I regularly watch Warehouse 13, though it is a bit silly for my taste also. I thought I recommended it to you in the past (in this very thread, in fact). You would probably also enjoy Eureka and Haven from the Syfy Channel, though none of these holds a candle to Fringe, IMO.

Christine Six Feet Under is amazing. I think I will buy the boxed dvd set and watch it all over again. Its purchase worthy!

Thanks for the advice Christine and Plasborgma. Now do either of you peoples or anyone else have an opinion on Heroes or 24? I know they are both popular and just curious what y'all think of them.

message 154: by Christine (new)

Christine Heroes, I got bored with after the 1st season and quit watching it. I watched 24 to the bitter end. There were periods when it was flat out ridiculous but it was entertaining so I stuck with it. Jack Bauer is an over the top character. He gets into situations where only he can save the day, hence the alternate WWJD T-shirts, "What would Jack (Bauer) do? hahaha

I love Heroes and own the first 3 seasons on DVD. It went downhill a bit after the first season, but it has still been a very good show, IMO. The final season will begin next month.

Christine Jason, you mentioned Haven a while ago and I have to say that show has grown on me. I am disappointed that it does not resemble much of the novella by Stephen King but, it is an entertaining show and the scenery is spectacular. Its filmed in Nova Scotia but set in Maine.

I never really expected it to have much to do with the King novella, given Syfy's track record and that most "based on" shows end up not having a lot to do with what they're based on, at least in the long run.

Christine Some shows stay truer than others. I'm glad True Blood has strayed from the Sookie Stackhouse books.

Fringe S2 arrived in my mailbox last night. I forgot all about that until I read these latest posts :-) I think I'll be logging off soon to go watch my new discs!

message 164: by Becca (new)

Becca (goblinfan) | 29 comments I'll be getting disc 1 tomorrow or monday, yay! The libraries around here leave something to be desired. A lot actually. Another thing, I can't afford the gas to go to the bigger libraries. How sad is that?

I was very surprised to see they killed off one of the characters in the first episode of season 2. I hope they don't try to bring him back like the X-files always did - really I don't see how there was time to kill that character anyway because the download process seemed to take a lot longer when we were shown earlier in the episode. And another thing - Olivia walking around with that cane was so much like House MD. Ha Ha Glad that didn't last.

message 167: by Becca (new)

Becca (goblinfan) | 29 comments After that scene with the flat worm smoothie, I've decided to answer the phone with,"Bishop's Deli".
And the whole changing process did seem to take longer. Plus, he switched clothes and had to drag the other body out of...wherever he had it stashed.

message 170: by Christine (new)

Christine I love Fringe too! Did any of you see the first show of the season? It was awesome. I can't wait to see where they go with the 2 Olivias

message 171: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (bookworm12186) I sure did! It was interesting. I was alittle disappointed because it doesnt really have the feel of the firs ttwo seasons, but i am excited to see where it goes with the 2 olivias. Im just not sure about the split episodes, i miss the investigations ya know? i hope they right it though! jsut when her and peter find they love each other right? lol. what happens when he finds out the olivia hes with isnt his olivia?

I enjoyed (and own on DVD) the first one, but was very disappointed by the second one--it was horrible.

I really enjoyed the season premiere. I wonder for how long they will continue showing both of the parallel worlds.

I wonder too. I really enjoy the original universe best. but we will see where that goes.

message 175: by Christine (new)

Christine Jason "plasborgma" wrote: "I really enjoyed the season premiere...."

***contains spoilers**

I love having the parallel worlds....the alternate world makes me think of steampunk with its zeppelins and gadgets. I think there's lots of potential for new creative plot lines with both worlds.

Jenna, Peter will be the first to figure out its not his Olivia! I hope they bring the investigations back because that is when Walter is at his best. I don't like the sad Walter.

message 176: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (bookworm12186) I liked the paralell worlds, butit kind of makes the show different. i liked all the weird investigations and im sure itll get back to that too, just kind of different, and i hope they split the show more equally if they are doing it this way, rather then 3/4 one and 1/4 other. there are alot of openings for new plots your right...i guess i just like how the show was. i do like the parallell universes jsut splitting it is kind of wuthering heights'ing it lol.

I hope peter relaly figures it out! I hope too they bring back investigations. I like the mental walter better then mr. high and mighty lol. Its an interesting mirrored image though.

message 177: by Christine (new)

Christine Yes, the mental Walter is better than Mr. High and Mighty Walter. I like the way you describe the two. hahaha

They do need to split the show better because I did miss Peter and he is only in the one world.

What did you think of the taxi driver? I have a feeling we will see more of him.

message 178: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (bookworm12186) thanks haha. What can i say im descriptive hahaha.

I definitely think he will be a voice of reason in that reality/universe..i think he connected with Olivia and is now going to be her protector? guardian angel of sorts?

I recently watched the two-part finale to Fringe Season Two and it was amazingly intense - absolutely loved it and it's a real indicator of how skilled the actors/actresses are that have to play two versions of the same character. Peter and William Bell actors have it easy :-) but Olivia and Walter are amazing. My favorite character is Olivia - she's dynomite! I especially love the different way the two Olivias walked in the finale :-)

*SPOILER ALERT*
I didn't expect the other Walter to be so evil and at first that other Olivia seemed so flirty - It surprised me when she turned out to be a mean bitch.
*End of Spoiler*

Christine Another good episode of Fringe this past week. Walter was just the way I like him, you know, kind of not really sane but he says some deadly serious stuff. Check out this posting on io9.com by Charlie Jane Anders

abso-freaking-lutely. lol. Im glad this past week they went back to investigations, im hoping it doesnt take all season for the toher olivia to blow her cover, to get back the original Olivia.

message 183: by Christine (new)

Jaice Cooperrider (plasborgma) | 1299 comments Jenna wrote: "...im hoping it doesnt take all season for the toher olivia to blow her cover, to get back the original Olivia"

I have a feeling it might, as the "real" Olivia seems to be thinking she is the "fake" Olivia, due to the injections Walternate had his scientist giving her.

You got that right! It's the only TV show I actually bought because I can watch it over and over again. I have Beast Wars, but that's a cartoon, amazingly cool cartoon but still a cartoon so that don't count.

My father and grandfather owned a funeral home, and I swear, on Six Feet, it's all variations of my crazy family. I love it!

Fringe is freakin' awesome! It gets better with every episode. Just when you think things can't get more intense, they blow your mind all over again.
The injections were specifically for real Olivia to think she's Fauxlivia. Seems to be working too. Peter's an idiot for now knowing the difference between the Olivia's.

I like True Blood also.
I never did catch Twin Peaks, I think I'm going to have to find it.

Nice. Did you come up with "Fauxlivia" on your own? I like it. I had never heard of Twin Peaks until Maciek mentioned it on here a few months ago. Now it is in my Netflix queue.

FYI, if you missed watching an episode or two (like me, recent Fringe episodes are available online:

http://episodes.fringetelevision.com/

Also, I noticed the term "Fauxlivia" on the Fringe fan website as part of a poll of what the other Olivia should be called, so if Jackie was the one who came up with it, her idea is quite popular :-)
