigh, and the humor amuses me to no end.

1. Julie
2. Dreaming of You, Where Dreams begin, Mine til Midnight.
3. I love Derek Craven and Cam Rohan. For heroine I love Amelia Hathaway because she was so unselfish. As for couple I love the chemistry between Derek and Sara Fielding.
4.She writes the most amazing love scenes.

message 56: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

 Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Julie, I really admired Amelia. She turned out to be a great heroine. I love LK's love scenes too. Sexy and steamy, but always romantic.

Julie (floresji) | 21 comments Danielle, your right about steamy and always so very romantic.

message 58: by Rochelle (new)

Rochelle (toastqueen) | 9 comments 1. Name: Rochelle
2. Favorite Kleypas books: I can't pick one like in the poll! ;) I loved Devil in Winter, Scandal in Spring, Mine Till Midnight, All of the Travis books, Worth Any Price....
3. Who's your favorite Lisa Kleypas hero and heroine? Couple? I loved Daisy because she was so ballsy, Sophia, Lottie, and Ella; I like strong female characters. Men I liked pretty much everyone as long as they didn't start out looking for revenge: Simon Hunt, Nick Gentry, Cam Rohan, and Jack Travis. Favorite couple is either Nick and Charlotte, Cam and Amelia, or Jack and Ella.
4. What do you like about Lisa Kleypas books? I love the romance, the "chase" she describes, how incredible she makes her men, and the escapism she provides me!

4. I love almost everyone of her books, very few do I rate under a 4*. There is just something about her writing that just draws you in making you love the characters. Love how she can create a "villian" and make him the hero.

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments 1. Hi all! I'm Jayne from Australia. Thanks for the invite, Dhestiny! I've been a Kleypas fan since 2007. The only books of hers that I haven't yet read are Prince of Dreams and her early works (pre-1990 books). I've enjoyed all her books, but some more than others. I'm a huge LK fan and have been singing praises of her books in my main group, the Cyber Book Club, where we read all kinds of books.

2. My fave Kleypas books are Again the Magic, Wallflowers Series (with It Happened One Autumn and Devil in Winter being my top 2) and the Hathaway series.

3. My fave hero? Hmm…so many wonderful men to choose from, but my top 5 faves are:
- Marcus Lord Westcliff (for being such a responsible, strong man, willing to defy years of programming and convention to be with a crazy American);
- Sebastian St. Vincent (for being the redeemable rascal that he is, and for the way he cares for Evie);
- Cam Rohan (for not only being a sexy Romany but the way he takes care of Amelia and the ecclectic and eccentric Hathaway family, and also for not only willing to accept his "stopping place" but embracing it);
- Hardy Cates (this blue-eyed devil is one sexy man, that just sizzles off the page - I see him as a modern St. Vincent);
- Jack Travis (for his sense of humour and sense of family and because he's also very sexy).

Heck! They're all sexy! LOL

My Fave couple? Again, I can't just choose one: Marcus and Lillian, Sebastian and Evie, and Cam and Amelia.

My Fave heroine? Evie (for having inner strength and just being such a darling) and Amelia (who loves her family so much and takes her responsibilities very seriously. I'm so happy she found Cam, they compliment each other well).

4. What do you like about Lisa Kleypas books?

I love the way she writes and the heroes and heroines she creates are so three dimensional. You can't help but fall madly in love with her heroes and her heroines are admirable, strong women who you can see yourself being friends with. Of course, they all have their flaws, which is what makes them so real. I love LK's characterisations. I love the way she writes love scenes (so steamy and yet romantic and tender, too). I love the dialogue and banter between the heroes and heroines, and also between friends (like in the Wallflowers) and between family (like in the Hathaway and Travis series). I just love her writing and her books are definite keepers, for me, like old friends that I look forward to spending time with.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments What a lovely introduction, Lady Jayne! I'm so new to Lisa that I haven't even finished the Wallflowers yet!

It's great to have you in the group!

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments Thanks, Dhestiny! I'm kinda jealous of you that you have so many of her wonderful novels to experience for the first time. There's nothing like the first time. ^_^ Of course, every time thereafter is also special. Like I said, like spending time with old friends again. LK's characters live on in your head and heart long after you finish the last page of her books. At least, that's been my experience. ^_^

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments You have a lot of great books to look forward to, ladies! ^_^

As I said, there are so many great LK heroes….but I would be remiss if I didn't also give honourable mention to Kev Merripen from the Hathaway series. He is the strong, silent type who has loved silently for so many years. He is a pillar to the eccentric Hathaway family. Kev, Cam and the incorrigible Leo Hathaway ( I adore him, too ^_^), as well as the ladies of the Hathaway family, are what make the Hathaway series one of my faves.

