Hero: Jack Travis

2. What are your favorite Lisa Kleypas books? Honestly, I love all her books, but I adored...Again the Magic, Scandal In Spring, Because You're Mine, Stranger In My Arms, Dreaming of You.
3. Who's your favorite Lisa Kleypas hero and heroine? Couple? Definitely McKenna and Aline!
4. What do you like about Lisa Kleypas books? I think her characters are very well thought out and realistic with their emotions and actions. LK has such a way of writing heroes you can't help but sigh over, and heroines you can't help but root for :)

Favorite so far is Devil In Winter
Favorite hero St. Vincent DUH! :P Evie is my favorite heroine and Evie and Sebastian are my fav couple. They are just too adorable for words!
What I like, LOVE actually is her writing style. She draws you in completely from the very first chapter. Her characters are compelling, fully developed and you can relate to them and just fall in love with them. For me at least.lol Her stories tend to have a darker edge to it for historical romance books which is what I love about it. Darker gritty and more realistic to the times. Very angsty tension-filled and full of drama that's not half-baked or forced into the story. Let's not forget the passion!!! Oh my! She also brings up issues that relate to the time and setting of the story. Her stories are socially conscious for the most part and it's a nice bonus. She makes you fall in love with her characters (the ones I've read about so far)
I'm hoping to read more of her books.

John McKenna... oooh which book is he from?
I'm right now on the Hathaway series so I'm slowly working my way through the list. :P

im so glad i found a place where i can discuss the trivialities of the romance genre.. u see, Im a Biochemist.. and imagine me reading a sizzling romance while doing some experiment.!! haahah kinda of weird.. and not many ppl can see the persona past that. (my field is inundated with males.. so its my little secret ;) and im sooo thrilled to be able to share that little secret passion of mine. i want to fall in love over and over.. unfortunately im very selective with the reading..so far Julia Quinn,KP, and Judith McNaught are the ones that keep me hanging.. :)
btw: is there any code as to how i can put the name of the book and the cover shows instead.??? like the post above me..
thx!!!!!!!!! for all this camaraderie... i love it
Atumn!

Hello!
I had to ask about the code too- click on "add book/author" above the comment box and then click on cover at the bottom of the new box that opens. That'll fix it.

I can kind of relate to your "secrete passion" I'm a Graphic Designer, went to Art School and not one person I met there knows or have read Romance novels, it goes with the cliche stereotype that they are too cheesy or trashy and "bad design" when it comes to the covers. I disagree completely well on some books/authors that is. lol In my world you either read about art movements, designers or zines so yeah romance books don't fit the bill. Which is why I hate to say this it's my 'secrete guilty pleasure' as well. Wish it doesn't have to be a secrete or so 'hush hush'. They are just books! Guys especially need to get over their ridiculous fear of them.
I think it's ridiculous that books of this genre get such a bad rep. Yeah there are bad ones out there but depends on who the author is. Just gotta find the good ones! :D

ahh i will kieep that in mind!! cus i think is cool!! "everything enters through the eyes" ahahah no underlined joke there right?? ;)

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!! Thats what i mean!!! so many cliche novels out there.. (or just dont hold my particular interest) BUT for instance LK novels (the most recent one, do show how much shes grown and understanding relationships.. and i love the interaction between the characters more than the "happily ever after" i like the way they confront each other and with the sense of humor she pairs it.. God damn she makes some High standards LOL!! i would love for ppl to stop label them as cheesy romance.. but as a learning experience as well..

I totally I agree. I'm a veterinarian and only discovered HR in past few years. Previously put off by the 'cheesy' image - how wrong can a girl be! I love it and now spreading the word. A HR evangelist! I believe there is enough stress in real life, to award yourself an escape into a world of fantasy and romance! Indeed, it's not just a reward, but essential for sanity!

Hear, hear! I'm also in the science field (microbiologist) and while I enjoy reading associated non-fiction and medical mysteries, sometimes I want to escape from what I deal with every day. I like knowing I'm going to get a HEA with romances and since I have eclectic reading taste I refuse to be embarrassed because I enjoy 'bodice rippers'.

I'm not ashamed to read romance novels, although I've been picked on my whole life for it. They make me happy and a more relaxed person. How can that be a bad thing?

If I have to choose between the old school 'sexy cover' and a boring reprint...I'll search high and low for the original.

I've only read the first two books in the Wallflowers series but it was love at first read :) I can't believe I haven't joined in here before, I love her writing style, the romances, the characters, the humor are all very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.