Seriously though, it's hard not to love a Lisa Kleypas hero. Those Bow Street Runner men - Sir Ross, Grant Morgan and Nick Gentry? Derek Craven? Zachary Bronson? Simon Hunt? Matthew Swift? I better stop, or I'll name all LK's heroes! LOL They're all heroes to sigh and swoon over.

message 75: by Holly (new)

Holly (velvetsun) | 144 comments I might only be on my third LK book, but i already know that she is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.

message 77: by Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (last edited Jan 17, 2010 08:34PM) (new)

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments Same here, Anne. I was hooked from my first book, It Happened One Autumn.

I think LK's been writing pretty fast lately, myself. She had Smooth Talking Stranger, and Tempt Me at Twilight out in 2009. And in 2008 she had Seduce Me at Sunrise and A Wallflower Christmas. She's got Married by Morning (#4 Hathaway) due out on 25 May this year and then a month later Love in the Afteroon (#5 Hathaway) on 29 June this year. I think that's really great that she can produce more than one book a year. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love more LK books, but an average of 2 books a year is pretty phenomenal, I think. ^_^

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments And she's also writing that new contemporary series set in Friday Harbor. I hope she also writes Joe Travis' story. The last info I read, she hadn't planned on Joe's story yet. I need more Travis men. ^_^

Hi Alycia,
I finally got the first of the books I ordered from Amzn yesterday afternoon,it was Sugar Daddy.I am about 40 pages in, and I like what I have read so far,I think I`ll enjoy the whole book.
Anyway I ordered the three Wallflowers and the three Contemps.I didn`t realize I need to order the Hathaways because they apparantly continue on from the Wallflowers.

The Wallflowers are pretty much resolved, so you're ok without reading Hathaways. But, one of the characters from Devil in Winter is the hero in one of the Hathaway books.

Here is a link to my review of Again the Magic and at the bottom of the review, I have the suggested reading order.

Now, I'm not trying to talk you out of Hathaways, I'm going to read that series too, I'm just explaining that you don't have to read it to be finished with Wallflowers.

It bothers me when the book sellers don't list the reading order. But yes, I have links to each book as well as the order in my review, but I'll put it here for you, too.

Again The Magic - Stand alone/prequel to the Wallflowers. Excellent book and I strongly recommend reading it, even if you don't read it til the end.
Secrets of a Summer Night
It Happened One Autumn
Devil in Winter
Scandal in Spring
A Wallflower Christmas

Let me know how you like it Kathy Ann. I am glad to hear about the Hathaway series. I should have asked, but I was just planning on reading that series after the Wallflower series. I thought I would stick with the historical romance first before branching out so I wouldn't confuse characters, etc.

I'm glad to help! No, I read it last, in fact. It's such a good story and was written as a stand alone, but it's more like a prequel, though not required to be able to follow the Wallflowers. HOWEVER, I would strongly recommend reading it simply because it's an amazing story.

message 92: by Lisarenee (last edited Jan 19, 2010 02:35PM) (new)

Lisarenee | 392 comments My name is Lisa and first got into Lisa Kleypas books last year thanks to Jayne (AKA Lady Jayne). I even accused her of perhaps being Kleypas' sister because she was so knowledgeable about them and let's face it sometimes you just don't know who you're talking to on the internet. My top four favorite books of Kleypas' are Mine Till Midnight, Worth Any Price, It Happened One Autumn, followed by Suddenly You. Who is my favorite hero???? Not sure because I love them all and there are so many great ones to pick from. It might be Cam, but I'm not sure I can commit to that. Favorite couple??? Perhaps Kev and Win. What do I like about the books???? What don't I would perhaps be more appropriate. They're fun stories with great romances that usually have the right mix of romance, humor, and some bit of mystery or drama that keeps your interest. Plus, you can always count on the books to give you a warm fuzzy feeling by the end. Oh, and did I mention the guys might have a bit to do with why they're so good?*chuckle* Okay, the characters (both male and female) are so likeable and relatable that it helps suck you into the story.

Thanks Jayne for inviting me to this group.

I never knew so many people enjoyed the same reads, I'm also discovering new books! Question....does anyone know a good read where the H/H are strangers, he is dark, brooding alpha, but unable to resist her. The are thrown together somehow....I remember reading a book YEARS ago that I liked,can't remember title(think she was mail order, spinster-like), but it doesn't matter if it is Comtemporary, historical...Just like the theme.

(I also posted this ? to Romance Readers, I am also part of that group, so you might see this again)
